I was totally lame and threw the Baggie holding the first response test at him. Haha. He was thrilled and started dancing around with our daughter caller her big sister. It was cute. Anyone do anything creative?!
I am a pizza fanatic so I made this for when my hubby got home. When he walked in after a few moments I told him I had to pee and asked him to check the pizza. I had a camera hidden to catch his reaction and then suprised him with babies first outfit. He cried like a baby!
I was too impatient. I was going to do something creative but I couldn't keep the secret. I lasted about 4 hours before I blurted it out! Poor husband just stared at me for a little bit since it came out of nowhere.
We've been trying for 5 years, and were set to start an IUI cycle on January 24. Before dropping off our cheque, my hubby joked that I should take a test, since a $10 test was a lot less than the $1400 fee for the IUI! I was only 8 DPO, but took one anyways, telling him it would be negative. As soon as I saw the result I burst into tears, then he ran in to see what happened. I don't think I could have hidden it if I tried, I had started to give up hope that we would ever have a baby of our own.
I took a test Monday morning at 10DPO and it was BFN. The rest of the day I had a horrible stomach bug, nothing stayed down. The next 2 days I assumed I was experiencing residual effects from the bug, but DH kept joking I should take a test. I had already planned on waiting until he was home Saturday to take one, but decided to test yesterday to shut him up. I about died when I saw the faint line and immediately texted him a picture. When he didn't respond within 5 minutes I called his office and was like have you not checked your phone?! And he said he'd been busy and to wait a second and then I heard an "uhhhhhh are you serious? is that an actual test or an ovulation one?" lol

Haha for our first I was a week late so I took a test just to "ease my mind" and then panicked and sent him a text with a picture of the positive. Haha I'm the worst! He was in a safety meeting and couldn't react and then called me like 20 min later and was freaking out on the phone. (A good freaking out).
I didn't do anything creative with our first. We had been trying for over two years, so once I got a positive I couldn't contain it. I just took a test tonight and found that we're pregnant with another sweet baby and if I can keep it a secret from him, I plan to surprise him during our family pictures in a few days. I can't wait to capture his reaction! And of course I'll be using our little boy to help announce the big news!
I did the same thing I was like honey guess what I'm pregnant I didn't think I was until I saw the test that afternoon in my bathroom trash so I took another one and it said positive and told my husband were so excited 2nd child hope it's a girl
I ran into the man cave and said to DH, "Okay, you see this faint line right here? This one means we're pregnant!" He was like "What really?" My parents were visiting so then I ran and told them too. I can't keep a secret, otherwise I would have made a bigger deal.
I like to paint water colors. So I told my husband I wanted to make a time lapse video of my art and I set up the camera (hoping he wasn't suspicious). While he was watching TV. I was recording him actually! I painted in big letters "your going to be a dad!" and revealed the paper and was able to catch his surprise on video.
@mrsgeyer11 What a wonderful birthday present! I found out just a few days after mine. I had a feeling I was pregnant before that though. Once i tell my husband this week, we'll be telling only our families in a couple of weeks. DH's mother's birthday and my sister's birthday are within a couple of days of each other so we're going to tell them then.
My husband has recently gotten in to smoking really nice cigars, so I stole one of his cases and hid the test inside. I had been having a rough time during this 2ww (much more than usual, go figure because we were actually pregnant this time) so I told him I had gotten him a little "I'm sorry" present for being so Moody all week. When he opened it he was so in shock and actually started to cry. We have been trying for 2 years now, so this feels like our miracle baby!!!
I was thinking about doing something cutesy, but it took us 4 years to get pregnant again - when it came back positive at 5:30 in the morning I woke is sleepin' butt screamin' we did it, we did it!
Although I did do something cute for the godmother, I bought a wand that lights up and plays music (kinda wanted to keep the wand) and made her a card with cinderella's fairy godmother on it. She's gearing up to start to TTC soon so on the inside I wrote "Okay (Fairy) Godmother, your turn... Everybody friggin' loved it.
I went to Carter's yesterday while DH was at work and bought a Big Brother shirt for my 21 mo old DS to wear. I put it under an open button down and when DH came home, he started playing with DS and didn't notice for a minute. When he read it he started dancing and screaming. My DS was so happy the whole plan worked out that he started dancing and screaming too (he has no idea why everyone is so excited).
My big mouth kept me from doing anything well thought or planned out. I went in the bathroom while he was peeing and showed him the first of many sticks i pee'd on and he said "what does that mean?" I said "I think I'm pregnant!" lol Then we hugged while he was still sitting on the can. How romantic lol
I wasn't feeling right for a while so I decided to take a test I didn't wait long enough for the second line and just assumed it was negative. A couple days later I went to throw something out and pick up the box randomly and saw that it was a positive. I freaked out called my best friend, my bf was out celebrating a good friends birthday by the time he got home I just had to tell him and that night we drove an hour to the next town just to buy another and it was positive too!
I gave a toast at date night dinner before a garth Brooks concert. I said "we better enjoy date night because after November it will be a lot harder." He totally didn't get it at first than teared up. I didn't get it on video like last time though.
This isn't our first and we weren't trying, so when I saw the test I was in shock and went out at 11:30pm to get more and obviously those came out positive, so the next day when he got home from work I said "so my period was late..." and handed him the test.
In a picture frame i taped the pregnancy test with We're expecting and baby sticker. I left it on the table and let him process it. When he looked at me he just hugged me and told me he was over the moon!
I had bought a onesie that said "Born to play soccer with my Daddy" when we first started TTC. I've kept it hidden in a drawer since then. I took a test a little early and it was negative, so I thought this month was a no-go too. But when what I thought was my period suddenly never got any heavier and then stopped, I thought I should take another one. This was when I woke up at 3am to pee. I was FREAKING out! I ran downstairs to get the onesie, and then ran back upstairs and got back in bed. I just laid there wide awake for HOURS waiting for him to finally wake up. During one of his roll-overs, I finally couldn't take it anymore and rubbed his arm to wake him up and then gave him the onesie. He was really confused because he thought I had my period, but then it finally clicked. It was fun.
I found out on a Sunday night and did not say anything until the next morning. I went and bought him a present- A card from Target with a huge thumbs up on the front and all the inside said was "Nice!". Then the book "Dude, You're Gonna Be A Dad". A onesie that says "I'm Handsome Like Daddy". Then put the pregnancy test in the bottom of the bag. I gave him the card, he looked at it and was like gee thanks... You woke me up for a card? Then I gave him the present and he looked in and saw the onesie and almost started to cry
The funny part is, a few days before I tested my best friend told me she had a dream and in it I was pregnant but we couldn't tell anyone. Then, the night after I took the test and knew I was pregnant my husband would NOT stop talking about babies. He kept bringing it up, but I wanted to tell him in a fun way so I had to keep it in.
@lanaloulittle - That's funny. When we told my MIL she said one of her co-workers had a dream that my MIL was going to have 3 grand babies due around the same time. At that point both of my SIL's told us they were pregnant but my MIL wasn't expecting us to be pregnant too.
I design and make jewelry so I have beading stuff everywhere along with the little gift boxes to put them in. My husband wasn't home when I found out and I didn't have time to do anything super cute. I took a piece of paper and wrote "I'm Pregnant! Nov 2015" on it and put that and the test in a jewelry box on the table. When he got home I nonchalantly said "Hey could you take a look at that one and tell me what you think?" He thought it was a necklace so he was really surprised when he opened it. This is our first and we've been married for 4 months. It took him 2 days to accept it.
I was due to go to a fertility specialist on the Monday as we had tried for 2 years without any luck. Had to wait 2 months to get an appointment so in those 2 months we didnt actively try. Just decided to leave it i.e no ovulation tests etc. Had been feeling a bit nauseous the week before but chalked it down to financial year at work i.e stress and lack of sleep. On the Sunday evening before my appointment i decided to take a pregnancy test as I had one in my cupboard. Looked at it and nothing. Had a bath put my glasses back on afterwards and saw a faint line had appeared. Couldnt contain my excitement told hubby straight away. We raced to the pharmacy to get the clearblue digital tests, and it said 2 to 3 weeks!!! We were both so emotional. Just shows what happens when you just relax.
I wanted to do something super cute, but I'm terrible about keeping secrets and I didn't have time after I processed my own shock! DH came home from work and I was standing in the entry way with my hands behind my back and told him I had two surprises for him. I told him to pick a hand. When he did, I passed him a glass of his favorite bourbon. Then he asked, "oh, do you have a cigar in the other hand?". I said, "no, but you'll need one to celebrate in November!". He looked at me very confused and then I passed him the test. He looked at it for a second and said, "does this mean you're pregnant?? We're having a baby?!". He was so excited!
I ran into the bedroom sobbing and woke him up! He just pulled the covers back and asked me to get in bed again and just held me for awhile. I think he had to process for a minute. It's our first !

When he got home, I said "guess what? It worked!". He got so excited and said "I knew it!!".
Also, are you in AB by any chance? My hubby use to work in the oil fields
He totally didn't get it at first than teared up. I didn't get it on video like last time though.
