Anyone have any great ideas for a new daddy gift? Regardless of whether you plan to get your man one right away - we will eventually have fathers day too! That and my husbands birthday falls in April.
I was also wondering about this. I wanted to do something special for my husband, but haven't been able to think up any good ideas. My husband's bday also falls in April.
My hubby is getting a second daughter and a less bitchy hormonal wife. Best gifts ever! Haha! His bday is end of march so I already got him his gift. He wanted new skis and I thought it was a great idea to buy them for him last week so he could test them out this season before baby gets here.
I'd love some ideas as well. DH's bday is also in April. His main gift is the son I will soon pop out of my vagina but trying to think of something fun for his bday.
A manly diaper bag. Got my hubby a messenger bag from Dad Gear the Xmas before our son was born. He loved that it didn't look like a diaper bag, but had all the features.
Husband's birthday is in April as well. I wasn't going to get him anything but he asked if he could get a Springfield 1911 so that's his bday/man present for a while lol.
My due date is the 13th and my hubby's birthday is the 15th. So I will be giving him his daughter for his birthday, again. My first daughter was born on March 14th so that was his birthday present back in 2009.
We're doing newborn photos after baby arrives so for Valentine's Day I got DH a Texas Longhorns picture frame for his desk at work to hold one of the photos. He's a huge fan and one of the poses will have some sort of UT theme. He's getting our son and we just bought a new bedroom set so he's not getting anything else as a new dad gift.
I made my husband a "daddy basket" with his favorite snacks and drinks. He also likes micro brews so got him a couple packs. We don't have cable so I ordered a few tv seasons for those late nights. Got him little kid Legos for him to play with our son, a daddy loves u book, a daddy since 2015 tshirt, and a daddy proof onsie. I was planning on giving it too him when I went into labor but caved and gave it to him early since he's been so bummed about working so much and is excited about 3 months off with us. Told him he could have 1/2 the snacks and drinks now and save 1/2 for later. He loved it and thought it was super sweet.
I am due on 3/13 which is his bday! I did however get him a small "push" gift...a 6 pack of his favorite beer, a gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings for him and a friend and a coupon for a night out when the baby comes and he needs a break:) I took him out for his bday dinner last week to his favorite restaurant... While I had shoes that still fit!!!
I dunno, man. The idea of giving my DH a gift for having unprotected sex with me 9 months ago is kind of mind boggling. I've been through hell and back to have this kid, and the idea of having to go the extra mile to give him a gift chafes me, not going to lie.
Maybe I'm just grouchy because I haven't slept well in a month.
I did get my husband two things for the hospital. Just small gifts but in reality they are for baby. I bought bib on etsy says daddy's little fishing buddy and u of m baby blanket and hat.

I agree and I'm sorry, but we already have so much new stuff that we got from showers and family just giving us gifts. I really dislike the consumerism side of having babies that is pushed on us.
Yeh, its not so much a hospital gift as it is a hopefully useful birthday gift. I was trying to come up with something that would be clever for a new dad without having to just buy more STUFF for a birthday.
I bought my husband a $300 camera, that he can use for when the baby comes.one of my best gifts I've ever gotten him to document this new beautiful chapter in our life
My husband's birthday is in April and mine is in March...just today he told me he knows what he wants for his birthday - a record player. I'm like...we will see... what am I getting since I've carried this baby? I was planning for a cliché grill for Father's day since we just bought our first home and our last grill was stolen. But really I just want some delicious grilled food.

Don't get me wrong, I love stuff! I just don't think I need more pertaining to the baby right now. I usually like to buy my husband tickets to a game, comedy show, or concert.
I love giving gifts and love all holidays and making ppl happy, but honestly my gift to him is his first child and a normal wife again lol if I happen to see a little token for him that I think he'd like then I may pick it up, but so far that's it lol I also don't expect anything from him, he's a bit oblivious when it comes to those things...
I also gave my husband a gift basket that had little things like bandaids for the oops moments, glade for smelly diapers, books for him and our LO and books for him at the hospital. Plus other small things like snacks and drinks for the hospital stay. I had planned to give it to him at the hospital but our false alarm last night had me giving it to him too soon. He still loved it though!
We are buying a pretty expensive camera for the event. A gift for both of us. I did hint to my sisters(to hint to hubby) a while back about a birth stone eternity band I can wear on my ring finger but Mother's Day and my bday are around the corner
I've ordered a book on becoming a father which looks funny and useful, some comfy pyjama bottoms, a nice mug and some strong espresso! Plus his favourite snacks and some cans of Coke for hospital and his favourite beer for afterwards.
I do partially agree that we ladies have done enough bringing these babies into the world after 9 months of carrying them, but my SO has been so supportive throughout this pregnancy I feel like Its nice to thank him with a little surprise pressie.
This little one was a surprise for both of us, which we are over the moon about, and since then he has given up smoking, hardly drank anything and mostly eaten the same as me. This last trimester has been a nightmare for me with GD and PUPPPS and he has pretty much done everything. So I think he deserves something nice and it makes me feel a little better!

Agree... I feel as though the baby obviously gets things and I have gotten a few special presents from family members for being a first time mom and feel as though my husband deserves a little thank you for all the extra work he has put in around the house to get ready for the baby. My husband enjoyed his treats and really appreciated the gesture.
Hahaha! My husband gets 2 weeks off to care for his toddler (who is teething her second set of molars - SHE HAS MORPHED INTO A DEMON CHILD!), his wife (who is recovering from c-section), his dog (who is in heart failure), and his newborn daughter (who was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and is in a brace 24/7). The poor guy is happy to shower and sleep uninterrupted for 6 hours. Maybe in a few weeks we will be able to breathe and have a quick mini date, a welcome gift for us both.
