My god, according to the trolls everyone should be named Bob or Sue, Sarah or Paul.
Starbucks misspells my name (emily) every time. I say pick a name you love and forget the haters. Unless you're naming your kid orangejello. Please don't do that.
Thanks @mishons26 and @TeamHayes I was just trying to be nice and offer an alternative. I also don't understand why people can be so horrible on here! And @chibiyui as I said before if you don't have anything nice to say don't bother saying it. I haven't come on here to be poked fun at or get sarcastic remarks back when I post. I want to be able to advise and share without cruel remarks from keyboard warriors with nothing better to do than to be horrible to others. This is a place for everyone to share and be a community everyone is going through the same thing and we should be sticking together and helping then being nasty.
Guys guys guys, if you don't want opinions on names, then please don't post them. It's that simple. This is an argument as old as time and if you think that "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" applies here, then be glad the tone of this place has changed drastically in the past month. Some of these names would have been massacred under the olde regime.
Let's face it. Some people choose names that are bad. There have been a couple of eye rollers here, and I think the tone here is rather civil if you ask me. Let's all keep things in perspective. Not everyone is going to like your name and "special" names are particularly hot button.
Why are people picking two names?
Ex: Sarah Lee or James Paul
Am I missing some dobble naming trend? Lol
My husband and I want to name our girl after our favoret books.
Arya- Song of Ice and Fire
Alia- Dune
We are having funny fights about it.
We found Eliora Soare (Soare is sunshine in Romanian) for a girl and Wiley, Giddeon, or Orion for a boy. His family has a tradition with the middle name of the first born male. Which I'm not thrilled about, but I respect. The middle name is DeWayne. Crossing my fingers for a girl!
I think I'm stuck on Lincoln. Super stuck on it. And thank you everyone for not bringing up Molly as a "drug" That is NOT how I want my grandmother to be remembered. Thank you everyone for the feed back And the amazing names (:
I feel the same way about Molly! I have that picked as my girl name and one girl brought up the drug and me and my preggie hormones didn't take it well
Completely agree. Name your baby something they won't have trouble spelling! Geez they are gonna be 10 years old trying to figure out how to spell Kinzleigh.
We have several for each but I'm currently leaning towards Leighton for a girl and Carson for a boy. I had Kamryn Katie Alice and Declan James Paul picked out and love both sets but DH isn't a fan, and my brother isn't thrilled with Kamryn as his name is Camron lol. If you can't tell I have a thing for names ending in N lol, my Son (11) is Austin and my Daughter (3) is Hayden
I would say a good rule of thumb when naming your kid is do the "Starbucks test". Use the name of your future child when ordering your drink at Starbucks or tell a hostess at a restaurant.
Are you uncomfortable saying the name?
Do you have to spell the name?
What look does the employee give you upon hearing the name?
If you're uncomfortable telling someone its your name or find that you're annoyed spelling it once or twice, you might want to re-think giving the name to your child for life.
My name is common and it's almost always spelled wrong at Starbucks!
I can't believe I am going to reply to this because we kept DS name secret from our families. But I want to tell someone!!
Della Francis for a girl, after both our moms and Grandmoms. Incidentally our moms were named after their moms.
Lochlan for a boy because I wanted something Irish, and love Vikings. I have red hair and definitely think I descended from Vikings. No middle name yet.
My first boy is Asher Michael, MN after my husband.
My goal and thought process for names is hopefully almost everyone in their preschool class can pronounce their name! Ha. So we're thinking Wade for a boy & Clara for a girl
In response to the initials ASS, my sisters initials are RAT and it has tormented her her whole life. I think ASS could be hard on someone. Someone else suggested a second middle name... That may be a good idea to save her initials
Boy: Gideon Thomas (eh...not quite set on the middle name) Girl: Eliza Rachel We haven't talked a lot about names, but the ones we agree on so far are so memorable that we've started to associate the names with baby already! I hope we still like them when he/she comes because I'm so indecisive!! (And I like names too much.)
No clue for a girl except that I want the middle name to be Lynn.
For a boy I really like Jace, Zane, Wyatt, and Blaine. SO wants middle name for boy to be Ray but I want Thomas or Patrick after my Gpa and dad.
DD is almost 4 and her name is Kyla Marie

This is baby # 4 and all my kids have unisex names- rylee, Parker, Hayden
I think Blake or jaxton both sound good with the flow...
Girl: Molly Elaine
Grandma: Mimi, or Mimsy
I swear my mother calls me every 5 minutes with a new nick name for her. She dreads being called MawMaw or Grandmaw.
I feel the same way about Molly! I have that picked as my girl name and one girl brought up the drug and me and my preggie hormones didn't take it well

I refuse to use anything on the Top 10 list, which is unfortunate because it has all my favorite girl names. Especially Olivia.
Good thing we have 9 months....

Isabella for a girl. Haven't found a middle name we like yet! Xxx
Girl: Eliza Rachel

Boy: Landon Miles
Boy possibly Luca Maverick
Boys: Liam, Jackson, Dallas, Parker, Asher, Wyatt, Omere
Girls: Hannah, Addisyn, Zoie, Khylie, Emma
