My shower will be May 2nd which puts me at 32 weeks. However, I have a short cervix and will probably be on complete bed rest. Fingers crossed things get better and everything works out okay.
I am so excited to say mine is in the end of March and is a Nautical theme. My best friends really out did themselves! They showed me some of the handmade decor, and I can tell you I am in love with them all! They made a float for everyone who comes to sign! I can't wait! Super excited!
Not having a shower. Which stinks cause it's my first. We are 7 hours at least from any family and just moved to the area in October so we only know a handful of people. I don't work so no work one either. We are posting our registries on Facebook in hopes family and friends will help us out. Has this mommy freaking out a bit. Still have a while before baby comes but I just want things to be ready.
I totally feel you. Its really kind of scary, in a way. Reminds me of how far we are from any sort of support system, for anything. We are also hoping our friends from far away help us out. Good luck
Good luck to you too. hopefully everything gets done and is ready for both babies. We are smack in the middle between any family. I'm from Florida and he's from California so any type of support system is far away. Luckily the families get to be here for after the baby is born but it's still no fun to go through this alone. I always thought my mom would be over at my house on days I couldn't get out of bed cause I was so sick. We are trying to get baby girl announcements done so we can send those to family and friends without Facebook. So fingers crossed we get some help that way.
No one in my family or friend group has mentioned anything about a baby shower for me yet.... Is anyone else in that same situation?
Yes! Me too! EDD June 4th and not a Word from anyone. It's my first baby so it feels kinda weird to not have anyone planning anything, but I think people are just busy with life and not realizing how close we're getting to baby being here already! Only 14 weeks left, and I'd like to have a shower before 36 weeks... So time is ticking. I'm not going to ask someone to throw me a shower though... I think that's so tacky!
@megtyrrell@lilmissmaego I'm a FTM and even though my fam was excited to throw me a shower, I did have to give some input - like how far out it should be. They may just not know the typical drill. It's the first grandkid in my side of the family too. Don't worry, I'm sure someone will be celebrating you in one way or another!
I hadn't heard anything about a shower until last night. My mom spilled the beans because she was confused as to who was messaging her and asking about it. She didn't understand the concept of a group facebook message and thought it was one person having their own conversation, lol
I've had a few friends mention it, but no one has really taken control and gotten things going. One of my best college buds said she would start planning, and I love her for it, but I feel bad because she lives like 6 hours away. I just gave her the names of my local friends who expressed interest, so I'm guessing she will get the ball rolling. I'm not one to push.
March 29th (I'm due June 28th). I know.. SO early but my mom said so many places were booked up with communions and graduations later in the season. So im looking on the bright side, at least i won't be super large and uncomfortable plus I'll have lots of time to get gifts back to my house in jersey (my shower is in long island) and make returns/ exchanges if we get anything we dont need.
While ew're on the topic, has anyone started thinking about what they're wearing? I'm already worried! End of march might be too soon for maxi dresses (which was gonna be my plan)
Re: When's your shower?
Soon to be Momma to Elliott ( 06.04.15 or sooner)
Good luck to you too.
