Circumcision is not for me, here's why

I'm vaccinating and circumcising. When I was an infant my mom didn't vax me against pertussis(whooping cough) because the vaccine had caused neurological problems (not autism) in other children. I ended up catching pertussis and almost died of a sulfa OD. I do not consider the flu shot a vaccine so that will be left out. The flu can't kill you. Measles, mumps and rubella can. I was active duty Navy and was vaccinated against smallpox and anthrax so I carry the antibodies. My child will be happy and healthy.

My husband isnt circumsized. He hates it. There's so much bacteria that gets stuck underneath the foreskin, it really irritating to his penis. And it doesn't matter if he showers everyday. He seriously has to shower almost twice a day everyday to make sure it's completely clean.

My husband isn't circumcised either (most of the men/boys I know are not since it isn't common in Norway) and he has no issues with it nor does he need to shower twice a day either. Sure, he needs to pull back the foreskin when cleaning down there, but that's all...

I worked in a doctors office and more often than you think, there was older men having to get circ due to medical issues. I feel like it's a much worse healing process when they're older than as babies. I just don't see there being any cons to getting it done for their future. But I do see how some ppl feel that why touch something that has nothing wrong with it.

Actually the flu can kill you. Look up your local statistics. I am a nurse, I vaccinate my son and he is circumsized and I am completely happy with these decisions.

It has nothing to do with disagreeing. When you are exceptionally controversial for no apparent reason, I call troll. If you are begging for conflict and acting aloof during said conflict, troll. Everything about you in particular screams troll. Maybe it's the popping into threads and commenting on a subject you clearly have no idea about. Maybe it's the Jerry Springer back story and the fact you've mentioned your "dude" won't let you tell anyone about the baby...

Then again I may be wrong and you may just be a 19 year old with closer roots to high school than reality. IDK.

My husband is NOT circumcised and has told me, repeatedly, that if we have a son he IS TO BE circumcised. He has never liked the fact that he was not circumcised. Not just for physical appearance. He says it is so much more of a pain in the ass to keep clean all the time.

He also was diagnosed with Type II diabetes last year. One of the big reasons we found out that he even had diabetes is because he got a horrible, painful skin infection between his foreskin and penis. The sugars in his urine caused the foreskin to swell to the point that he couldn't move it and within a few days it was so swollen that it began to split in places. HORRIBLE! I felt so bad for his pain. I couldn't even imagine.

So, that made me agree that circumcision was the way to go. Prior to that, I really didn't have much of an opinion either way.

I am all for circumcision but your husbands issues seem to stem from his diabetes, not his penis skin status?!? Getting cut isn't going to prevent diabetes.

Seems like a strange reason to circumcise still. On the off chance our sons may end up with diabetes that may not be properly under control and may cause an infection and the infection may be on his penis then the infection won't be as bad if they don't have foreskin?

I mean come on. Just admit. Foreskin is ugly and that's why we are all doing it. Least I am honest about it :-h
