Good morning fellow mommas!

This is the second week of our new check-in for mommas on this board
that just want to feel connected, bond, and connect with each other on a
weekly basis!  Check-ins will start on Saturdays.

This week, just talk about whatever is on your minds.  Life...family...work...school....bitching...whatever!  Can be just a simple update or just checking in to say hi :)

QOTW:  Since I am a new momma, one thing I miss is a good date night.  What makes a perfect date with your significant other?

@mrs.AmyDylan When is your 2ww over?  Hugs and prayers!

    Hello MoMmAs!

So I'm updating this check-in connected to a pump, realized I only have 5 weeks left of my 16 week maternity leave and need to rebuild my milk stash.  I was soo sad last night, had to dump all of my freezer stash into the sink.  For all the bf mommas, you probably understand my pain.  Discovered I have high lipase and it makes my milk taste gross after 24 hours in fridge and even after being in freezer for awhile.  So I have to scald my milk.  I started with bottle one this morning!!!  Pumped after 7am feed, since most full, and it took me about 10 minutes to scald one bottle.  Glad I'm doing one bottle a day for 5 weeks, otherwise would be unmanageable.  Just bummed I have another issue to deal with.

QOTW:  Hubby and I are total foodies.  I love fancy local farm to table restaurants, a great glass of sweet wine, and yummy desert.  Dinner and a movie is always fun too!

  • Hello!

@dp21 - totally jealous you have 5 weeks left! I go back to work next Wed! Boo! I'm nervous about leaving her all day. I know my mom will be able to take care of her but I hope she'll be ok!

My dd has started screaming, like full on - someone's killing me type screaming from about 7pm to 10pm, when she finally goes to sleep. I have no idea what this is about! It's scream, bath (loves it!), scream, bottle, scream, sleep. Wth?!?. Anyone else experience(d) this?

Hope you ladies are doing well!

QOTW: I like the simple dinner and a movie - preferably a movie I pick out tho! ;)

  • @dp21 ugh so sorry about your stash of breast milk - that stinks! I'm counting down my maternity leave too - I have a ways to go but just thinking about leaving them is hard.

@hopeby2015 I'm mobile - how old is your little one? Mine is 5 weeks and he gets the hiccups all the time and he will cry during the night from frustration. Hope the constant crying stops soon.

QOTW - we enjoy going to the movies and eating out. Doesn't happen much anymore with 2 little ones lol. I think my mom is going to watch the boys tonight and we are going to the movies - we are looking at American sniper and 50 shades of grey - has anyone seen either? Would love to hear thoughts...

@Mayzie15 haven't seen either but I heard American Sniper is really good. I'd probably rent 50 shades of grey.

@hopeby2015 sometimes babies just have fussy time! We have issues in the evening sometimes. The swing and my baby wrap are my best friends during these times!

Doing well over here! Life with a toddler is nonstop and I'm soaking as much one-on-one time with him before baby brother arrives. My parents were here today watching him while I attended a work thing. They haven't seen him since Christmas and they had lots of fun.

@Mayzie15 - we haven't seen either but will be seeing American Sniper at some point. That whole murder took place near my hometown, the trial in my hometown, and Kyle's family lives in the area still. I've heard it's really good and so quiet in the theaters by the end of it.

  • The 2ww is over and we have a BFP with a first beta of 170!!!

For randomness of this last week or so is that J has unweaned herself. I did a month long weaning dropping her from about 4x day to zero for stims. 10 days of no boob. She kept hassling me to nurse. After the retrieval I caved. She seems to have settled into 3x day. I'm going with it, but I'm not getting sucked into nurse to sleep again since that was a super hard transition and she is 26mo.

Date night? What is that? We can walk to a super fun wine bar. That is my favorite date since we can drink and don't drive home.

  • @dp21 I truly cringed reading about your milk stash :(( I have literally cried over spilt milk so I feel your pain.

@Mayzie15 what did you end up seeing? We saw 50 shades (I didn't read the book) but I was bummed because I thought it'd be more romantic than it actually was. The soundtrack is great though

    @mrs.amydylan congrats again!!!

DD started army crawling yesterday! It was super exciting and I got it on video. She is quickly getting into everything now already. DS isn't quite liking that she can grab his things now.

QOTW: we have recently been getting into fine dining and wine tasting. If we could have a babysitter overnight, go out to fancy dinner with our friends, come home and sleep in the next morning that would be ideal!

    Hey ladies,

I just wanted to send a warm welcome to starlightgator and get the group up to speed!!

@starlightgator This is only our second week with this new check-in, feel free to join us and we will definitely be here to support you every week!  As I mentioned earlier, I've been stalking you anyway, so this will make it easier ;)  I am not a NICU nurse but work on a peds unit that takes all the stable preemies who graduate from NICU but aren't ready for home yet.  I haven't been in your shoes but have seen many families who have been, my biggest advice is to make sure you take care of yourself!

Here is her intro she posted on last weeks thread to get everyone up to speed.
I would love to join. Is this where I belong now?

I was in the IF group during our IVF journey, then joined PAIF once we
got pregnant with twins. Now, my twin girls were delivered via emergency
C-section at only 25w5d last Sunday. They are currently in the NICU and
    are 1 week old tomorrow.

I checked out the Micro Preemies group but it seemed very slow. And like
PP's have said, I really like having a weekly or every couple of days
    place to talk.

QOTW: Haven't really had time to watch tv lately. Mostly pumping every 2
hours and resting in between. Dealing with lots of family and DH
    drama...

Edited: sorry....think I double posted on the other thread.

  • @dp21 I think we will rent 50 shades of grey and see American sniper in the theater.

@mnj05 wow talk about a small world - the story is very sad :(. I didn't realize he was killed until a few weeks ago.

    @Mrs. AmyDylan congratulations!

@Cwhitaker27 DS1 had a rough day yesterday all day 18 months is so hard everyday is several meltdowns - I think he's frustrated he doesn't get his way and can't express it through words :(. So needless to say we didn't go out - hopefully another time. Congrats that DD is crawling - love that you got it on video!

@starlightgator I've been following your story on PAIF - sending positive thoughts to you and your twin girls.

I woke up in the middle of the night with pink eye, so I've been mostly sleeping and laying in bed today. I am so tired of being sick. We've all been sick all winter. Being the parent of a preschooler is tough.

QOTW: my DH is an arts writer so most of our dates are to the theater, but that's always work for him. I sometimes prefer a date that's not work at all like going to a football game or out for a nice dinner.
IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

  • @Mayzie15 - she's 7 weeks old. the screaming has seemed to lessen - she yawns and pauses between screaming sessions now. Although the right before and the right after bathtime have considerably improved! So hopefully we'll be done with these sessions soon! Also I watched 50 shades and it was so dissapointing - no real porn, terrible dialogue, plot was eh, nothing worth seeing really ..Would've been really disappointed with the night if it hadn't been my first night out since having the baby ..

@dp21 - there is fuzzy and there is screaming so hard, she's red in the face! I hope your lo is doing well!

@mnj05 - when are due? I'm on mobile right and can't see ur sig.

    @mrs.amydylan - Congrats! When's the u/s?

@Cwhitaker27 - I loved the soundtrack to 50 shades too! They should've just played the music instead of the movie - lol! Also Congrats on ur lo crawling! How old is she now?

@starlightgator - welcome! I didn't expect to see you here for a long time - I hope your twins are doing well! Sending you lots of t&ps! I can only imagine the added stress from family/dh cam be very difficult to deal with right now.

@CarrieB - hope you get better soon! I'm so sick of winter too! But thankfully the weathers gotten a bit better round here.

  • Hi gals!  My name is Lindsey and I have previously been very active on the bump, but deleted my old account so I could delete any old photos I didn't want on there forever, and restarted a new one.  I have the same SN just a"2" on the end.  I have a very active and crawling 6 month old.  Life is good!  I cannot believe how fast time is going by and that I am already scheduled for an IVF consult to get going on #2.

@CarrieB. I hope your pink eye is long gone by now!

@hopeby2015  My nephew was doing the same thing recently.  He was diagnosed with reflux and colic.  I hope that your LO is doing better!  Colic has been a challenge for my SIL.
