    Thanks @mommyofmac‌

I saw that and asked @mamrotu73‌ to not hate me!! ;;) please!

If people really want to make the switch back to RTT, then I'll suck it up and join in (though I've never posted there...). But right now I have the bump "ghost" reading my RTT thread so I don't see when anything is new!

    Eta wrong smiley.

  • Does anyone else do funny little dances to amuse the baby? Ever find yourself doing those dances in inappropriate places when there is no baby around?

  • We're supposed to go away for the weekend, and LO has a cold. I'm feeling more guilty as the day goes on. I just need to accept that my SIL has two big kids and can handle one little one with the tail end of a cold, but it's so hard. I'm hoping he wakes up tomorrow completely cold free!

Thank you! I know it will be fine, I'm just anxious.

  • I was never able to "jump in" the RTT because I didn't know how! (How stupid does that sound?!) I just ALWAYS felt like there were hundreds of posts to catch up on.

  • I'm also a mostly lurker who jumps in and out.  Trying to be here more and not post and run after getting responses to my various anxious questions:).  I like the daily threads, though!

So, I never had a problem keeping up with bottles for LO by pumping because I've always had decent-ish supply and he doesn't like bottles anyway, so even if I just pumped 7-8 ounces for 7 hours away, that was plenty for him.  Then on my last work day I pumped ~6 oz, and today I've pumped TWO so far.  Pumping again right now, but guessing I'll only get to 4 oz or so total.  Nine months seems like a crappy time to go off the rails.  Had my first period a couple of weeks ago, maybe it's that?  No bueno:(.  I saw from someone else's thread that others are beginning to intro formula now, too, so maybe it's not that uncommon.  I do love nursing, though, and hope to heck I'm not starving him inadvertantly!

Sorry this is happening!!! I just had to cut a pumping time from my schedule so I now only pump around 6oz total a day (and liam takes 12oz) so I continue to pump before I got to bed (usually 2 hours after he last ate) and am starting to dip into my freezer stash.

I'm really hoping I can get him to 11months. I will be ok with introducing cows milk in his 11th month.

This was me! Always an RTT lurker but not sure when/how to jump in.
  • Okay - I'm going to try to get more involved! The daily chats seem a little more manageable. So for those of you talking about transitioning to cow's milk, our ped actually told us this week that we could start now if we wanted. I was a little surprised and don't think I'll do it yet, but just thought you might be interested. Sounds like your peds think later though.

I've never given formula and wouldn't want to start now, but might give milk a try so that I can get away for a few hours without having to pump...
  • Got a picture of J doing some craft at daycare today... made me super sad.  I so want to be doing fun things like that with my babe.
  • There was an incident this week at my 7th graders school. Some perv was contacting girls through snapchat and sending them photos and lewd messages. Something like 140 girls were involved. Rumor has it a registered sex offender had been arrested for it. SO So happy my daughter doesn't have that app or Instagram or any other similar apps.

That is awful! I feel like parenting now is so much harder with all the technology. How do you decide when to get your kid a phone? Does everyone have a smartphone?? How do you monitor their activity on it?
  • My pedi told us last week we could start introducing some milk now. We have given it to her a few times but she isnt that interested yet.
  • J gets a slapped cheek appearance when I have milk, and one time at daycare he put his hand in another kiddo's spilled cow's milk, and then touched his face.  He lit up like a Christmas tree.  So we're staying away from dairy til we can get an allergy test.
  • Our ped told us the same - but almond milk due to cmpa. He drinks it out of a sippy cup but still takes a good 6oz of neocate a day. I hope to drop the neocate soon!
On another note... I go back to work in April and I'd like to get this guy drinking milk (whatever kind) during the day and drinking breastmilk in the am when he wakes and before bed. Any ideas how to accomplish this?! Totally lost here.
  • @thejewelster I'd think that during the day for the first week or so you'd want to pump once or twice during the day to alleviate engorgement, and then you could wean yourself off of that pumping time slowly.  I'd assume he would still want to nurse when you got home and again before bed.
  • I also have a sneaking suspicion lo might have some kind if dairy allergy, although perhaps mild....he has spit up the few times I've given him cheese, and gets a few little dots that could be hives. He's also been constipated pretty much from 6 weeks on. I didn't think of almond milk, though! Stupid, but it kind of makes me sad to give him "grown up" milk.

And for what its worth, I stay home 4/7 days a week and have done ZERO crafts with the baby. Sometimes I feel guilty I don't send him to daycare for things like that!
  • Just got super excited that Crossroads was on TV and my H is out of town and can't complain....then got shut down when I found out its on some channel called Fused we don't get. Super sad, such a guilty pleasure. I watched it twice at the drive in in college. Not a girl, not yet a woman, people.
  • @thejewelster I did that with my first and plan to do the same with this LO. I basically worked my way up to it for a month prior. I started with replacing one session a day with milk for a week, then dropped another one and so on.... That way my supply adjusted gradually and I didn't wind up having to pump at work.

I did this with my 1st. I was still at home, so not pumping. I replaced one nursing session per week with milk until I was only nursing in the am and before bed. It took about a month and never any engorgement. Slow and steady...
  • So I'm trying this new thing where I don't eat after 7pm. Night snacking is such a bad habit, especially since DS is usually up and I'm bored. Maybe it'll help me lose a few pounds!
  • @myla14‌ you know I just figured this out... I love breast feeding but I have to keep a healthy baby first. Brady was waking up a lot during the night and though oh it's just a phase! No!!!!! He was hungry because my suply is dropping I gave him and 8oz bottle he chugged it and slept through 8am I felt guilty buying the formula but whatever keeps my baby happy and healthy...he also started to lose weight now that I do the calculations
