surprise... Mommy?!? & spreading the news!

So it's my first time being pregnant and obviously from the title it's a giveaway.. It was a surprise. I'm 4 weeks pregnant and decided to take a test because my boobs were extremely sore. I usually have some symptoms of cramping & craving before my period but never tender breast. I started reading and found out that was an early sign of pregnancy. To my surprise although not very surprised at this point I decided to take an at home test and it turned out positive. I have my first dr. appt in 2 weeks (earliest they had available). At first I was anxious and worried, scared and excited, I guess I was just overwhelmed not exactly knowing for sure how to feel. I am pretty young I'm 21 and I have one more year of college left before I graduate. Thus far my boyfriend has been a great support system and so understanding. I mean we talked about having a kids before but it was all in the future 2-3 years down the road. So we got a little ahead of ourselves but I am lucky to have such a loving, caring, and understanding man by my side. We have our condo which conveniently has two rooms and both have good jobs. It's not the worst thing that could have happened to us in a way we are somewhat prepared and I think we will be okay. I know this sounds outrageous but he is super anxious to tell his family and I won't let him until after the first dr. appt. And even after that, quite frankly I'm still nervous about delivering the news. Any help??? I mean first time mommies and even second time mommies how did you or how are you planning on spreading the news??

    We aren't going to tell family until after we see the doctor. I was thinking of doing something fun, like whip up YouTube video or make a special cake with a picture of a baby inside or something. This will be first grandchild on both sides!!

    I'm in the same boat me and my SO were wanting kids but not till later and he is anxious to tell his parents but I wanna wait.. Prob till I'm out of the danger zone of a miscarriage and I am just afraid they will freak but he doesn't think they will. He wants to tell them after my first Drs appt

    I think that's also why I wanna wait. I feel like everyone is gonna have a mini heart attack because I'm still in school and it's not the ideal time. But I am also scared and wanna wait until after we know the little peanut is all safe. I got him to wait at least until after the first dr. visit, which buys me some time. It's not the first grandchild on my side this will be the third. Actually the second was just born 3 weeks ago lol. But I like the idea of the cake I may do that. Thanks for the input ladies!! (:

    i just found out about two weeks ago that im pregnant for the first time! I am always young i will be 20 in april. Im a little nervous and scared my doctor appointment is next friday which has seemed like forever. The only people we have told his his sister bc she is like my bestfriend and were not planning on telling Immediate family until after the doctors appointment and everyone else we will probably tell when i am about 12 weeks. We will probably tell everyone in a funny or cute way!
