MOMS Club of San Jose-Sanatana Row

Hi Moms!
It's been ages since I've been on here. I see some discussions about moms groups and I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. I've been a part of MOMS Club of SJSR for three years. It saved me and my sanity. I'm a SAHM of three boys, and when I began having kids I felt like: A) I was going to lose my mind from the lack of adult conversation and B ) It's difficult making friends as an adult and C) None of my old friends could even relate to my life since they didn't have kids (Uh no, I can't just strap my kids into a stroller while we get pedicures). I was tired of having surface level conversations at the park (How old are your kids? What did you do before kids? Blah, blah, blah, barf). I wanted real friendships and real support.

I have made so many true friends who all understand my life, my struggles, and my successes. They don't mind when our conversations get short because I have to sprint after my kid. They get it. This MOMS Club isn't cliquey- everyone is so inclusive and genuine. I don't know how it is in other MOMS Club chapters, but SJSR is great in that aspect. I tried Las Madres and it didn't work for me. Especially after you have more than one kid because their play groups are broken down by age and aren't really designed to be a multi age group.

MOMS Club of SJSR has lots of play dates, a monthly moms night out, philanthropic opportunities to give back to the community, holiday parties, and Helping Hands (a meal service for moms who have just had a baby). And since it's a club for moms and by moms, participation is a must which makes me feel like I'm an active part in something instead of just a bystander sliding in every once in awhile.  I've served different positions on the board for 3 years which has allowed me to put some of my skills to use and feel like I'm valued outside of my role as a wife and mom.

I love this group and these women and would welcome anyone needing support and friendship to come try us out. This is an international organization, so if you do not live in the San Jose area you can contact MOMS Club International to find your local chapter. HTH!

Re: MOMS Club of San Jose-Sanatana Row

  • Sounds great I'm in Fremont is that area covered by your group?
  • Loading the player...
  • No, Fremont isn't part of our chapter :( The chapters are broken down by zip codes so that the support is local and convenient. You can contact MOMS Club International at momsclub.org for a list of the chapters in your area to see which is closest to you.
  • Thank you for posting this. I'm in San Jose and have been looking for something like this. I have an 8 week old baby boy.
