I'm excited to get some differing opinions on names. I've become obsessive about wanting a unique but not bizarre name for our daughter. DH thinks im a little crazy. He doesn't mind choosing a name that is common or popular while it irks me a ton. For what it's worth, He's Michael (doesn't get more common than that) and I'm Caitlyn (mostly Caity... common name, slightly more uncommon spelling) and our last name is uber Italian starting with an S and ending in an O (5 syllables). Here are the names we've discussed:
Isabelle (our favorite but i hate how trendy it's become) Aurora Quinn Hailey Zoe (Zoey)
Right now we're closest to choosing Isabelle Quinn but I'm worried I'll regret it because she'll be 1 of 10 isabelles in her classes. What are your thoughts ladies? Any other suggestions that are a little out of the box? I appreciate any thoughts/ opinions!
Aurora is great. It has the same appeal as Isabelle without the popularity.
Quinn is masculine
Zoe is trendy IMO
Hailey is too cutesy for me
Bianca
Rosalie
Isadora
Nina
Seraphina
Penelope
Audra
Vivian
Helena
Miranda
Linnea
I like unique-but-not-weird names too. Not sure if any of these are your style, but here are some of my favorites... (although many of these are quickly rising in popularity, unfortunately)
My youngest is Isobel. This is the Scottish spelling. I fell in love with it when I was reading "The Night Circus". We do run into other other versions of the name frequently, but she's the only one with this spelling that I've met.
DH and I also liked the name Isolde, but decided it was too weird.
I always said that I would give my children unique names. Well, it turns out that my favorite names for boys are the classics...which are very popular! It does irk me a bit that they will end up being one of several in their class, but I love their names. I think that if you love a name, it shouldn't matter how popular it is.
Isabelle Quinn is a very beautiful and spunky name. Here are a few suggestions for you if you still aren't convinced:
I appreciate all the feedback ladies! You have some wonderful suggestions too. My dh and I are definitely taking some of these into consideration but it also helps to know that many of you like Isabelle Quinn too
I don't see any of these names as "unique." Aurora maybe, but that feels to hippy dippy to me. Quinn is a boy's name. Isabelle is pretty and I have always liked it, but it is too trendy now for my taste.

Why not Quinn Isabelle or Quinn Isabella....seeing as how Quinn is less popular than Isabelle? We also have a very Italian last name and if our LO is a girl, we've chosen a unique and girly name that goes well with it...Aviana (Ah-vee-ah-nah). Other girly Italian-ish names we tossed around....Gianna, Viviana, Oliviana, Evia (Eh-vee-ah)...I love feminine-sounding names ending with A if you couldn't tell, LOL. Just some suggestions that I believe to be unique and out of the box
I was trying not to go too Italian with the first name because i didn't want it to sound too sing-songy if that makes any sense. Plus I'm Irish and while I'm not looking for a super irish name, I wanted a little balance from our last name. I LOVE Maeve but DH is not a fan at all. Getting Quinn into the name is our compromise since that sounds more Irish to me. After all, this girl will have her italian last name for a lot of her life so it's only fair to balance it out a little.
I have to respectfully disagree with everyone who says Quinn is a boys name. It might sound silly but it was a name of one of Barney's gfs on How I met your mother and Quinn was Daria's older sister on Daria (where i actually first fell in love with the name in high school hahaha).
I love Quinn and Zoe! I can relate to not wanting your kid to have the same name as everyone in her class. I had 3 friends name their kid Lily in one month (and more in surrounding months)... two named them Lily Grace! I wouldn't want to be a tiny Lily right now

EXACTLY! I have so many friends on facebook with children named Lily, Penelope, Charlie, Olivia... I just feel like i don't wanna have my kid and have everyone react like "oh another one...". Not that anyone else's opnion matters but you seem to understand what i mean.
I love Quinn BUT I can't use it. It's one of my best friends favorite names and if she has a daughter someday she called it. I respect that, too many beautiful names out there to distroy a friendship over a baby name. LOVE it though!

On Glee Quinn is a girls name. IMO it's a unisex name like Emerson or Jordan etc. But I know a lot more girl Quinns than boy Quinns.
I'm Caitlyn too! Do you find it irritating that no one knows how to spell our name?! I started going by Caite (Kate) but no one knows how to spell that either. Anyway... I love Isabelle, we can't use it for family reasons. I can tell you from having an Ava, when you have a child with a popular name they will be one of many. But even with my other kids with less popular names (Tucker and Sadie) there are some in the school. If it's a name you love, just use it. She will be your Isabelle (or whatever you choose).
If you are looking for other suggestions I love Hadley, Harper, Lorelai, Lucy, and for the more Italian sounding names Giada, Giuliana, and Angelina.

I love meeting other Caitlyns! I agree it stinks that most people cannot spell my name, even on cards at my wedding lol so frustrating I want to scream "It's spelled right on the invitation!!!". Despite the spelling annoyance and the lack of finding stuff with my name on it as a little kid (I always wanted a license plate or tooth brush that had it spelled right) I appreciate my more unique spelling haha.
I appreciate your feedback! We are definitely coming to terms with accepting that it's okay if she's one of many isabelles if it turns out that's our favorite name. Now we just need to decide if that's the front runner haha. Naming a human is so much pressure!

Mara, Audra, Iris, Sadie, Eleanor, Lila, Audrey, Delia, Bonnie, Violet, Calla, Isla, Clara, Eliza, Caroline
Also FWIW, Hailey is extremely common in my area!! I teach quite a few Haileys/Haleys.
What about Violet, Maeve or Willa?
I suggest Ariadne and Demetria

I know only one person with each name, and they are both beautiful/kind ladies.
