First Fetus Pics: Post 'em if you got 'em!

I've noticed some of you have already posted your first ultrasound pics and many of you have talked about having an ultrasound already, so I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can all share and compare our first pics.  I know some people haven't had their first ultrasound yet, but it might still be interesting for them to see what to expect when they do.  If you would like to post, feel free to crop your pic or black out any personal information you don't want others to see like your real name, etc.  And, if you don't have a pic yet but would still like to participate, your positive and supportive comments on others' pics are welcome.  The format to follow:  Your baby's nickname (or real name if you've already decided), the gestational age at the time of the pic (what the baby actually measured at), the heart rate, and a cute/funny/witty comment about your photo.

  • I am going for an early ultrasound tomorrow due to some bleeding. I will be 5/3 tomorrow. I know it's really early and am just wondering if these ultrasound pics were transvaginal or your usual ultrasound. Just really hoping to see something to ease the mind a bit.

  • Mine was transvaginal and based on the detail in everyone else's pic I'm guessing their's were, too.  Abdominal scans don't usually show much this early.  From what I understand, some people see nothing at 5w3d and some see just the sac.  Don't worry if you don't see anything (my first TV ultrasound at around the same time showed nothing.)  I feel like a hypocrite telling you not to worry because I was freaking out for over a week until I finally saw the baby two days ago.  But, really, think happy thoughts :-)
  • Emma is right, mine was also transvaginal.
  • Mine was not transvaginal and you can see everything on mine which I was very happy about.
  • Beautiful pictures!! :) I'll post mine once I get one where we can see the baby. When I had mine all they got was the gestational sac. I too was freaking out, and still am a little but trying not to overwhelm myself.

@smfeuro They should've done a transvaginal one! I was about to cry when she couldn't find the baby during my abdominal one, worrying that the baby had stopped developing. Once she had the dildo cam inside me for a few minutes, I asked her if she found the baby, and she told me yes. I wish she would've told me as soon as she found the baby, so I wasn't laying on that table about to cry! Don't worry, I'm sure you're fine. She said if you're less than 9 weeks, it's hard to find the baby through an abdominal ultrasound. Good luck!

    It was a TV one.

  • @ feeohhnaax7: The tech did an abdominal with me first before the transvaginal and, during the abdominal, I kept asking her if she saw the baby and she kept saying, "It's not for me to say."  I completely understand your frustration!  Then a few minutes into the transvaginal she said, "In a minute, I'm gonna turn the screen so you can see."  As soon as she turned the screen and I "identified" the baby, she then pointed out the yolk sac, fetus, and heartbeat for me.  Maybe legally they aren't really allowed to tell you until they're 100% sure the baby is or isn't there.
  • @MrsN102714, I had an ultrasound around 5 weeks when I had some bleeding. What they were able to see at that stage was the gestational sac and yolk sac.

As long as the sac is measuring around 5w or so, and you don't have any evidence of bleeding around it. that's a good sign and they'll be able to see and hear more at your next appointment.

All the ultrasounds I've had prior to 12 weeks were TV.

Thanks! I'm just really hoping that's what they do. The waiting is already killing me and I think walking out of there not seeing anything will just keep eating at me.
