Basic biology lesson. In the classroom typical cycle, at 13 days passed your lass period you have yet to ovulate. You have to have sex prior to ovulation, then ovulate, the sperm and egg to meet (fertilization ) and then the fertilized egg (zygote) to implant in the uterus. This typically happens 7-9 days after ovulation. It then takes on average another 3 days to make enough HcG (pregnancy hormone ) to turn a pregnancy test positive. So if you ovulate on cycle day 14, then implant 7 days later (cd 21 plus) then need 3 plus days for a positive hpt, that would put you around cd 24, or 10 days after ovulation.
You should test when you typically expect to get your next period
If I were you I would wait till you missed your period. It all depends. Of course our bodies are different. I didn't get a positive not till 7 weeks pregnant! And now missed my period for almost 3 weeks and nothing! All negatives! So it all depends! Good luck!
I would not waste a test, unless by some weird chance you CONFIRMED ovulation only a few days after AF. That's not really how the female body works, typically. You should take some time and learn what happens during the reproductive cycle, you obviously lack this knowledge.
5 days? I don't understand why there was a problem with me asking this question some people can be so touchy.
No one was touchy except you. You were educated in a clear, no-nonsense manner. The thing is, you wouldn't have asked the question if you had the biological facts, and so they were given to you. Instead of taking offense, take notes. Its kind of awesome to learn something, KWIM?
This. and you are saying that you ovulated on cd 8? Not unheard of, but very rare.
Re: How soon after can I test is 13 day after last period stil to early?

How did you confirm your ovulation?

I guess you could, if your period was 10 days long or something.
