Ha!! Right now baby's room is still an open area... Walls aren't built, room needs paint, need a new window, new carpet, closet built.... Everything needs to be done!!
We live in a one bedroom duplex we won't be moving out of until next December or so. We don't have anything besides a few onesies that we got as Christmas presents. I really don't have any desire to buy anything until after the shower plus for right now it would just crowd out tiny home until baby is born anyways
We went to a second-hand sale today, where baby clothes were as cheap as 50 cents/onesie!! DH only let us get 8 newborn/0-3 month onesies, a hat, burp rags, and a boppie (for €2, which is like $3.25). I was dying to buy more clothes since they were so cheap, and they had all sizes, up to age 10! But we are moving from Germany to US in July, so DH is worried about luggage. Alas.
Just need a convertible car seat/stroller, somewhere for baby to sleep, and diapers, and we are done for now. Got a Baby Bjorn, diaper bag and swaddlers from SIL.
Baby's nursery will wait til we are in our final destination, probably January 2016.
Thanks to the ladies who are reassuring that LO doesn't really need much. And good luck to my fellow mamas on the move!
I bought a pillow shaped like an owl from Target so far. Priorities!
What is getting my heinie in gear is my baby shower approaching in April. I'm finishing up a list today and DH and I are braving Babies R Us tomorrow. I will feel a lot more on top of things after that. It's a good forcing function.
I found a crib, matching changing table, and the stroller we wanted all on sale, so I bought those as I'm pretty sure we are on our own for the bigger stuff (we may be gifted with some smaller stuff, but I doubt anybody will buy furniture). The stroller literally just got delivered right now. So I've began to get some items together, but the nursery is still a shambles. Need to move stuff out of there so that I can clean and get started
My husband and I are moving at the end of the month so we don't have anything yet. It's a little stressful but hopefully everything will get done in time or at least the necessities
@mellymar I am putting larger things on the registry for two reasons: a few relatives indicated they wanted to chip in on a larger item, and secondly we can get a discount from purchasing off our own registry - that's probably the main reason. I hope we don't come across as greedy though, now I'm worried about that!
@hoosonfirst I had them on my registry, too. But I still have other larger ticket items on there for others to buy. The carseat is still on there (I'm pretty sure my mom will buy that) and a breast pump, some other stuff. My sister already got me a pack n play, and I doubt my dad or in laws will buy anything. Its just not their style.
ETA - and I don't care if I come across as greedy. I have friends all over the country, and could use the help.
The only thing we have up is the crib and that's not even completely finished she also has a few clothes in a three tiered plastic drawers but that's it Everything else is in storage
Was motivated to put together the glider. Opened the box and only half the hardware necessary to put the thing together. So this is the nursery so far.
My husband and I are moving this spring, so we won't be putting together the nursery until we've moved. I haven't even picked out a crib. I have a couple storage containers with clothes/supplies, but otherwise I haven't done anything with the nursery. The baby's not going to notice whether or not everything matches, so I'll figure it out after we actually move.
My boyfriend and I bought the crib dresser and rocking chair really early and that was all we had until recently we have gotten some hand me downs, he painted the room and got the bedding. I was getting really anxious and am being impatient waiting for my shower lol there's still time though and most people wait until after the shower I just needed a project so it's pretty close to done
I jus started cleaning out the nurse yesterday it still has a ton of crap in it. I have a pack and play with bassinet so she'll be sleeping in that for awhile in our room. We are being gifted a crib car seat and stroller. But we got a bunch of stuff for xmas that is in a box downstairs. I did wash some of the clothes and then hung up the rest. I'm not due until June 18th so I feel like I have plenty of time still. But I also hate not feeling prepared and organized. It's a battle everyday on if going to get stuff done or not.

We just bought the owl pillow from Target too! Still not much done but I am starting to tell DH that stuff needs to start happening otherwise I will start freaking out, lol
Looks like hopefully no more snow days for the hubby and I to have time together so hoping to get the room cleaned up after his surgery next week...but so far the crib is up and a friend gave us her old bassinet so that's set up picking up a glider soon too from one of his coworkers!
We're gearing up to sell our house and have just started looking at new homes. We just loaded up half our crap into a storage pod today so we can stage. Only thing keeping me from FTFO that we have no new place is that my husband is remarkably calm.
And... that some of y'all are moving too and that it won't be the end of the world if I'm 8 years pregnant and moving, or that my son won't remember not coming home to a picture perfect Peter Rabbit nursery.
In a minor victory, DH finally admitted he doesn't really want to go to Babies R Us so I can start free reign on the registry He'd rather work on putting recessed lighting in the nursery. Win-win!
Also, he mentioned the due date is 3 months from today. My response was "technically 13 weeks and 1 day!" Don't rush it!
Not gonna lie, I'm pretty behind. My mom wants to buy us the crib as a shower gift, but the shower won't be until April 25, which is 5 weeks before my due date. We don't want to do too much decorating until we have the crib, so nursery work is pretty much at a stand still. Honestly, I'm not worried though. We do have a dresser and we're starting to stock up on clothes, since both grandmas-to-be and my sister are extraordinarily excited and can't resist the urge to shop haha. I'll be able to get a LOT done after the shower because at that point I'll exclusively be taking online classes, so I'll have more time anyway. It'll all work out
