Anyone think about vaccination?

Re: Anyone think about vaccination?

  • Since I'm a first time mother and concerned for my child AFTER doing research on vaccinations I just wanted some quick opinions. I do not care about your trip to Disney World nor do I care for negative comments about my question. Thanks for those who answered seriously and piss off to the negative Nancys who are too bitter to be kind.

    Aren't you a peach.

  • @RNmama2b - I believe they do follow the CDC guidelines, he got 4 total vaccines at his 15month, I think it's because they don't actually count the combination ones as separate vaccines so neither do i
  • My child is on a very strict on-time vaccination schedule, and the most she has EVER had at once is three, and that's only because I went ahead and got her a flu shot that day. It's really not a big deal, if you just do it right and do it on time. These people have dedicated their lives to helping children be as healthy as can be. They want your child to be ok. It's their life's work.

I don't go here, but the 6 month visit LO had five, because I elected the flu shot. One was oral, however, then two in each leg - damn if I can remember which they were, I believe it was DTaP, Hib, and PCV. Rota was oral.
Weird! I guess it must vary to a certain degree, depending on the doctor? I did forget about the oral one, though. So maybe four at that appointment.

Pretty sure the Disney comments were the highlight of this thread.
  • My baby will be going to the top rated pediatrician office in the city, where the docs teach at a Med school at large university nearby, and they don't let you bring your kid to them if you don't vaccinate. They follow CDC guidelines (not sure the max at any one appt.) but will adapt based on medical needs of the baby. Trust your board certified doctor.

I agree. I am so tired of the vaccine threads, we have so many, they end poorly, the general concensus is vaccinate your children- if you have a different view or how to schedule it really should be discussed with the pediatrician to work out the best possible way around you. I too was suprised this thread remained as positive as it did- certainly the first of this kind to! As far as Disney- that is a much more exciting and fun topic to talk about, and much more positive! Disney away fellow vacation planners! I know I can't wait to be in sunny Florida with our new LO- and for us New Englanders- let's all focus our energy on thinking no more snow! Snow last night and I heard more tonight- ugh an inch is too much now- make the snow stop and the vaccine debate stop!

I'm over it! Another 5-6 inches last night, I just can't believe it!

Hate it hate it hate it! I want daffodils and tulips and hydrangeas, and roses! An outdoor Easter hunt too! Although we had some melting. I can finally see a little out my bathroom window- only 3/4ths blocked by snow :).

I'm sorry someone peed in your Cheerios! Lighten up! Be happy- life goes on even if your not happy- you got a much better response then anyone predicted. That says a lot. Hope your day gets better and you don't get this worked up on a daily basis. Did you know streas isn't good for your baby or you?
