Has anyone NOT done the NT scan?

So, you're saying that if you found out that your baby had some sort of defect that could be fixed or cured or whatever in utero or directly after birth, you wouldn't do anything? I'm fine with people choosing not to do testing (we didn't do the first trimester screening), but please stop implying that diagnostic testing is only for people who might choose to terminate. It's simply false. If I can prevent the death of my newborn by having a team of doctors ready to take care of him or her because I did testing, I'm going to do it.

@effthisnoise don't even waste your breath - these idiots clearly think that the only purpose genetic testing serves is to diagnose Downs Syndrome.

We opted out of all the extra screenings. I have GD so I'm already getting more than usual but we are not at high risk for anything and insurance will not pay for it so we decided not to do it.

I had the screenings with my DD and I never would have chosen to terminate. And since we had them done my daughters life was saved! She has spina bifida and a few other medical problems. Having that information let us plan with the children's hospital and have everything ready for when she was born. It's really ignorant for people to say it's only for women who would terminate. I also chose to have it done with this little one. She has no problems and that put my mind at ease because of my daughters medical issues.
