Today is a pretty boring day for me. & as I am sitting bored I am wondering where I will be when I go into labor. Will it be at night when I'm sleeping, at the mall, or driving...? So I'm curious to hear all the STMs stories where were you when you went into labor? Can't wait to read these stories
***used search bar and searched around I didn't find anything if this was already posted can someone please link it***
Never went into labor. You miss some of the excitement with a scheduled c-section
Depending on if my placenta will move I'll need to have a c section as well. Although my friend had a schedule c section and her water ended up breaking before hand. She was just at home though luckily lol.
I woke up around 2:30 in the morning because I got, what I thought, was a stomach cramp and needed to go to the bathroom. Much to my surprise, the minute I sat down on the toilet my water broke.

My water broke while I was sleeping. But it wasn't a huge gush so it didn't mess up the bed.. But it started coming out faster after going to the bathroom. But my contractions didn't start so I had to have pitocin about 9 hours later because it was taking to long..
I have a Daughter born 2/26/2013. She is pretty much amazing!
Scheduled cs here as well. At 32 weeks, I went to MFM for a check up and my fluid was dangerously low. Doc said today may be the day. After 8 days of hospitalization and a few more weeks of bed rest, dd was delivered via scheduled cs. That was enough excitement for me.
Franco Paul born 6/4/15 at 39 weeks. Mila Francesca born 10/19/13 at 37 weeks. Both born via C-Section after 6 years of fertility treatments, disappointments and losses. Love them!!
Schedule induction here! I can't wait for this time around...hoping to go into labor on my own just to experience what it's like. I do remember being up bawling all night before the induction because it all the sudden hit me we were going to be parents when we went to be the next night and I was terrified it would end up in epic failure!! lol. (I was 22 and DH and I had only been together literally long enough to make a baby...11 months. I was so Nervous!). Happily married for almost 4 yrs now and thank god everyday for our little surprise we have!! It took 3 years ttc with this 2nd little bean)
My water broke while DH and I were casually strolling through walmart picking up some last minute hospital bag items. Haha. Thankfully it wasn't a full on gush, but I did look like I peed my pants. My labour never really started after that, so I went in the next morning to be induced and after failing to progress passed 6cm, went for a c-section. So I got the best of all worlds!
Embarrassing water break, labouring, labouring with pitocin and epidural and c-section!
First time I was induced. Second time i had horrible Braxton hicks and the Braxton hicks got worse and the contractions started slow and they all rolled together. I went to my 39 week appt and my dr told me I was dilated to 4 and in labor. He told me to feel free to go to labor and delivery whenever I was ready. I honestly had no clue it was real and not just terrible Braxton hicks.
I had mild contractions all night and was hoping they would progress so I went to the gym in the morning and got a work out in. I took a bath when I got home and started leaking fluid after I got out of the bath. It wasn't a big gush for me, just a slow drip. Called doc to confirm I was truly in labor and off to the hospital we went.
I was sleeping and groggily woke up thinking I had to poo. My water never broke on it's own but I quickly started having contractions about 90 seconds apart. Went to the hospital and they told me I was barely 2 cms dialated. I cried because the mean old nurse told me I would be sent home right away (second time that week) and I was 41 weeks. The doctor came in and saw how often I was contracting (every 45 seconds) and said I was not going home. The rest was history!
Ditto the planned C-section. The day before was definitely weird--each hour getting closer to becoming a family of 3, and wondering what we should do with our last minutes of baby freedom.
I was induced with DS1. Went in on Monday night to have Cirvadil placed since I was .5 cm. Started contracting at about 10 AM the next morning, but got Pitocin to help things along. After 23 hours and only getting to 5.5 cm and 60% effaced I spiked a fever, indicating infection so had to go emergency C-section. Planned C-section at 39 weeks this time.
2 weeks overdue...I begged my doctor to please take the baby out. Induced and four days later...baby. I hope for a planned, non exciting c-section this time.
Went I to labor at midnight (the day after my due date). Was in labor for 16 hours, waking up and down the hall, bouncing on a ball, everything I could possibly do and the baby never engaged and I never dilated even though I was having contractions every 1-2 mins lasting 60 seconds. They couldn't break my water since she wasn't engaged they were afraid her cord would slip down. So I went in for a c section. I will have a scheduled c section again, because my hospital doesn't do vbacs.
I had prodromal labor the few nights before that would stop around 4-5am. On Saturday am, it hadn't stopped by 6 and contractions were getting closer together so I called the on call nurse. She contacted the ob on call and then called me back to come in. Dh and I showered and we picked up breakfast on the way. Doc said my waters were bulging and so I was admitted. 10hrs later, DS was born.
With my first I was out to dinner at a restaurant with a whole group of friends from high school and all of our parents. When my water broke it was a slow enough leak that I turned to my husband and told him that I either peed my pants or my water broke (I wasnt sure at first) We tried to descreetly sneak out of the large group without making a scene with him standing in front of me and my mom behind to block my rather obviously wet pants.
Second and third babies were far less eventful One broke at home while I was doing yoga and the third was broken in the hospital during my induction.
I was at home with both. Nothing too crazy with either.
My first, contractions started about 10pm and I kept blaming the salmon I'd had for dinner bc they were making me feel like I couldn't get off the toilet. My mum was outside the bathroom door saying "um, Kelly, you're 3 days overdue and 5cm dilated, I don't think it's the salmon"' lol.
My water broke when I sat up in bed one morning with my 2nd.

I was induced. I was 40+2, but fluid levels around baby had been monitored since 36 weeks and dr felt it was unsafe to wait any longer. I was disappointed to not experice going into labor, but was able to avoid a c-section.
I started having contractions at 37 weeks. They told me I was dehydrated and sent me home. I came back at 4am and told them I knew for sure I was in labor. They sent me home again. Two hours later my water broke and I had a baby by noon. Pssht I knew what was going on. The Dr insisted that it was just nerves and dehydration. I was only 19 and I had the feeling my Dr thought I was an idiot.
DD2 I went into labor at 41w, the night before my scheduled induction. We had just dropped DD1 off with MIL and stopped to get ice cream on the way home at 9pm. While we were waiting in line I was thinking damn these Braxton hicks are getting intense! Lol. I just thought it was from being on my feet all day. Well we got home and I couldn't eat my ice cream (big clue) and so I started timing the BH, and they were every 60 secs to 2.5 mins and getting more painful by the minute. Got to the hospital by midnight and was dilated to 4.5cm. I had DD2 at 6am which was exactly when I was scheduled to be induced
DS didn't seem interested in being born, so my MW stripped my membranes at 41+5. Woke up at 1:30 the next morning with contractions. Tried to rest that evening and got up about 7:00am and took a walk, just to keep things going. Ended up doing almost all my laboring at home, by the time we got to the birth center, it was time to start pushing. My water broke on a push, shot 3 or 4 feet across the room and got all over my MW. She laughed it off, I was too busy having a baby to care, my husband was mortified!
Blessed Mama to the sweetest boy in the world (11/9/13), one angel baby, and two fur babies: Mattie Dog and Stanley Cat.
I left work early to go to my OB appointment with DH. It was our 2nd anniversary so we had planned on going out right afterwards, but ob said I was contracting too frequently (I didn't even notice) and to go to l&d to get checked out. They wound up admitting me and DS was born the next morning (induction).
I didn't realize I was in labor. I was having contractions for about 8 hours that night. I called the dr they had on-call and he just said to lay down and stay hydrated. My water hadn't broken or anything. I was only 32 weeks at that point. I went in at 9 am to the dr's office. Connor popped out at 9:38 on the bathroom floor.
My water broke at a baseball game with DD1. Luckily it wasn't a huge gush, I just felt a little pop an some leaking. Went to the bathroom to check it out and my underwear were wet. I wasn't sure if it was my water or if I'd peed myself, but either way I was leaving. LOL. In hindsight I'd probably been in early labor for a while before that, but since I have tons of BH contractions I didn't notice it and wasn't timing anything.
With DD2 it was the middle of the night, I woke up to contractions 6 min apart.
Week 41 checkup, steady contractions all morning, they checked me out and I was progressing so they signed me in. Labored entirely at the hospital. No drama here. =P
I woke up with a strange feeling in my back. I figured I was in early labour, but didn't want to tell my DH (he was about to fly in his first air show and I didn't want to distract him). I went to the airshow with a friend and all day my back really hurt. By 4pm I told hubby that we have to go home. I told him in the car that I think I am in labour... I laboured a lot a home and went to the hospital around 10pm. DS was born at 1:42am. Also, we were able to go home and rest in our own beds by 5am (best thing ever!).

I sooooo want my water to break at a crazy place. Too bad both times they broke it at the hospital. I think the same will happen again.

My STM advice is that if you get induced and are planning to have an epidural get it BEFoRE they break your water.

It was just like on TV, calling my husband at work "sit down honey. Don't panic, but, my water just broke. Don't rush home, get home safe, i'm fine!"
His 1 hours+ commute took less than 40 mins But he panics at everything, lol.
