Remy or Harper?

Remy Rose or Harper May? Hubby wants rose as middle name either way but I like may too..

Re: Remy or Harper?

  • Harper!! Remy is all boy to me

  • Well both are masculine but at least Harper is currently very trendy on girls so people will have an idea she could be female. Remy is 100% masculine and has no business being on a female.

  • Agree that Remy is all boy!

  • I freaking LOVE Remy, but it has no business being slapped on a girl. I hate the trendiness and sound of Harper, but it's better than Remy on a girl.

  • Not a fan of either. Rose is a nice first name.

  • Neither...
    Holly rose?
  • Both  awful but harper is less awful....i guess
  • I like Harper but it's too trendy for me at the moment. Never heard of a girl named Remy... Are girls named this in your area? I'm afraid people will assume she's a boy. (I love Remy for a boy, however). Love your middle names! But I prefer "Mae" spelling :)
  • Never heard of a boy named Remy in this area!! Love it for a girl and have considered it myself.
  • I've heard remy for both boys and girls. Harper is Trendy at the moment which makes me kind of shy away from it. Rose and may are both family names. I hadn't considered them being so masculine but hey this is our first girl after three boys maybe that's why lol.

Obviously in the minority, also a new poster but I love Remy for a girl. I know its historically masculine (I lurk like crazy and frequent BTN) but I would never *hear* that name and think "boy". It's on our girl list. Harper is terrible though. ETF: spelling is hard
  • I worked with a girl named Rema, which I think for a girl is better than Remy
  • I know a girl with twin daughters named Ryan and Remy.
I prefer Remy over Harper due to the trendiness of Harper. In 20 years Harper will be the Tiffany or Jessica of my youth.

That is awful. Remy is Gambit and Ryan is DH. Both are masculine names and should NEVER be used for girls.

Yeah. Seriously the masculine names on girls trend needs to die.
"I love you honey, I just wish you had a y chromosome"
"just remember dear, men are more important then women. Thats why I gave you a mans name!"

Also, fine, Remy I can kinda see how people might think it's feminine, but Ryan? RYAN? That name has PENIS all over it.

Ryan is extremely popular for girls in my area. I don't get it either. It's such a great boy name.

Well, if the kids were had by women who were nerds in the 90's, it might be out of frustration for realizing that finding a real life Remy LeBeau was, sadly not to be. Cause it be weird to name your son after the fictional dude you wanted to bone, but not your daughter?

Enh. I just wanted another excuse to post Gambit pics.

  • I think Harper Rose sounds beautiful!
