Trying to Get Pregnant

I'm 3 days late but my tests are negative. Could I still be pregnant?

Hi ladies!

My husband and I are TTC. We have been trying for last 3 months and finally this month my period is late! I'm 3 days late and I've taken 2 tests but both came back negative. I'm trying not to get too excited because I'm fearful of the disappoint if my period shows up. But could I be pregnant? What do you think the chances are? Has anyone experienced negative tests when they've been a few days late but eventually found out they were pregnant? Any advice/thoughts would be so helpful! :)

  • I should mention that my period is very regular. I get it on the 28th day every time! Never skips a beat.

  • You're regular until you aren't. Sounds like you ovulated later this month if you haven't seen your period yet. Could you still be pregnant and its just too early? Yes. Could you not be pregnant and your period is later than your norm? Yes.
  • If your period is later than you expect, it could be that you ovulated later than you normally do. Wait a few more days and test again if AF has not shown up. For future cycles, consider temping so that you are able to confirm ovulation and you will know when to actually expect your period.

If you are currently receiving negative tests, then you are not pregnant.

  • @taraemerald11 its against TOU to ask if you are pregnant.

So yes, congrats, you're having twin velociraptors. Watch out for the talons as they progress down the birth canal.

My apologies. I didn't mean any offense or to go against any policies. This is my first time using this forum and I was happy to be able to speak to other women going through the emotional time of trying for a baby.
  • I think the chances of you being pregnant right now are slim. If you start charting BBT and CM, you can avoid testing too early. Good luck.

  • We can't tell what your chances are, we aren't seers.
Your body will tell you either way, but if it does not come in a few days retest.
  • Any news? I too am a few days late, but I am getting mixed answers on different hpt

"But it does happen" is where you went wrong.

It's also very hard to read your posts. Use real words please.
Remember when I said that people can't answer a question if other people can't read it, and I got yelled at by noobs for harping on spelling and grammar?

    Point in case.

And then someone tried to chalk it up to ESL, like how could I "make fun" [read: ask for actual words]  of someone if English is possibly a 2nd language?  I'm sorry, but shorthand and Letters As Words is not language.
Everyone makes typos, but I have no toleration for poor grammar.

    Poor grammar? Typos??

Well here it is, hope u ladies get a clearer picture this time . And tells u why I was so interested in this post !!

My aF was due on 26th feb, and now late for 5 days, no symptoms whatsoever , so I just guessed I didn't chart properly, charting for the first cycle, don't have my hands on right now !!
I have been married for more than 2 yrs, I concieved two months after my wedding but we weren't ready for it then, (lots of personal problems)
Been ttc since 7 months and somehow felt as if I was being punished !!!

I got my bfp today, went to the doctor, my blood test report confirms it !! I just couldn't be happier!! After 7 long cycles!!! I cried my heart out but this time with happiness!!!

Well, I wish all of u lovely ladies lots of luck and wish u get urs very soon!!! Shifting to the other boards !!! Hope to see u all veryyyy soon !!!
  • 7 long cycles? You do know that it's completely normal for a couple to conceive in the first 12 months of trying, right?

  • I can't wait until the nub theory posts. She has to know the gender NOW!
and I have feeling she will say gender no matter how many times she is corrected.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Everyone knows the wait of TTC is long and hard, so if it was a long 7 months for her everyone should completely understand. I know people wait longer than that but everyone is different and if it was a long 7 months for her so what! Just because they have be TTC for only 7 months, maybe she's been wanting a baby for years before that, so yeah that "long 7 months" might just be long. Take your negativity somewhere else!

Before you white knight too hard, did you read this gem?

Been ttc since 7 months and somehow felt as if I was being punished !!!

That's my issue. Oh, and the abuse of the poor exclamation mark.
  • Yes I read the whole thing. So she used a bunch of exclamation points, if you dont like it hmmm maybe you can leave the post?!!! We are all supposed to support one another here not bash each other!!!!

You read her entire post and you seriously cannot see why this sentence is offensive to women struggling with IF?

"Been ttc since 7 months and somehow felt as if I was being punished !!!"
  • And no response despite being active 3 min ago. That's what I thought.

    Ummm, no.
  • YOU don't have to support anyone. Some people use these boards for advice and support, not to get talked down to. Yeah she probably does feel bad that it's harder for some people but it's not like she went on your post and said she had it bad by not being pregnant after 7 months.

Okay, firstly I did not mean to offend anyone, it was a long time for me, its a personal thing.
If you don't like my grammar or my way of Typing or any other problems . Well don't reply then, and do not bother to reply back.
Everyone here claims that this is a support group , to find some other women who are dealing with similar problems-
How many of u actually said congratulations for your bfp???
If you claim to be full of support and courtesy and i am the one with bad English and grammar, don't I still deserve a small congratulations ???
    Don't need to say anymore.
All the very best to all you ladies out there, I will still pray that u get ur bfp very soon!

Not hoping for a BFP, but thanks. If you had been around when this was a better site, you still wouldn't have gotten congratulations for your drive by BFP.
