My cat follows me EVERYWHERE lately. Sleeps with me, gets out of bed with me.. I can't even go pee with out her following me and sitting by my feet. She also sits right by the tub when I soak.. Never more than afew feet away lol
Our cat is awesome. He's very tolerant of an over affectionate 3 year old and 5&8 year olds who like to dress him and wrap him up like a baby. He's been even more loving with me and wants to be with me all the time the last few days as well.
My dog has always been affectionate, but since I have been pregnant he has been extra needy and lovable. I cant stand in a room without him wanting to be held by me on some days. He also lays across my belly at night, which of course I think is the cutest thing ever. I think they can sense something is up for sure.
No experience with cats but my friend said her dog did the same thing and she went into labor two days later. About two weeks ago my dog wouldn't let me get more than 2 feet away from him all day ... Still pregnant. I think our pets can sense something's changing but I don't think it gives much of a timeframe. Good luck though!
My dog has always been able to tell when I'm pregnant and is much more cautious when I am- no jumping and that sort of thing. He has been acting really weird the past few days following me around and making me nervous that he knows something is up- I need baby to cook for another week at least so hopefully it's just a coincidence.
My dog is always clingy & loves to cuddle but the last few days he has been my shadow even more & extra cuddley to me. He's looking at me like he realizes something is about to change & he better get his time in now!
My younger, bigger, slightly less 'intelligent' dog was one of my giveaways that I was pregnant in the beginning. She's such a daddy's girl and doesn't generally cuddle me, but that all changed! And now, my older dog (who has always been more 'mine') will not leave me alone. He sits next to me in the park, he follows me to the bathroom, and the other night I snuck out of the room and my husband said he panicked as to where I was. My theory is that, like cancer alerting dogs and diabetic alert dogs, they (and cats too, no doubt) can smell the changes in our bodies. They may not know what it is (although the way they lean on my belly to sleep implies they know at least where the change is coming from) but they know there's something different, and that we need looking after!
My cat has become obsessed with cuddling me and my belly. She normally only sits on laps for an hour or so before she's done. Now I can't sit down without getting cuddled within an inch of my life. My poor husband feels unloved . She'll sit next to him and stare at me until my lap is free.
Re: Can cats sense if am going into labor
My husbands cat is welcoming the baby by puking on our leather couch. Thank you for that gift mittens.
