hi my husband and I went in for the 23 week monthly check and I have 2 urine samples that came back with signs of high protein and dehydration. My doctor sent a urine sample to lab a little scared!!!
Oh shoot! I hope everything's okay. How's your blood pressure been? Did they talk to you about pre-eclampsia? Since you're in the 2nd half of pregnancy, they will become more wary of the signs and symptoms of pre-eclampsia. I'm hoping your elevated proteins and dehydration are just the result of your kidneys working harder since you're preggers.
Try not to sweat it, though, until they call you with more info (I know, easier said than done) and for Pete's sake: stay hydrated, mama!
I was in shock and didn't ask any question until we got home were like ok so what does that mean.
It is completely understandable that you needed to process all that information... It's not too late to call the Doctor with any follow up questions... You may even be able to schedule a consultation to go over the results more in depth.
I know how it feels-- sometimes you can't get enough answers and you just want some comfort.
As your doctor, ask google, ask internet strangers and it's still not enough answers and relief!
Just know that you are not alone, your doctor is the one that knows what to do and what steps need to be taken so just know that he/she will do what needs to be done for you.
Stay hydrated! I drink at least a gallon of water per day and about a month ago I started putting lemon in my water and I feel great. I know if I'm dehydrated by the color or my urine. It should always be a pale yellow color (except first pee of the morning which is almost always darker).
Take care!

LOL great job. You pay them a fortune and forgot to ask a really important question.
Good grief. What a ridiculous way to answer a question. Hope you get some answers OP. Don't hesitate to call your dr back. They don't mind, and they are used to people thinking of questions once they get home.

Dehydration alone can cause protein concentration. Just start really pushing the water! I had to do the same thing and everything resolved. Glad your doc called and reassured you.
PCOS- finally pregnant after 3 years of IF treatment, including 4 failed IUI.
