July 14 has been a wild ride. So many people leaving after we had our babies and already being connected through FB. Then the bat fish crazy faker scared off many. Now mass exodus because of the bannings and new TOU.
I've been reading lots of other boards here and it's interesting to watch how this is playing out. I love group dynamics.
I did not join the other board, but I have lurked some.
Our July 14 group has dwindled down so much and it looks like parenting is the big group there. Not sure how well I'd fit in, the last boy band I was in to was New Kids On the Block in the early 90s. I see lots of New Direction fans.
I feel like I invested some time here, but haven't made the connections I was hoping for. I'm not sure how much more I want to invest when I'm not really developing friendships. July 14 is probably going to get smaller there and parenting will probably absorb our active posters.
I don't want to GBCB yet, so I think I'll just see how it goes.
I'm still here. I have lurked a bit on the other board, but the site isn't as easy on my cellphone. I check this one daily. A little sad to see so many people leave
I'm still here. I wasn't very active here, a few posts here and there. But I lurked, and found so many answers to my questions and saw that I wasn't alone in most issues I was dealing with. I hate that it went down like this and we lost our community. I went to the other place, but it's difficult on mobile and I like our little group here better.
Still checking the app, though not as frequently. Didn't join the other site and not sure I will. I've been on the knot/nest/bump for a really long time. I may take this as the final reason to just delete my account and move on. Haven't decided yet.
I've been here for a long time (2007 on the Knot and 2010 on the Bump). I only stop by a couple times a week and I'm not really interested in jumping to the new board. I'm also not really interested in anything but my BMB. There's too much drama on the other boards.
I check in here mainly out of habit. I'm converting over to the other place. I feel like I've overstayed my welcome, and that's ok.

Plus, I don't give a crap in a hat about the new TOU. I pretty much try to not be an a-hole to you guys...even without them telling me I'm not allowed to be one
5 years TTC, no luck with IUI's, failed IVF June 2013,
FET Oct 2013 with delayed transfer, intralipids, lovenox & prednisone= first BFP of my life!
I'm at both places, but different SN there. I mostly get to check in at work. Sad for what happened with TB, but I figure maybe I can find good people/useful info on both sites so win/win.
I'm still here on and off but I missed everything that went down too. Working full time plus not spending as much time nursing now that the LO is getting older leaves me with little time to bump.

Pretty much my story exactly. I have my morning/afternoon bus ride, but that time is used for all my internet/ap usage time... And the bump doesn't always win
Mods warn bump they will not be received well and more importantly a lot of wording is open to interpretation and will create confusion
Bump posts guidelines anyway, bans mods without provocation mostly from parenting which "coincidentally" the new guidelines seem to be directed towards
All hell breaks lose, bump blames that for banning even though the bans were first.
All mod privs are removed.
Posts are deleted left and right, bump blames being "hacked" but the deleted posts seem to be anything against the new guidelines or asking questions about the unexplained bans.
Some mods try to work with the bump to get apologies and protect their communities, other mods like me stick around because we can't help but watch everything unfold.
Bump strings mods and community along for a week promising explanations and apologies.
Bump closes mod board and sends a form letter to all mods and posts a bunch of BS.
Yes it started with the mods but it became so much more. I dont really care one way or the other. But its really a bad car accident that you cant look away from.
There was mass bannings on the parenting board. For no real reason and with no explanation. It seemed like if someone questioned the new guidleines they were banned. And if someone started a thread questioning the guidelines they were banned.
So them people started the pro boards. And were sneding out links to said boards. And they were getting banned because they were trying to drive traffic away from the bump.
Then people got fed up and started pushing back. A ton of people wanted their histories and accounts deleted and the admins were responding and they werent responding in general.
The admins were "moving" or deleting threads to the Bump HQ board but no one could find it. It was finally published but people still werent getting answers.
So now thousands have left. Even more have taken "vows of silences" or are standing in "solidarity" against the bump.
So now its a waiting game to see if XO group caves or if more people actually leave and what this site becomes.
FWIW, the TOU never changed. Its the guidelines that are new. And the guidelines are all rainbows and unicorns. They say you are not allowed to say "fuck off" and you are not allowed to pot stir among other things.

I agree with some of your views. I am definitely NOT a One Direction fan .. I didn't even know what the "Larry" threads were about until I joined the other site. I agree that we have lost quite a few J14ers, but there is still a good core group of women on pro boards. The Parenting board is just as popular as it was here but they have been great at welcoming new people. There are quite a few nice features and they admins there have been great at listening to the wants and needs of their members and adjusting things accordingly. C'mon...give it a shot!
I have not had time to check in since July. The past almost-seven months have gone by so fast. I missed all this drama, I guess. I wish you all the best!
Can I even ask where the new board is? Thought I'd check it out but I don't know where it is! I really still like this board and I wish we didn't have a mass exodus!
