Flu when 12 weeks pregnant??

I'm sort of having a panic attack because I've realized what I thought was a harmless cold is actually the flu and I'm just starting to get over it now and about 3 days before I caught this flu I had caught the stomach flu for 4 days so I'm just panicking that it could've harmed my baby im going to see if I can go into the hospital tomorrow and check since I'm waiting to get my first ultrasound appt because I moved doctors so until then I have no one to call to ask. :-SS

I'm 11 weeks and I've already gotten sick twice. I don't think having the flu affects your baby in any way unless you have vomiting and diarrhea so badly that you become dehydrated or a really high fever. Just make sure that you drink lots of water and take your prenatal everyday.

Even though you switched doctors thy should be able to help you with this question. I second keeping hydrated, hope it goes away quickly.

I had influenza at 10 weeks and pneumonia from weeks 11-12. I managed my fever with Tylenol and was put on Tamiflu for the flu and antibiotics for the pneumonia. I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks and baby is just fine! Wiggling around with a great heartbeat, so don't worry! You may feel miserable but baby is just fine in there and isn't affected. Just make sure you're not dehydrated and keep your fever down with Tylenol and a cold washcloth on your forehead.
