Wondering if anyone takes magnesium by nature made and is it safe while pregnant? If yes what is the right dose? The reason I ask is because I was having headache and nerve pain so my neurologists told me to go buy magnesium 400mg at my local store to help and this way a month before I knew I was pregnant. I don't see my neurologists for a few weeks and don't have my first ob appointment for a while so if anyone can help me because I don't know if it's safe with the little one.
Re: magnesium? is it safe? while pregnant?
How much magnesium you need
Pregnant women, 19 to 30 years of age: 350 milligrams (mg) of magnesium per day
Pregnant, 18 and younger: 400 mg
Pregnant, 31 and older: 360 mg
Breastfeeding women, 19 to 30: 310 mg
Breastfeeding, 18 and younger: 360 mg
Breastfeeding, 31 and older: 320 mg
You don't have to get the recommended amount of magnesium every day. Instead, aim for that amount as an average over the course of a few days or a week.
I take a daily 3-6-9 pill, but read on another board that you aren't supposed to take them while pregnant. Going to check with my doc this week before resuming!
