Alright bump friends! We found out that our sweet baby is a little girl. We are so excited! My husband and I have narrowed it down to two names, and I'm interested in your opinions. We aren't telling friends and family the name until birth, so have it! Right now our front runners are Emilia and Avery. Thoughts?

Baby name board is good at helping with this, as a PP said. But because I feel like it, I'm going to vote Emilia - because Avery reminds me of a creepy kid I went to school with a long time ago.

If you go over to the baby name board be prepared to get flamed over Avery for a girl. I've seen a few ladies recently who they ripped a new one because the origin of the name Avery is masculine and it's originally meant to be a boys name. I love it for a girl and I personally know a few Avery's all of which are girls. But just be prepared. I suggest looking up any name you choose before going over there to post. There is plenty of really great advice and constructive criticism on the baby name board but some of the answers are just down right nasty. And no I'm not someone who wants things sugar coated but damn some of them are intense.

chelsea13elyse I agree with you. I hate the baby names board because of so many of the regulars there. There is a way to express opinion without being a jerk and they have a hard time over there.

My thoughts on names are that it's a personal choice, getting opinions is up to you, but in the end - who cares what someone else thinks? And why so many others care what people name their kids is beyond me. I personally don't like weird spellings or funky names that are too hard to pronounce, but if someone else wants to do that, let them be. Sheesh. I really can't stand reading their comments over there so i usually don't go anymore. I mean, really...who died and made them name gods? Asking for their opinion doesn't mean they are asking you to flame them for their choices. Either A, you like it or B, you don't. Move on.

A name is as unique as a person is. Get over it, I say.

I am sorry but I feel like we should be able to talk to eachother about names in the July Mom's group. The Baby name board is like a panel of judges "Simon Cowell" type of judges who feel like they can say anything they want behind a computer. There are ways to say things and there are ways not to. In this day and age consideration for other people's feelings have went out the window. We are all getting to know eachother here in this group. If we can talk about our vaginas in here we should be able to weigh in nice and respectfully on names. To help eachother outs. As were building bonds with eachother sharing experiences thru this journey until July. Why not share names as well instead of putting them up on the Baby name boards to have Simon Cowell rip them apart then give you a list of names they want for kids there not having.

Yes the baby name board doesn't sugar coat their opinions on names but some people need to hear it. If you are set on a name or two why are you asking internet strangers anyways? Just to hear "OMG I love that" basically which won't happen. Why do you need your choices validated in the first place? The reason we direct people to the baby name board is because that is the PURPOSE of that board and lately there have been tons of baby names posts on here so we miss people with pregnancy related questions or people needing support. Also, you would get a lot more responses over there if you are looking for real feedback on names.

Avery is totally cute for a girl! I actually only know one Avery and she is an awesome 15 year old cheerleader that loves all things girlie so the "masculine origin" issues that others mentioned didn't have any affect on her happiness;)
Emilia is also very pretty so I don't think you can go wrong!

what about using both? Avery Emilia has a nice ring to it.

I've tried being nice to the stupid questions and point them in the right direction but apparently that's not good enough for some people that could easily google or read a pregnancy book. Or the amount of people who keep posting about bloody baby names like this is the baby name board. So I really couldn't care what people want to write or say about me. I'll write what I want in response to some ridiculous threads

Incase any of you weren't around before @laurawaller7‌ is just trying to be like the mean girls who used to be here.. She desperately wants to be a "cool kid" but the thing is there's nobody else's ass left for her to kiss so she just kinda talks to herself and rambles on. If we leave her alone I'm sure sure will leave at some point.
