Just for fun, and an easy thread at that: when's your shower?

Mine's April 18, EDD June 8. Family wanted to throw it on May 2 and I politely asked for it to be more than 4 weeks out from due date... I'm glad they are awesome and flexible. I want a few weeks cushion to get anything I don't yet have, plus it's a 2.5 hour drive.

Baby shower is aimed for May 17th, my EDD is June 7th. Looking forward to it! My best friend and our moms are throwing me a rubber duckie themed party and letting me help because I'm annoying like that and I'm complety excited.

Where my boyfriend family. And my family are so big, I'm having 2 showers thrown for me. His sister and mom are throwing one the 14th of March and then my cousin and Nan are throwing one the 28th of March. I know they are early but even they are so excited cause it's a first grandchild on my boyfriends side haha but I'm okay with that. Lol

Forgot to add that DH's cousin asked to throw him a diaper party. Apparently it's when the guys get together, drink beer, and give him diapers of different sizes, lol. Supposed to be in May, I guess

April 12th for me. Sister is flying in and it was either that or May. I wanted plenty of time to get things in order, buy remaining stuff after, plus shower is still 3 hours away with a few overnights involved.

My mother in law is hosting one for DH's side of the family on April 11 and my mom is hosting one for my family on April 25. My mom originally wanted to hold mine the weekend of May 9, but that's only 3 weeks before my due date (June 2) and I live almost 4 hours away from where she does, so I asked if she could push it back a few weeks. Thank goodness she said yes!

I know my coworkers will throw me a shower, but I don't know when yet. The showers we do are really more like a happy hour at a restaurant combined with gift opening. Most coworkers give some money towards a joint gift (or gift cards) so that doesn't take too long. Then, since we're far from our families, we'll head home this August for some meet-the-baby BBQs/picnics. I'm looking forward to those! This thread is reminding me that we have to pick dates, but it seems so far away yet!

ETA: I phrased it so part sounded like I was having more than one kid! Just one

I'm pretty sure I'm having two... One on March 28th and one at work the week of April 13. My EDD is June 1 and I begged to have them early. I'm already feeling pretty large so I'm grateful people were willing!

They are planning mine memorial weekend that Sunday. My sister is flying in from Miami to have her bridal shower the day before. I would have rather not have it on a holiday weekend but it was the only long weekend my sister could get for work. I'm due June 30th

I'm at least 3-4 hours flight from anybody who would throw me a shower, so I'm not having one as far as I know. I've only lived here for 7 months, which is not enough time to make lasting friendships and have only worked for 4 months, which is IMO not enough time to expect one from work. My version of a shower is to release my registry / wishlist on fb so all my friends all over the country will hopefully help us out by buying us something we need and having whatever store ship it direct to us. My sister and I are reviewing my wish list this week with hopes to release it out around the end of the month so we have enough time for people to (hopefully) buy and ship to us. It sounds tacky, but I am also going to set up a go fund me for small donations from friends across the country to contribute $5, $10 or $20 instead of buying us something small that we don't need like clothes (I have a LOT of hand me down clothes coming) so that I can use the funds to buy the more expensive items that we may not get from our registry (ie a breast pump or something).

My bro actually suggested hosting the shower at a brewery. Which .... Is why I like my family. Showers are boring!

They might be surprising you! This is what my MIL intended... But she shared an invitation list with my husband on Google drive and he left his account logged in on my laptop. I didn't realize it, saw the list...and surprise was ruined. But I was, of course, thrilled!

I don't have a date yet, but my coworkers said they want to throw it in March so I still have time to pick up all the stuff on my registry that I don't receive as gifts. Due June 17.

Not having a shower. Which stinks cause it's my first. We are 7 hours at least from any family and just moved to the area in October so we only know a handful of people. I don't work so no work one either. We are posting our registries on Facebook in hopes family and friends will help us out. Has this mommy freaking out a bit. Still have a while before baby comes but I just want things to be ready.

Getting so excited for my friends/family shower. My mom has planned it with the help of a few others since my sister who would be having lives in LA and I live in upstate NY. Mine is on March 28th and I'm due on June 2nd. I think the one at work will be at the end of April.

I totally feel you. Its really kind of scary, in a way. Reminds me of how far we are from any sort of support system, for anything. We are also hoping our friends from far away help us out. Good luck
