I had my progesterone checked last month and this month. My specialist said it was on the low side both times. Two questions: 1. What should levels be around one week after ovulation? What's normal? 2. Would it make sense for the levels to be low the two+ months following an early miscarriage?
If I remember right, the number 1.2 sounds familiar from my convo with the specialist. I should have asked her what it SHOULD be, but I forgot. Figured I would ask you girls.
@Knottie4978096, I'm on tons of supplements now. D3, coenzyme Q, folic acid, myo-inositol (pregnitude), E, baby aspirin, and also two antibiotics for my inflamed endometrial lining. I decided to add wild salmon supplements just for the heck of it too. At this point, why not, right? Lol
I had 3 losses, so now it's the dreaded guessing game since most things came back normal (minus low prog the past two months and the slightly inflamed lining).
Oh, and the worst acne ever. Why yes, I'll take insult to my injury! Womp womp.
I had a miscarriage a month ago and my OB thinks it could have been due to low progesterone, so now every month on my ovulation date (day 18, the day I should ovulate- i start with day 1 as the first day of my period each month) I have to take progesterone pills until either my period starts or until day 35 on day 35 after my period if i have started my period again then I have to take a preg test if i get a positive pregnancy test i cont. taking the progesterone but if the test is negative then I stop the pill and wait on my period to start again at that point i start over at day one. I hope this makes sense, it was a little confusing to me at first and i had to have her explain it me a couple times.
@4N6s I had them tested 2 weeks after my miscarriage (i was 6wks along) and my level was in the twos, don't remember the exact number. I actually didn't know I had PCOS or anything wrong with my hormones until I had my m/c and they saw the cyst on my ovaries and then ordered blood work, all my blood work actually came back excellent except for my progesterone level. Since I didn't have pre-pregnancy blood work my OB said she couldn't 100% narrow it down to my progesterone being the exact cause of my m/c but she was almost positive that was the cause. She wants me to start the medication on my ovulation date that way if i do get preg. then the baby will have that to feed off of from day one instead of waiting until week 5-6 of baby growth and poss. have another m/c.
I had my progesterone level tested 1 week after ovulating for the past 2 cycles. Last time it was 12.4, and the RE said it was ok but wanted to see higher numbers. This time it was 11.6, and the nurse said "that's good!". Am I missing something?

@jerseymack23 Are you on progesterone on your tww? Many RE's automatically put you on it whether your levels are fine or not. I think that the number your RE looks for depends on how many follies you had that cycle... but I'm not totally sure about that.
No I'm not on progesterone. For all of my medicated and monitored cycles I've only produced 1 mature follicle.

I have PCOS and my progesterone was tested 7dpo and was 3.8, which is really low. Most doctors want between 10-20 at that point in time. My OBGYN prescribed progesterone to start day after ovulation until pregnancy test time but it's $315 for a 15-day supply and isn't covered by insurance. It just seems really expensive. I'll do it if I need to but am wondering if there's a cheaper option. If pregnant, doc says I'd need to take it until week 10, which would cost around $1,600.
