Im 8w6d and starting to feel uncomfortable in my jeans. I did the rubberband trick under a sweater but I had to pull them up every few minutes, the whole day! I bought maternity jeans today and let me tell you, they are glorious!! I wish I had worn them BEFORE I was pregnant lol. Has anyone else made the switch yet? I highly recommend it ; ) also, I'm going to blow so much $$$ on maternity clothes because they are SO cute

@MiromiM‌ I was thinking about buying one but then I read some reviews that said sometimes it slides and bunches down instead of keeping your pants up! I figured I'd end up buying maternity pants anyways.
  • I loved maternity jeans they were so comfy, and so happy I saved all my maternity clothes. But I also can't wait to shop for some new items! Have you tried motherhood maternity?! That's where I got a lot of stuff and just loved it! I haven't had to wear them yet but I would imagine not much longer, clothes are definitely starting to get snug lol!

That's where I went! I lovelovelove that store. Like, I did not want to leave. The maxi skirts and peplum tops and... :x I bought the Jessica Simpson jeans cause they were on sale AND adorable. But the rest of them looked cute as well! Can't wait to have an excuse to go back : )
  • @kaylarenae3 I'm at an in between size at the moment. It can ride up but it isn't too much of a hassle for me.

  • I just hit 8 weeks and bought maternity pants a few days ago... I haven't been able to button my jeans for at least 2 weeks. It may just be bloat but at least I'm comfortable!
  • Loved my maternity clothes from Motherhood Maternity. I haven't broken then back out yet, but I'm sure I will in the next few weeks.
  • Correction: not plum...prune! Ha I skipped ahead a bit.
  • @cjagogo‌ Exactly! Sorry but people like that just piss me off. Sorry that you're not experiencing the same exact thing as me. Doesn't mean you have to tear me down and try to make me feel stupid. I don't have morning sickness, so should I tell you that you're being a wimp and that it's not that bad?? Anyways, thanks for all the support ladies!

@Ali+Cee‌ Maternity leggings?! 70 degrees isn't too warm for those right?! I mean, I think I NEED them.

@babs02‌ right? DH thinks I'm showing already. I was like "nooo sweety, it's just me being bloated and fat. But thanks for being so excited" lol.
  • I'm 10w4d and have been using the hairband trick plus a belly band but it's just not working anymore. I have 1 pair of maternity jeans so far but they are way too long and I need to bring them to a tailor. I'm hoping to do it this weekend if I can bare going out in frigid temperatures that NJ will be experiencing. I would fix them myself but I suck at anything involving a needle and thread, lol!
  • I just made the switch! This is my second pregnancy and I tell ya, things are definitely not the same in any way. I am a medical assistant and wear scrubs. Maternity scrubs are so comfortable!

I went for a walk today. Had leggings on with a tshirt. It was definitely a bit more snug. I walked about a mile from work to a Yogurtland and on my way back a random guy on the street said to me 'that look is not working for you'
  • @GingerPop79‌ I bought a pair today that are kinda long but they are so comfy. I just plan on rolling them up with cute tennis. Also, I'm terrible at sewing also so don't fret lol. That's what my MIL is for ; )

@melewen‌ that's where I went! I got BOGO 50% off of Jessica Simpson jeans. There's a few pairs online for $20 that I'm probably gonna snatch up also! Haha #addiction

  • Oh yes, I definitely can sympathize with this... Every day finding something appropriate to wear to the office, or to serve at the fine dining restaurant I also work for becomes more and more of a challenge! Today I went out and bought some nice stretchy black dress pants that I am hoping will last me a little while. Sadly there is no maternity clothing store near my town, but I did manage to find some pants at Reitmans (I also struggle with long enough pants and they have a great tall line!) And they happened to be having an extra 50% off sale... score! I can't believe that I am already up two whole pant sizes from my regular though... and I'm getting pretty tired of hearing the whole "Oh you can't possibly be showing yet!" All I know is my pants don't fit and I sure as heck feel like I have a bump starting.
  • I basically wear cotton maxi skirts everyday, they are so comfortable and will easily stretch to accommodate an ever growing belly. I gave up on waistbands long before pregnancy, I love stretchy cotton and have been wearing it for years!
  • @emkcude‌ check out this link! Maybe you can buy online? : )

@jweber4747‌ I can't wait for that! I only have two maxi skirts right now. I'm preparing for more this summer! Wondering about jackets... My arms aren't going to swell massively right? Lol. I'll still be able to wear my usual jean jacket?
  • @kaylarenae3‌ yes!! I am getting the light pair with some rips on them. I saw them weeks ago when I was buying preggie pops and they were so adorable I almost bought them then!! Can't wait to go soon
  • So happy that leggings are in. I had to go buy a bigger pair! Kohls didn't have a good maternity selection though :( I'm def not fitting into much, but been rocking leggings constantly-- trying to budget and wait to buy cute summer clothes! (And trying to stay positive that spring will come soon)

  • I went and got some nice jeggings (I know the horror! :) and I'm only 7.5... Can still fit in my skinny jeans but sooo uncomfortable to do up, and pushing on my bladder everytime I sit down...Jeggings are so soft and comfy and look awesome with a nice flowing shirt, can't believe I haven't succumbed before!

I know what you mean! At 8 weeks, my jeans and even my old leggings sort of dig into my lower belly.. especially when I sit down. Finding myself having to unbutton my pants!! It's probably 80% bloat, 10% baby, and 10% FOOD baby! hahah Definitely investing in some maternity clothes here soon! Can't wait!

  • I bought my first pair of maternity pants a couple of days ago (8 weeks), as my pants are very uncomfortable. I'll probably try to find some comfy yoga pants for the next several weeks. I just need something with a bit of stretch!
  • Bella band has really saved the day...I stay bloated! I bought a pair of maternity shorts from asos.com since we're going on a cruise in two weeks. I love them! They are so comfortable.

Oh you will def. Need maternity clothes for the food baby if nothing else. Cruises are deadly!!! Enjoy it.
  • @kaylarenae3‌ I dont think 70 degrees would be too warm for the leggings because they had a solution to that...long AND capri style leggings! I'm in Montana and it's February so I don't have to worry about that quite yet lol, but the fabric is pretty breathable. I'll be living in them whether people judge or not. My baby is In between the size of a green olive and prune...is it illegal to wear them at this point?? ;)

Thanks. I get that. I'm also bloated as fuck. So, sorry that I don't conform to your proper "timeline". Get your hormones in check. No one wants to deal with your asshole attitude.
This made me laugh so hard!!! Thank you!

And as for the pants... I bought a belly band around 6-7weeks because my pants already didn't fit. The bloat is insane! I'm 9w2d and yesterday was the first day in probably 2 weeks I was able to button my work pants and skip the belly band. I don't know why but I'm just not ready to actually buy maternity clothes yet. I can't explain it. I just can't do it. So the belly band has been my lifesaver! I wish I could wear leggings to work. :'(
  • The hairband trick never worked for me.  I bought two of the bella bands and they would not keep my pants up!  I bought most of my maternity clothes from Old Navy, Target, Gap, and H&M.  My favorite pair of jeans were from H&M and I wore them with the band folded down in the beginning and once I got further along I pulled it up.  I also had Heidi Klum maternity leggings from Macy's and they were great.  I have one pair of jeans that still fit but i'm sure i'll be pulling out my old maternity jeans soon.

My girlfriend told me about asos and I've seen preggo articles about buying cute maternity clothes from there! I just worry about buying online before trying on. Especially since I have other local options. But if their stuff is that cute, I may have to risk it for the biscuit ; )

Exactly! I was so fed up with being uncomfortable sitting at my work desk. And I think it even caused some of my nausea. I'm at work right now wearing my brand spanking new maternity pants and I feel fantastic! Also, they're so cute that my family will never be able to tell unless I flash them or something weird lol.
