Just a fun thread- what was the biggest life saver for you during this pregnancy?

We are finally nearing the end of this road and I thought it might be fun to see what has been everyone's "life savers" during the pregnancy. It can be anything from an amazing product, to a significant other, to an exercise that helped back pain! Curious to see everyone's responses :)

Re: Just a fun thread- what was the biggest life saver for you during this pregnancy?

  • Okay I will start-
My favorite product was given to me by my sister- Josie Maran argan oil. I have used a few drops a day with my coco butter lotion for my belly and I swear since I started using it (around 5 months along) my stretch marks have not gotten any bigger. It also keeps my belly extra soft and smooth. I will definitely be using it after pregnancy (you can use it all over your body) and for sure for my next pregnancy.

My true life saver, at the expense of sounding corny, has been my husband. Most amazing man and I am so lucky to have him. Always very supportive- emotionally and physically. It's definitely the little things that count- like surprise foot rubs before bed, bringing me home my favorite chocolate, vacuuming!- so grateful for him!

  • 1) Mum and me stretch mark cream- I haven't got a single one on my bump, I'm amazed!

    2) My mothers support- I couldn't have done this without her, she's been my rock.

That's it really. Luckily, I've had an easy ride throughout my pregnancy (minus the few minor symptoms that aren't too pleasant). I've loved every second of it, I will miss it, but get this baby out of me now! I'm ready to meet him!
  • My husband hands down... He has been to every appointment with me, took me to all the ER visits, gone to get my ice cream at 10pm at night and more.
  • I second (or third) the husband. He has been the biggest support during this time in our lives and I'm so thankful to have someone who is fully on board, a true partner, and someone who takes his responsibility as husband and soon to be father very seriously.

On a less serious note, my snuggle has been a dream.

  • Products- coffee infused coconut oil for the belly :) no stretchmarks yet :)

All natural gelatin powder.. I add it to my tea. It's a collagen booster :)

And my love, Tom. Who spoils me and still makes me feel stunningly beautiful everyday through the weight gain.

  • Definitely my boppy pregnancy pillow! It has really helped with the back pain.

Also the husband for me! I had really bad morning sickness and he took care of our two kids and me even though he spent about three months off work due to a hospitalization. Never gets mad if I can't get anything done but keeping the kids fed and clean!

Zantac and milk for crazy bed rest induced acid reflux.

Husband who has done everything and anything to take care of me while being on bed rest for 1/2 a pregnancy.
  • I have to agree with most of you -- my husband has been amazing during this pregnancy. I am so drained after work/school and he has pretty much taken care of everything else. He isn't always the best at it (ahem.. Cooking) but he is trying! I have to hand it to him especially since this babe was not planned and I know he is freaking out a bit about becoming a Dad at almost 40.

I actually think being busy has kept me sane this pregnancy. My last pregnancy I was single and I didn't work and I was a nightmare of emotions. Keeping focused on classes etc has made it fly by this time -- except now.... Now I feel like this last month is going to drag lol
  • I will risk corniness too: my husband has been SO good to me this pregnancy. He gives me foot rubs, takes over chores, cooks, and listens to all my bitching. He even helped me calm down last week when I was experiencing really bad contractions.

    I love that man.

  • My husband, my mother, Sonic ice (guilty pleasure), anything mango flavored, my body pillow, cocoa & Shea butter, and Rally's burgers.
  • @takerany I will second Rally's. I have never tried it until a few months ago, and man so much greasy goodness. I will have to stop eating them soon haha
  • @Christina1939‌ I love the burgers and the milkshakes... And the funnel cakes lol I may be addicted
  • This is a great post! Thanks!

My pregnancy lifesavers have been my very understanding hubby (cleans and cooks when I can't) and kicks from the LO. I swear, every time I get upset about something, she starts squirming around and I can't help but feel overwhelmed with love for her.

  • My hubby, my mom, and my team at work! Zofran!
  • My mom for sure! She is such a blessing! Always doing lots of little things to help me out :) so lucky!
  • Hmm. I guess my bike (exercising kept me almost sane through 1st tri) and my nuchal screen u/s at 12 weeks. Seeing the baby looking like a real human helped me FINALLY connect to the pregnancy and shake my depression.
  • @noodlienoodles‌ my baby girl does re same thing. And I've been a cry baby during my pregnancy so when I'm done, she kicks up a storm. It's an amazing feeling!

  • Tums and my husband. Oh and these massages that I have been getting lately. I have been scouring groupon and getting a massage every other week until I deliver.

  • Pillows; every pillow on my bed, even the ones my husband uses because I randomly steal them from him when they look like they will work better than the 5 im using. Bakers cheeseburgers; Im not so ashamed to admit I eat them multiple times a week. My air conditioning, it was 75 where I live in So Cal today. And again the corny my husband for being understanding when I've been a random emotional basket case over the stupidest stuff
  • Tums, mint chip ice cream, crushed ice is my biggest craving , and my 11 year old daughter is so helpful :)
  • My anti nausea meds, my husband, my maternity pillow, my heating pad, and having an amazing understanding doctor who is so patient with all my FTM questions! Also French fries (from anywhere) and cucumbers!!!
  • Also Unisom...I would not be sleeping without it!
  • Def my husband for putting up with my crankiness and my complaining and just being the best and supporting me always

  • My husband (and his calf/foot rubs - even if they get an eye roll every night ;) ) my sister, she's my support until my mum gets here from overseas, and the local pool where I've been going 3-4 times a week to keep myself fit and sane!
  • My husband, definitely.
  • My lifesaver has been my anti-anxiety medicine. I suffered from HORRIBLE pregnancy anxiety in my first pregnancy, and I never got help/treatment for it. It made for an extremely difficult pregnancy for me, my husband, and our marriage. When I started showing signs of anxiety again this time around, I spoke to my doctor immediately and started taking medication. Even though this pregnancy has been physically much more difficult than my last one, it has been SUCH a better experience because I have the mental and emotional capacity to deal with the issues that come.

  • Chocolate Kreme Dunkin Donuts in my first trimester. My body pillow in second trimester and beyond. My family during the entire pregnancy--their help was the only way I could keep working!
