Tuesday spam!

Re: Tuesday spam!

  • Soooo sleep has gotten gross. Ha ha!! I wake up constantly through the night to just switch sides and one time I woke up I was spitting on my pillow...I know I've been drooling but I think I was dreaming about getting sand in my mouth. I've been snoring so loud it wakes me up...and the SO decided to kick my leg to get me to stop. Ha ha! I just want one more good night sleep before baby gets here.

  • Ha sounds about right! I feel bad for my husband. I imagine it must be like sleeping next to a wild animal at this point..

  • Between rolling over every 15 minutes and getting up to pee every 45 my sleeps about the same! On another note I had my 38ish week check up today. And I can't STAND my doctor she doesn't tell me any information. Even when I ask her specific questions she cops an attitude. While doing a cervical check she goes "I can feel it" so I said "what does that mean?" (Referencing "it" dilation? Effacement? Baby dropping?) and she goes "it means you're due in two weeks". Like really?? "It" could be anything. Turns out the "it" she was referring to was my sons head............ But I had to pry to get that info from her.
  • @tlglass91‌ oh my gosh! Sorry to hear your doctor has such a nasty attitude! If I were you I would change doctors.
  • @DHarpster‌ at this point it is pointless to
Change. We're military so I had to move at 30 weeks and get a new doc. I only have to see her one more time and she will not be the one to deliver me because in Germany the hospital docs and midwives deliver you. I don't plan on ever seeing her again after my appt in 2 weeks. Wish I could change though. Unfortunately the doctors attitudes here in Germany are "the doctor knows best and you don't really need to know much"

@tlglass91 that's like a bad joke! Funny how just one border away the midwives' attitudes are really different. Everything is up to mamma and we're constantly given information pamphlets on our options (so much info that it's hard to keep all the options straight!)

My spammmm... The home nurse visits tomorrow (in Holland you get discharged from hospital around 2 hours after you deliver and then for 8 days a nurse comes to your house a few hours per day to take care of you). Apparently some of them are really judgy about the cleanliness of your home, the things you've bought for baby and the supplies you have for them to take care of you/the house. So here I am... cleaning the house to make a good impression so that the nurses don't make me feel terrible about myself. Something wrong with this whole picture :-P

Between nesting and the possibility of being judged I would be going crazy cleaning too! And yeah it sounds like their a lot more helpful there! Here it's like a sin to question the doctor. The next time she refers to my baby as "it" someone's getting a little a$& whoopin'
  • @tlglass91‌ jeez...I'm sorry to hear that! Must be pretty stressful moving somewhere so different that far along in your pregnancy. Hopefully things are better in the hospital.

@maasybaby‌ I wouldn't mind a nurse coming to take care of me. Ha ha but I wouldnt do well with the whole judging thing. That Sounds More Stressful Than Helpful
  • Im right there with you with getting horrible sleep. Last night baby was kicking my ribs so bad I had to get up. Ughh. I also had my 36w and group b test today...wasnt too bad, I got nervous for nothing! I also threw up in my hand and peed my pants on the way home..yay! Haha
  • I had my 36 week appointment today and GBS test. I also found out I am 4 cm dilated. She said it's very possible we'll be having a late-January baby!

  • @tlglass91‌ I actually love my doctor here in Berlin! I've got a midwife for birth that I adore too but I've been seeing a super awesome gyn for the most of my pregnancy. He talks me through everything, spends tons of time with me, and makes sure I understand every choice. I'm sorry you've got a bad egg.

My spam... I've been (shockingly) a non-emotional pregnant lady. I always thought "when I get pregnant... I'm going to be a disaster" but my DH thinks I've actually been more calm and sane while pregnant.

Well, it's all changed in the last week. I am losing my shit left and right. I'm only 34 weeks, 4 days and I'm nervous about the last weeks ahead of me.

I was supposed to meet with a woman this morning who has cancelled on me 3 times now, always the day before, and always rescheduling. Well I haul my crampy self on public transportation where no one offers me a seat, walk through the sleet, arrive at the building and hike up 2 flights of stairs to be told she can't meet with me today and her assistant "should have gotten in touch."

The rational response was to cry and feel terrible and skip work and stay home in bed the rest of the day, right?

I've tried everything I could this winter to keep from getting sick! Got my flu shot, make sure I take my vitamins regularly and I wash my hands obsessively everywhere I go... and of course I woke up this morning with a horrible sore throat and my body feels like it's been ran over by a mack truck. Hoping baby stays cooking until mama is all better. I reallyyy hate being sick :(

    Edit: I can't type.

I feel you on this one! I had to do the 3 hour glucose test and between the test itself, the temperature of the office, and the uncomfortable chairs I literally thought I was dying. You would think they could cater more to their patients!
  • @dreemkin84‌ who's going to reply to the mucus plug/yeast infection one!? She said no yelling!
  • The cleaning lady was in this morning, I had lunch at the mall, bought a purse, and got a massage! Oh and did 2 loads of laundry. Woowho! Look at me go! I need a nap...

Totally the rational response:) I wish I had your luck with doctors!! After this baby I will not return to this lady. And from what people seem to say the male doctors seem nicer here so I may choose a male next time?
  • Okay the bump dropped thread is up to 5 pages now and I still haven't opened it. I'm debating reading it or taking a nap.

Now all I can think about when I look at my finger nail is a mucus plug......
  • @BellinghamMama‌ because birth clubs are such negative environments..........
  • Now all I want to do is watch that @maasybaby‌!

Seriously with all these dumb questions and the visuals... I feel like the babysitters' club.

Say hello to the people who care. Now it's stuck in my head ha
  • @miska29 that thread is ridiculous.  All I've gathered from it is that according the WK, telling someone to call their doctor is the same as calling someone stupid.  So now I'm just going to tell people it's probably nothing and to sit at home and pray nothing happens to their baby.  Oh, and to keep us posted.  Because that's the responsible answer.

  • What do you all think of this "professional moderators" business that just got posted 20 mins ago? Sounds like a bunch of babysitters to me.

Randomly, I watched that movie over the summer on Netflix! It's as good as I remembered. All of the random posts are completely nuts (thereby making you all the babysitters club). I read through them while in the waiting room for my check up but didn't have the energy or patience to respond to any. Kudos to you ladies!

At my appointment, my doctor confirmed that my little girl is still head down and looking good! Crazy that the appointments are every week now...

Someone just actually told a member "baby is fine to be born at 36 weeks. I'm speaking from personal experience and it's her choice to naturally induce" on the "37 weeks and dilated. .." thread. ~X( I just can't.
  • @maasybaby‌ - it's funny you said you are a test dummy, because today for the first time there was a nurse practitioner (but she must've been in training) in with my OB. She took fundal height, tried (and needed help with) the Doppler, and seemed nervous. I bet it is interesting having that every week!

@Wimcgrath‌ the woman who gave birth at 36 weeks is obviously in LaLa-Land and has no clue how serious having a baby before they ,and your body ,are ready can be.
