According to americanpregnancy.org: Skiing and Pregnancy: Both water and snow skiing have high incidents of falls and pose significant risk of injuries. Both water and snow skiing are not recommended during pregnancy.
I wouldn't risk it. I'd be paranoid if I even had a minor fall.
I went snowboarding when I was only 4 weeks pregnant, wiped out one time, and was so freaked out I haven't been back. If there was no risk of falling I think it would be fine but if you're rocking a bump your baby is no longer protected by your pelvis when you fall. I would suggest talking to your doctor about your concerns.
I usually ski at Least once every weekend during the winter but since i found out i am pregnant I went once at 6 weeks and once at 8 weeks and then stopped because my doctor basically said you can ski in your first trimester but there is a chance you could get injured and if so there's a chance your baby could get injured so I figured not worth the risk and decided to just stop. Now I'm at 13 weeks and I'll tell you the winter sure is a lot more boring without skiing.....
I live in upstate NY and we've had great skiing weather. I keep having to come up with lies as to why I can't go when my friends invite me. I will be 12 weeks Wednesday and am just too nervous if I fall. I can generally go an entire day without a wipeout, but it's not something I want to risk. It's definitely a sport that gets put on the high risk list. Even though you'll still be early, and may only have a slight bump, if at all, you balance still starts to get affected as well by LO.
Everyone stated one of the biggest concerns: falls.
Another concern is just the type of physical exertion it takes to glide from the ski lift to whatever hill you're doing down. All the bending, pushing, twisting, etc. It uses a lot of your core which could cause abdominal muscles some damage and torn ligaments (round ligament pain). I wouldn't ski, no.
It's not like you can't do anything physical when pregnant. Skiing is just an extreme sport. Have fun in Colorado! I really want hot cocoa now lol.
While I would not do downhill skiing, you could try cross country skiing! The risk of falling is soooo much lower (since, you know, no hills) but it's still a good workout outside.
I live in Colorado and have a season pass so I specifically asked my doc the very same question. She said I could definitely do ski/snowboard through the first trimester but at 12 weeks I should stop. She explained that before that the baby is protected because it's really still inside your hip bones. At twelve weeks the babe may be growing outside of that safe zone. If you're showing at all I would not risk it even if you're a really good skier because I'd be more worried about everyone else on the hill. If you do go, I highly recommend sticking to blue runs because they're not super difficult and are a lot clearer of people than the greens. Hope you have a great time no matter what!
My colleague went skiing around 20weeks. I probably would as well. It's not my own ability that I doubt, I'll just stick to the gentle slopes and take it slowly, it's other people crashing into me that I would be scared of...
My doctor told me at 8 weeks that I need to avoid any sports that involve balance -- no skiing, no ice skating, no biking, etc. she said falling is too great of a risk. Also, if something happens when your in s mountain could take a while to get back down & get help. Maybe snow shoe-ing or cross country skiing? I hope you enjoy your trip!
I have gone before being pregnant. Just took it easy. As someone else said though it's the other people that might crash into you. We are going Over easter weekend. I'll be about 15 weeks. I will probably Be sticking with just the bunny hills as we will be taking our little kids and teaching them as well! Cross country is an awesome alternative too:) be safe and have a blast!

I went snowboarding at 6 weeks. I'm not a beginner and am confidant going down blues. On the first day, I took it easy and stayed on the bunny slopes. The second day, I was so paranoid going down blues that it wasn't fun for me. I'd say to not risk it.
I wouldn't risk it. There are too many things that could go wrong even for the most experienced skier. In the grand scheme of things playing it safe this winter and not skiing is less sucky than something happening to your little one
