6-7 Weeks First baby Questions (help)

So Yesterday my Doctor confirmed that i am indeed pregnant with my very first child! However my first prenatal appointment isn't until Wednesday of next week (February 4th) and I've been experiencing lower back pain that just won't seem to go away, and also some sharp lower pelvic cramps (almost period like) just about any time i move, and last but not least i've also had some brown watery discharge when i went to pee. I called my midwife for her to tell me i'm fine as long as i don't need a pad to control the bleeding. I'm definitely worrying my self to death, has anyone else experienced this and is it normal?

  • Yes this is all normal. Buy and read a pregnancy book.
Since your midwife said not to worry then don't.

  • Thanks so much, it's all so nerve racking, i guess because i'm not quite sure what to expect since its my first pregnancy
  • Try to relax (I know it's hard), drink lots of water, and try some gentle stretches or moving around the house/going for a light walk. Your uterus is stretching, your digestion is slowing down, and you get dehydrated easily, all of which can cause cramping. If your pains pick up a rhythm (like contractions), get intense, or are accompanied with fresher blood, call your midwife again.

  • I've been taking it easy today, however i definitely need to quit googling my symptoms because all that pops up is miscarriage miscarriage miscarriage,, i also noticed that using a heating pad has made my back pain ease off a bit.
  • Yeah don't google. I'm a first time mom as well at 7 weeks and am still waiting for my first doctor's appointment. I have had everything you just described and drove myself half insane googling it and reading it was normal in one paragraph and a sign of miscarriage in the next paragraph. Books are good and I've found my mom is also an incredible "resource" when I start freaking out
