Same here! I have mine in about 2 weeks. I also found it odd that I was told I would be seeing a midwife. I was expecting a blood test first and then my first prenatal visit. I'm also a first time mom.
I had mine done yest and I was suppose to be 7w3d but I told her I ovulated late and I think I will be 6w4d. When they did the measurement turns out baby is 6w3d heartbeat 128
I just had my first appt and u/s today!! I am 6w5d. I thought I was 7w4d but my OB told me 6 weeks. So happy! Got to see our little bundle of joy and hear the heartbeat!
If the Dr directly tell u to drink that water.... dont. I did that before because i listened to coworkers and dr told me it doesnt help actually. So unless dr. Orders dont do it. I drank so much water thinking i was helping and then ended up vomiting it all up on the way to ultrasound. I wasn't too bright the first time lol. Haha
I had my first ultrasound on 1/16 due to some bleeding, I was exactly 7 weeks with a 156 heartbeat. I go back Thursday for follow up and another peek at our little jellybean and hopefully our bleed looks better!!
I had my first ultrasound today when they couldn't find a heartbeat on the Doppler, according to lmp my edd was 9-3 putting me at 8wks 5days, baby only measured in at 5weeks 6days... They could see the heart flutter but could not get a heart rate... Only thing is once I got home I realized I found out I was pregnant 7 weeks ago(so baby is still measuring small) hoping for a more clear due date at my next ultrasound in 2 weeks... Dr said baby is there with a heart beat and not to worry so that is what I am going with
Edit: side note, I wonder if my tilted uterus would play a role in the small measurement... Guess I will have to ask OB in 2 weeks
First US today. Thought I was 7wks 3days turns out measuring 6wks 1day heart beat 122bpm. Not sure how I feel about the new time frame cause now I have to keep it under wraps longer.
Had my first (vaginal) ultrasound yesterday at 7w6d and saw baby! Baby is measuring right on schedule and has heartbeat of 170 ... coolest thing I've ever seen! Now I'm counting down the days until the next one at 12 weeks!
First U/S is Friday ( tomorrow ) and we cannot wait, I am a FTM and this is our first ever U/S after 6 ivf cycles and 1 frozen embryo transfer. Hoping for a heartbeat and beautiful sac to see!
Had first one yesterday at 6w. Only saw the sac. Worried, sad and anxious. Going back for blood work today and hopefully another u/s next week. Dr said he's 50/50 so I don't know what to think. Just hoping for the best.
I had my first US this week and I'm disgusted with this process so far. My OB's office doesn't do US they sent me to some imaging place. They lady was so impersonal and when I asked if we could see our child she said "I'm not allowed to tell you the results" what the EFF do you mean results?!? I'm here for a EFF'ing 9 week US... I was told I was going to get to see my baby, heart the heart beat the whole 9... She said "we aren't that kind of place" what in the EFF Does that mean??? Believe me, when I see my OB I'm going to address this and tell him that if every US I have is going to be like that I'm going to another OB where they actually do the US there. This is absurd. Am I the only one that's had this experience? Is this normal practice?? Because reading all of the ladies that have posted here it doesn't sound like it... Phew... Holly hormones....
That's wtf happened to me yesterday! !!!! I had to go to an imaging center and the snot doing the internal u/s said nothing to me or my fiance. It was ackward. She just said I only see the sac but I can't give you any further information. Ummmm. Seriously?! Going to my doctor today....a little odd and uncomfortable that's for sure. So now I'm worried as all hell and there's nothing I can do about it.

I've worked at a radiology center before, techs aren't Drs, so that can't tell you the heartbeat rate or any other information about the baby until the Dr. has gone over the report and gives you results. They can get in a LOOOOT of trouble for that. Especially if it's a referral to a separate radiology office that has no connections with your OB's office. The tech is only gathering information for the Dr, they have no degree to interpret that information with any finality. I'm sure they get what they're looking at and could give you a pretty accurate statement, but people are so sue-happy these days, people just can't risk it anymore. It's kinda sad.
My first appt at doctors is set for 9 weeks. They will do an u/s then. I was surprised the office did not want to see me earlier. Also my 9 week appt will not even be with doc. Just tech then nurse coordinator. Does this sound normal? First pregnancy and nervous
If you're not having any problems, that's pretty normal. That's when my first appt is scheduled too and I don't think they will be doing an U/S yet. A lot of Dr's will schedule you for that first u/s around 10-12 weeks. My last pregnancy I had one u/s at about 5 weeks because of severe bleeding, my normal u/s at 10-12 weeks, and the screening u/s at 20 weeks. So that sounds totally normal to me, unless you're having problems, they you should be seen sooner. You'll probably be doing your fam hx, bloodwork, and going over timelines for your pregnancy, maybe listening to hb on the handheld monitor, and urine testing (for protein and such).
I had mine on the 27th and am only 5 weeks and 1 day so we only saw the sac and a ring no "pole" as the NP put it. But she was fabulous. She sat with us for 25minutes in her office and reviewed all the guidelines like no sushi no jacuzzi, reviewed me and my husband's medical history and went over my medications and talked about appropriate weight gain etc. Then she did my ultrasound and went over everything that we could see and even showed me my cystic ovaries (I have PCOS and took over a year to conceive). I'm going back in two weeks so I hope we can see the hearbeat. She said that once you can see the heartbeat around 8 weeks it's about the same as waiting to hear the hearbeat at 12 weeks so she said we can tell family confidently at that point.
Having my 5th u/s tomorrow following up from visit to ER Friday; heart beat was 110 and said everything was OK. I'm just over 7wks dx with a subchorionic hemorrhage. Seeing and hearing the heartbeat gives me hope xo
My first is Thursday at 7 weeks. So scared and anxious because I don't notice symptoms I thought I had even a few days ago. Had a chemical miscarriage last September and just can't seem to keep my mind off of a missed miscarriage. I'm Mrs. Optimism...so who sucked all my positivity out the door?
Had our first on Thursday, 6w6d had an abdominal and vagnial u/s at an imaging center, had to drink water before (it helps the sound(?) waves to see the baby) and saw the heart beat!!! Omg she didn't say anything about the rate, little nervous but will go over everything with my doc a week from tomorrow. Can't wait to see baby again!
My very first appointment (FINALLY!) is tomorrow and I'll be 10 weeks! I'm hoping they do an ultrasound but I don't know for sure. All they said over the phone when they called to confirm the appointment was that "we'll be doing lots of labs and all that good stuff and there will be lots of time with the doctor to ask questions" so I wasn't sure if that meant yes or no ultrasound. And I was at work so I couldn't ask questions just lots of "OK", "thank you" and "see you tomorrow". AHHHH! Lol. I hope there's an ultrasound or at least a doppler to hear the heartbeat.
Have any of you gone longer than 10 weeks without either an ultrasound or a doppler for the heartbeat?
Im so jealous!! I can't get my ultrasound until 12 weeks... I wonder why they are making me wait so long now... I really have no idea when I'm due because I couldn't remember my last period... You would think that because I'm almost 40 that in itself would make them want to check in?
I have mine this Wednesday! I should be about 8 weeks and 5 days. FTM, so I'm nervous/excited! I've taken 2 more HPT's since i went in for my first round of bloodwork bc I'm barely having any symptoms (which i feel thankful for) so it doesn't quite feel "real". Ridiculous, i know, lol.
Finally had mine this morning! Guppy is measuring spot on with my LMP. Heart rate was 172bpm(I think. It all happened so fast!) Hearing that little heartpoundingaway was a trip! I don't know how I managed to not cry. I was expecting to see the Dr too but we only had the US and I go back in a month to actually see the Dr.
I had my third us today at 9wks 5 days. I've been under the care of an RE so that's the reason for the two early scans. The LO was doing great and I could see him/her moving around. HB measured 181. I was very relieved since my morning sickness has lessened and I was concerned something was wrong. Oh and I got to hear the heart beat too which seemed more real to me than seeing the flicker. I'm not sure why.
I had my first ultrasound this morning. Based on LMP I should have been 8 weeks today. I know I ovulated really late. Only measured at 6 weeks 6 days with a heart rate of 146 bpm. So very happy to see that tiny flutter!!!
