anyone else been told they have this problem? I'm currently 32 weeks and at 29 weeks I had my glucose test & a routine ultrasound. The sonographer said my fluid levels were normal. Well my doctor tells me to make sure I'm drinking 64 ounces of water a day etc..
Yesterday I had my routine OB appointment and he asks me how my water intake has been going and I told him I've been doing pretty good with it. I asked again if my levels were low or something and he said "they were borderline" and he wants to do a follow up ultrasound at my next appointment to see how my levels look after a month total of increased water intake. I should've asked what the level actually was to see how borderline it really was. My dr is very anal so I wonder if he is just making me paranoid. I am doing well with my water intake regardless.
He wants my levels to increase now since they typically drop some closer to 40 weeks.
Anyone else with this problem?
Re: Borderline low amniotic fluid
Its common for fluid to decrease from 36-40 weeks, but if their concerned about your fluid levels now, then I would suggest taking your OB's advice. It doesn't hurt to be precautionary. I had a AFI at 32 weeks for this baby, just to be on the safe side.
