As a FTM how did it feel when the baby started moving and how far along were you? I'm just over 17 weeks and I have a weird feeling in my belly that I can't even explain. I am thinking it is baby though! No pain or issues so I know nothing is wrong.
Didn't feel her until 19w. When I did, it felt like tiny bubbles in my uterus. It wasn't just a generalized feeling. I felt real movement, but I will say that the first time around, it's hard to know what you're feeling.
Baby girl Lila born 2013.
Baby boy Henry born 2015. Expecting our capstone baby (boy) early March 2018.
It felt like I had swallowed a live goldfish, and that it was swimming around inside me. I started feeling it consistently around 20-21 weeks and it got progressively stronger. Now I can tell what bits are hands and what bits are feet.
I definitely had the goldfish movements for a few weeks, may have been gas but I'm saying it's baby. Now I'm feeling more pronounced bumps against my belly. I can't wait for my hubby to feel him move.
With DS I felt my first for sure movement at 19 weeks during our A/S. I saw him move and felt it and put two and two together. I probably felt things earlier than that, but didn't think about it being the baby (for whatever reason).

I am a couple days away from my 17th week mark and I JUST felt my baby yesterday morning. It was unlike any other feeling to me, and I can't quite describe it really. I haven't felt it again, but I definitely know what it was! I hope you feel yours soon!!
I've felt a few flutters myself and wondered if it's gas. Finally a couple days ago it was strong enough to know for sure its the baby. Im 19 weeks now. It's so fun to feel him moving around in there!
21 weeks when I started feeling, was feeling all kinds of things in that area for a few weeks prior - lots of little jabs and pinches and I felt pretty special to feel one helluva strong baby so early (his dad is a huge dude so I thought it was sweet) Now I feel it consistently and its the real deal so I know those early 'jabs' were muscle spasms.
I started to feel flutters at around 18 weeks, then the movement started to feel more like little pokes here and there. Now I'm 22 weeks and can feel him all the time, it's a great feeling!
I'm 22 weeks and have been feeling flutters for about a week. No kicks yet. Everyone is different. My cousin is also pregnant with her first and felt strong kicks by week 18.
You will know... When you feel it, I explain it as if someone was "flicking" me inside lightly, or a light muscle twitch (but different).. You will know
A little after 16 weeks, I started feeling "Mexican Jumping Beans". The goldfish and butterfly feelings weren't a good enough description. I felt it mostly when I would put my feet up at the end of the night or up against my seatbelt while driving. I'm 21 weeks now and feel lots more movement and turning over. Can't tell what's a jab vs a kick. I can't wait to feel the hicoughs!! Enjoy it mama!
I have a question for you ladies.. Bc I'm a heavier woman (size 20) will it take longer for me to feel movement? Just wondering thanks!
Your size should make no difference to when you feel internal movements but may effect how soon you are able to feel movement from the outside. Hope that helps.
I thought I felt movement around week 17, but I thought it might have also been gas. Since about week 18 1/2 I was sure it was movement. S/he's been pretty active this week (week 20) and has kicked me good a couple of times.
