At 35 weeks I was 2 cm 50% effaced but haven't been checked since. Due 2/19 have had 2 false labors. I guess that's just my bodies way of getting ready... 1st baby
I wasn't checked at my 36 week check up. Due 2/26 with my second and have had a lot of on and off cramping for the last week. We are hoping baby stays put until Valentine's Day.
I don't wanna know - unnecessary worrying & it really doesn't mean anything. LO will come when she's ready - I've been walking a lot, eating spicy foods, and other ways to give her a nudge
No clue and I haven't asked to be checked either. Because let's be real...until either a) your water breaks or b) your contractions are close enough for you to admitted into Labor and Delivery, how dilated/effaced your are doesn't matter. It makes no impact on whether the baby will come early. So rather than deal with getting checked (which is mighty uncomfortable) and risking the possibility of introducing unnecessary bacteria, I'm just opting out.

You women who comment who cares ....I don't wanna know & putting your height why even comment just don't comment at all☺️
@simplymilan Sweety, you can't tell people not to comment. It violated TOU of not prohibiting another user to use or enjoy the "site". Have you been warned? A lot of others have been warned for less. It's true, dilation and effacement mean absolutely nothing until your water breaks or you're in active labor. This thread means nothing. I understand others like to compare and know about everybody else but my cervix is my own and nobody else's matters. Instead of wasting time commenting on this people could be offering support to the mother in March15 who has been diagnosed with cancer but is being a hero to her baby and denying treatment until after LO is here.
I talked it over with my Midwife. I was completely aware of the risks and benefits of checking and I am not encouraging anyone to be checked if they don't want to be. I was no more than curious since she was already doing an exam, and said there would only be addtional risk if my water was broken. I know it has no impact on my due date. I am no more than just curious about the experience of other women in my due date range. I will admit I didn't ask the question myself for fear of being ridiculed.
OP is not really a hypocrite because I don't think she cares if the post dies. She probably wants it to continue. It's better than starting a whole new post on the same question.

I liked this post. I am not a newbie either.
