Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

Hello there!

This is my second time around on the bump. Since my first I develop hashimoto. Does anyone else have it? How are you managing?

Re: Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

  • I have it. My Endo is managing it and testing my Free T4 and TSH monthly. It's been steady between 1 and 1.5, which is normal for pregnancy.

Are you seeing an Endo? Do you know your levels?

    Congrats!

I have hypothyroidism and I just was tested and came back at Tsh 17!! So they upped me to 175mcg from 125. They want me to come back in 6 weeks and be checked again.
  • They also told me that normally when you get pregnant you should automatically start taking 2 extra pills a weeks

Yes. I now take an extra pill on Sat/Sun.
  • Yep! That's exactly what they told
Me too. But that was before my blood results came back. Now I'll just take the higher dosage. I have already gained like 5 lbs too so I hope that was part of the reason.
  • I have Hashimoto's and normally just manage it through my regular doctor, but she recommended that I start seeing an endocrinologist since thyroid can be so tricky (and critical) during pregnancy.

Already I had to actually lower my dose of levoxyl because I was feeling super jittery and weird and asked to get blood work done to check my thyroid and turns out, it was too high, so she lowered me from 100 to 88. I just put in the call today to make an appt. with the endo.
  • I have Hashimoto's as well. I'll get the results of my last thyroid levels check tomorrow to see whether they need to be adjusted.
  • was diagnosed 2 yrs ago... both OB and endo are watching it... tsh was 3.6 in week 4... now getting bloodwork every 4 weeks.... so thankful I have AWESOME drs!!
  • I have it as well. I've taken out any harsh chemicals in my life and use only natural products. I also went gluten free with my first child and that helped tremendously so I continued. I just found out I'm expecting again. I have a dr apt with my endo next Thursday so they had me take an extra pill today and then Monday and again Thursday when I go to see him. I am on 88 of synthroid. With my first pregnancy I had my blood checked monthly and the dose gradually went up to 125.
  • I've got my doctors appointment to see if my medicine needs adjustment. I've been in synthroid since I was 13 or 14yo. I'm expecting it will need to be changed from what I've read. Good luck!
  • My blood work came back fine, no adjustment needed so far.
  • Hi! I have hashimoto as well, diagnosed about 10 years ago. TSH was 3.3 before my pregnancy. I wasn't happy with that. I wanted to get it below 2.5 but my doctor kinda refused to higher my medication. I'm now 7,5 weeks pregnant and just got the results back from the blood test last week. TSH was 0.6!!! No idea why it's that low but I'm happy with it and I feel good! :)
