Brag about your DH/SO

Let's admit, IF sucks a big fat one, but most of us are in it together with our DH or SO.

Tell us something awesome about your spouse.

Bonus: How is your relationship different because of IF?

@luvboson I'm dying to hear your response! I've wanted to throttle YH a few times.

Oh, I have a good one. My DH was just contacted by an agent in NYC and is writing 50 pages on spec for a novel. This is his dream to get a novel published and I am so proud of him.

Bonus- I think we are closer bc of IF bc it's this weird tragic mysterious thing we went through together and came out the other side with these awesome kids. Plus we have lots of inside jokes. Like this one doctor who had a Japenese toilet.
IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

I'm a SAHM and I admit I can be a little lazy or unmotivated. MH is awesome at picking up the slack even though he shouldn't have to. He can also bounce a newborn/baby/toddler to sleep in record time. I don't have the patience for that.

My DH is awesome because he is so hands on with J. He got up with her at 6:10 and gave me another 40 min of sleep. He is very happy to watch her so I can still do stuff with my non-mom friends.

Bonus - it has made us closer. When our first cycle was going poorly, he worked from home and took me to all my monitoring appointments. He stayed home the entire 2ww. He can be a bit too puppy dogs, rainbows and unicorns in cycle, but I turned into a grumpy troll. I think IF had made us more grateful parents.

While I am kind of ready to throat punch my husband today (for spontaneously deciding to go out all day yesterday and spend oodles of money) I will give credit where credit is due. He is a FANTASTIC balance to my nervous self. More specifically - last week when we went for my first OB appointment I pretty much had a panic attack in the waiting room becuase of nerves. He was cool, calm and refreshing to be with - I have never been so happy to have him with me as I was at that moment. He really does balance me out nicely.

Bonus - it has most definitely made us more grateful as parents. It's not lost on us what a miracle DD is and how lucky we are to have her.  Unfortunately however both fresh IVF cycles were really difficult on us, we definitely struggled with the stress and emotions involved. this makes me sad, but I'm hopeful we won't be in that position again.

My pregnancies have never been easy - this one has been really tough. My little guy is 16 months and wants to wrestle, be thrown in the air, etc. He's a typical boy and MH works long hours- he gets home tired and will just jump in and entertain my son. He's not missed any doctors appts for either child. My mom has lived with for almost a year and he has more patience than I do with her - that's amazing!

Bonus - I'm convinced we were supposed to be on this IF journey together. I really don't believe without his humor and strengh we would have our children.

    Me 38 MH 41 - TTC since June 2010 - dx with Severe MFI. Straight to IVF with ICSI. IVF #1 - ER 06/13/12 - 9 Eggs Retrieved - 4 ICSI'd - only 2 fert. 06/15/12 - 2DT - 3 cell & 6 cell with fragmentation. Beta 06/29/12 - IVF #1 = BFN. 07/20/12 - WTF Appt -Told by our RE to quit IVF. ET 11/29 Transferred 3 embryos. Beta is 12/10. 1st Beta 81 2nd Beta 160 and 3rd beta 360!!! IVF #2 is in progress.  ER was 05/12/14 - 11 eggs retrieved, 8 fertilized with ICSI.  ET was 05/15/14 - we transferred 3 embryos as we did on the cycle my son was conceived.  We were able to freeze 3 embryos. Beta is scheduled for 05/26/14.  1st beta - 111.  2nd beta - 159 didn't double :( 3rd beta Friday 5/30) - not a lot of hope left. Beta # 3 is 247 - probably ectopic.  Beta # 4 is 813 - possibly vanishing multiple sydrome?  06/05/14 - 5w4days - first U/S - we see a gestational sac and yolk - still have hope!  06/17/14 - 7w1day - U/S and saw and heard the heartbeat - Finally!  06/27/14 - 8w4days - Baby and heartbeat look and sound great :)  EDD 02/01/14 and It's a boy!

@chiwifey‌ My DH is an EE too! I love that he is seriously the smartest person I know (even though he is pretty introverted). He is is always exposing the boys to classical music and math! He is such a hard worker and so kind and thoughtful. He deeply cares about those struggling with illness, disability or poverty. And, he is such an incredibly patient father. Sometimes, I lose my temper and take it out on him and he is so fair and willing to compromise.

Bonus: I think we had a strong foundation, but IF really forced us to be a team. It was kinda "us against the world." I also saw my husband experience absolute and real grief and it made me love him more (does that sound super weird?). I mean, I knew I was struggling, but to see this desire to be a father and the pain he went through during that time, changed the way I saw him.

I'm sure we can all relate to the lack of romance that goes into baby making for those with IF. After IF we really began to put some effort into making our relationship romantic! There were so many times we just dtd because "maybe" I was ovulating instead of focusing on our love for each other. So now we try to be romantic on many occasions inside and outside of the bedroom.
I can totally relate. Especially since we've just been through a year and a half of maybe-unexplained-infertility-is-fixed-with-a-pregnancy sex. I'm glad you guys are "back on track". AFM, I start lupron in a week and a half, so we are going to be off-track for a few months. Sigh.

Hmm you really made me think because I just want to strangle him lately. Due to this storm he will have been gone for a month when he finally gets home.

Tell us something awesome about your spouse:
He always has accepted me and my truckload of allergies and diseases and never has run away or said he couldn't handle it. He never was bothered by brushing his teeth before kissing me or eating gluten free, corn free so he could kiss me.
    He is a good dad.
He puts up with my family.

Bonus: How is your relationship different because of IF?
DH knows that I will never give up and I know he can be stretched far outside his comfort zone without breaking.

@luvboston I'm glad you could think of some good things. Hopefully, he will get his tail home before the baby arrives!

My hubby is like the perfect compliment to me. He calms me down when I'm upset, he calls me on my crap (most people won't) and he has become silly to make me laugh! He is always willing to try new things with me and encourage me to grow into a better person.

Bonus: it has made us so much closer. Iron forges stronger through fire, I feel like our marriage was tested through our loses and we came out more in love and way stronger than before.

DH is an amazing dad. I obviously knew he would be from the beginning but the bond he has with DS is awesome. They both get so excited to see each other, it's the sweetest thing ever. He is also working his ass off so I can be home for 6 months on maternity leave.

Bonus: It has made us much closer. While you're going through IF, no one really gets it. DH was always there to pull me out of those super emotional lows. And I was able to really see his emotion and how he wanted it as much as I did.

DH is amazing with H and my shortcomings. He always tells me to go do something by myself and takes H. He's patient with both H and I, taking time to put effort into us.

Bonus - IF brought us closer. I got to see a side of him I've never seen and he got to see how sensitive I can be, both emotionally and with hormonal changes. His dad is a he-man woman hater and says there's no such thing as hormones making women "crazy," they're just crazy. DH got to see first hand how that is not true and was great throughout it all.
