Maternity Pants for Skinny Ladies?

edited February 2015 in June 2015 Moms
Pregnant women come in all shapes and sizes but the only maternity pants I've been able to find are way too big for me! I've managed to survive this long (I'm 22 weeks) wearing dresses over regular thick band yoga pants but it's getting to the point where they are getting tight or I have to fold them way down. I bought a belly band as well but I have the same problem when I wear it as maternity pants. I've always been on the thin side but my main problem is that I don't have a butt! Maternity pants don't fit in the hip/butt region (even xs) and belly bands don't keep my pants up over my tiny butt! I am also lanky so pant length is an issue for me when buying regular pants. Where can I find maternity pants and leggings for skinny chicken legs with out spending a fortune?

** please don't turn this into a discussion about pregnancy and weight/size- I just need pants!

  • Leggings will be your best friend.

  • Pink Blush has good skinny pants. Order one size smaller than your pre-pregnancy size.

7 for all mankind.. They run about 200 a piece but you get your measurement.. Like 25 or 26.. They fit amazing. Pre pregnancy weight and height for me is 5'7/ 99lbs. You might find them used on eBay or something..

I just seen you said without spending a fortune.. I guess I'll follow this and see what else is out there too. Lol
  • I'd say check out sears (not sure if you have that where you live) but they have a petite section and I'm pretty sure they have pants that fit people on the smaller side. I too was having that problem, I've been wearing leggings up til now pretty much.
  • Jcrew has maternity pants and they are thicker than leggings and just have elastic inserts. I've got two pairs and love them!!! They make them in petite, reg and tall. I had to order a size smaller than my pre pregnancy size and live in them for work!!
  • I don't really have this problem, but I will second H&M because I find their maternity pants tend to run super small. They're reasonably priced as well.

  • Old navy has one full panel style that comes in long and also are super skinny (I have chicken legs). They were $30.

  • Definitely H&M ...
  • I have a belly band but I don't like it. It's not very comfy. What I did was buy some jegging's. I usually wear a size small but this time I got a medium. They are a little short, but I have always had that problem because am tall and lanky. Because they are a size bigger than what I usually wear I can just pull them up to fit comfortably around my belly. They are still a bit big around my butt, but they stay in place (unlike the belly band). I paid $10 for each one at Sam's club.
  • Pink blush maternity! I have no butt either and their leggings are fab! I also bought a pair of skinny jeans from them and I love them! Super fast shipping too and they're always having sales!
  • Petite clothes are for short people 5'3" and under they have nothing to do with how thin you are so looking in the petite section won't be a good idea for you if you're tall- unless you are after Capri pants ;)Check out the gap and old navy. Other ppl have suggested h&m too, I find the quality to be crappy at h&m but If you're only wearing them for a few months im sure they will be fine. Pea In the pod has a lot of stuff too.
  • I found some 0s at a motherhood maternity outlet stores. I still haven't had to wear them yet but they are there when I need them.
  • Destination maternity- A Pea in the Pod
  • Prior to my pregnancy I was xs with no butt either lol...and so far old navy leggings and H&M maternity jeans (skinny) have worked the best. Most mat jeans are way too loose for me but H&M had a few to pick from. The other trick I still sometimes use on my favourite pants is the elastic band looped through the button hole, all you need is a long shirt or dress to cover. Figure I could get away with this for a few more days but it is getting tight :)
  • Pea in the pod has petite sizes, you can buy online and in the store.
  • H&M is the best they have lovely skinny jeans from size 8 :)
  • I'm the same way. Always been 00-0 and I was able to find a pair at Burlington Coat Factory and also a pair at Gordman's that were "Wallflower" brand. Good luck!
  • I'm really small too and nothing fits me. The only jeans I found that fit are from destination maternity: one kind Jessica Simpson skinny leggings jeans in petite xs!
  • H&M runs really small (at least a size or 2 smaller) and have sizes 4 and up.
  • H&M has a great pair of skinny jeans (really stretchy with a full tummy panel) that stay up really well on me and I have never had pants, maternity or otherwise, that have done that :)
  • I had luck at ann Taylor loft! The first pair I tried were way too short (I'm 5'8) but I just got a new pair of light wash skinny jeans that fit perfect. They were also on sale for 60% off so that's always a plus!
  • Try old navy size small. That's what I have and it's loose enough to last me until the end of my pregnancy
Yoga pants are good too. Go with your pre pregnancy size
