  LO does that sometimes to DH but usually only if its been a short nap (30-ish minutes).
  I don't think LO has done it to me. He has woken up screaming a few times, but usually has pooped or does within minutes of waking. I assume it's gas pain.
  He doesn't look at me like he's confused, just mad.

  I've had LO wake up seeming frightened before, and taken a while to calm down, although I don't know if I ever felt like she didn't recognize me. However, it sounds like maybe it could be similar to a night terror?

  never where he didn't recognize me, but there has been a few times when he woke up and seemed scared/crying. I assumed he had a scary dream. what on earth could babies dream about that is so scary? (boobies run out of milk? )

  Yes! Empty boobs. Mommy never coming back. The toy that hurt them.
