Because it sounds like my fellow lurkers want to try and breath some life into this board, I thought it might be good to have a thread for new introductions. So we can all get to now each other better. Also anyone who's been posting is more than welcome to post a refresher!
And to get things started, I guess I should tell a little about myself. I'm a FTM and have been lurking here since I first found out I was pregnant forever ago. My DD was born October 30 after having to be induced for hypertension. After 51 hours of labor (yeah it really really sucked) she was born at 10:26pm weighing 6lbs 14ozs. She's now 11 weeks old and we're seeing the doctor this Wednesday for her 2 month appointment (yep it's a little late). I'm a stay at home mom for now. Husband and I just moved from Texas to Oklahoma where he's now stationed with the Air Force and going through flight training. So basically I'm a single mother for the time being because he's so busy with 12 hour work days and studying in whatever time he has off. I'm still scared to take Little Miss to the grocery store by myself. I think that's about all there is about me.
Random: I have the song "Getting to Know You" stuck in my head from posting this. Now I want to have a musical marathon tomorrow.
@anlicsceadu what a great idea! I just re-intro'd not to long ago after a bump sabbatical because of real life, so I won't here. But I love this group and am so glad everyone is pulling together to keep it going!
I can't imagine 51 hours on labor! You poor thing!! I think after this thread we need a Birth Story thread for everyone who didn't share there's.
Edit: Pips posted for me before I was done (as usual)
I've been pretty regular on TB since about halfway thru my second trimester, and I post way more on FB now because TB became a ghost town lol
I'm a FTM to Talon Reid, he was due on 11/28, but he's stubborn and didn't arrive until 12/2 after 28 hours of labor (my birth story is lurking around somewhere). I live in Oklahoma obviously with my FI, SD, LO, and 2 dogs. My SD is 8 and in 2nd grade and we keep her a week on, week off.
I am employed at AT&T, but I am on a LOA and I'm not 100% sure I will be returning due to the demanding hours. No weekends or holidays off. The pay is awesome, and that would be my only motive to go back.. Which if the oilfield slows down much more I may not have a choice to go back, but I don't wanna think about that until I have to!
I'm a FTM to Ella. I was due on 12/1 but she was born on 11/25 7lbs 12oz. I live in Ohio with my DH and we've been married 4 years.
I'm a manager and makeup artist for a prestige brand. I've worked for them for 9 years and I love my job! I'm lucky and still have 4 weeks left of my leave and am bittersweet about returning.
My LO is also colicky so I'm afraid to go anywhere with her besides visiting family. She's also a total mommy's girl (for now). Oh and she's EBF.
FTM to Russell, due 11/26, came on 12/10! 3 long days of induction, but did get a vaginal birth.
He is 6 weeks tomorrow, prepping up for that dreaded growth spurt, every time he has a bad night or fussy moment I'm sure "this is it!"
I am a speech pathologist in a K-8 public school, thinking of returning in march part time, but not sure, would love to be a SAHM if Hs salary would carry us through.
I have a son who's 21/2 and little girl, Sawyer, who was born 11/14. I also have a step son who is 10.
I'm a L&D nurse in Ohio. I go back to work in 2 weeks. Although I love my job, I'm not looking forward to going back, especially since I work nightshift.
I have LO's 2 month checkup today. Not looking forward to it:(
Hi! Long time lurker and FTM to Charles Michael Etsal (2 middle names) due 11/5, came on 11/2. 25 hours of labor and 3.5 hours of active pushing. This boy is as stubborn as his mamma! Came out with his hand and head at the same time and he still insists on sleeping with one hand by his head. I am a geriatric nurse working long term care and rehab. Consistent hours with a relatively slow turn over in patients with low acuity so it makes it easier to get my pumping in at work. DH is a cable installation tech. Not so consistent schedule, but he almost always gets overtime which allows me to not have to work 5 days a week. We got pregnant the day we moved to Washington state and so we are now putting down roots and plan to stay here, a new concept for him and I!
I've been lurking since my BFP, like anlicsceadu. The board has been such a wealth of knowledge for me. You all seem like an awesome group of gals, I'm bummed I didn't come out of the shadows sooner!
I'm a FTM and DS was born 11/24. DH and I are both from (and currently live in) SoCal. We got married earlier this year. We were hoping for a honeymoon baby but ended up getting KU a couple months before. So far we've been a good team while trying to navigate this whole parenting thing. I totally scored in the "hands on" husband dept!
I look forward to participating and I promise not to start one million discussions about how my baby is sleeping hehe
I have a 2.5 y/o DD and DS is 11 weeks today. I've been mostly lurking (barely active) since BFP but have been on the Bump since I was pregnant with DD.
I never posted my birth story, but DS was my dream labor and delivery. I prepared for another natural birth and got it. Got to the hospital at 9:20pm and he was born at 10:52.
I go back to work in 2 weeks. I'm working by choice and love my job but really wish I could have two more months off without losing a lot of perks.
Hi ladies, I've been lurking since the middle of my pregnancy. I'm a FTM to a little boy due 11/3 and born 11/7. Labor was uncomplicated just like my pregnancy, thankfully!
I live in the Chicagoland area with my husband and menagerie of pets (3 cats and a dog). I currently work 55 hours a week as a nanny and lo gets to come with me, but I will be becoming a SAHM in April when my husband graduates police academy and we move into our first house! I am super looking forward to that because having DH and I both out of the house 12 hours a day right now is killer.
Hi N14 ladies! I have been lurking since April and have learned so much from you all being that I am a FTM. Once I thought I was ready to post, I was worried about jumping in so late. I am glad that this post was created so that I feel more comfortable getting started even though so many changes have taken place recently!
My son was born on 11/12/14 and it has been a little bit of a rocky road due to reflux and colic but it is getting better each day.
I'm from the Pittsburgh area and look forward to getting to know you mamas!
Hi ladies! I started out as a D14 mom but left the bump for a while for multiple reasons. After my 3rd baby was born(via VBAC after 2 CS) on 11/28 I started lurking in the N14 boards! I wanted to post many times but didn't want to intrude on a group of ladies who had already been together so long!
Like I said, I'm a mom of three(ages 9, 6 and 7 weeks) and while I should be experienced, many days I feel like a new mom starting all over again. Oh yeah....I am!! I was blessed with a super cute little boy but wow, he is my neediest yet!
I am a SAHM/WAHM. I work part time from home 16-20 hours per week so I'm able to contribute a little but financially while still being home for my kiddos. It works for us....for now!
I'm looking forward to being more active on here and getting to know some ladies, new and old!
I'm a long time lurker and have posted a few times very early in my pregnancy.
I'm a FTM to a baby boy born on 11/15. I had a 12 hour labor and 1.5 hours pushing period. We planned a natural birth and took bradley method classes. Thankfully everything went well and as planned.
I'm still a bit confused as to whether some of the regulars here were banned or they stopped posting as a protest to the new changes. Either way, the board has been so helpful and informative it's a shame to see it turn into a ghost town.
I exclusively mobile bump so please bear with me if there are formatting or other issues in my posts. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday.
Hello! I've been lurking since my bfp. STM here. I have an 8 yr old DS named Keegan. My second DS, Finnigan, was due 11/30...arrived 12/7. I was induced with only 3 hours between the pitocin and giving birth.....way different than my 23 hour experience with my first son! Finnigan was 9 lbs 5 oz and 23 inches long, so a fairly big boy! Everything moved very quickly and I didn't even have time for an epidural...the anesthesiologist had a 30 min response time and arrived when Finnigan was already out and on my chest. Never felt pain like that before lol!
I work full time+ in Supply Chain/Demand Planning, with some pretty demanding hours and a heavy/stressful workload. I have 8-1/2 weeks of maternity leave left, but am VERY nervous about how I will manage my job (and manage it well) with a little one at home. Nighttime and weekend hours will HAVE to become a thing of the past. However, with the astronomical daycare costs around here, I don't even know if leaving to do something with less responsibility would even be feasible. So...I'm stressing about it. I wish every day that I could find a way to be a SAHM for a couple of years....
Anyway...I've enjoyed lurking here and will try to post a bit here and there to help keep things going!
I'll play! I kept to the twin check in for the most part, so non-twin moms probably won't know me. My duo were born on 10/24 at 36+3.
I think the fog is finally beginning to clear for us . Hopefully that means I can participate some!!
oklahomamom09 My SO is actually stationed at Vance AFB in Enid, OK. So far I'm loving it! I think Oklahoma is just like Texas' brother, because it still feels like home. We'll be here through March '16 and then it's off to where ever the Air Force sends us. I'm going to miss this friendly little city. But I am hoping for a station in England or Germany at some point!
Another 10/24 LO here. Original EDD was 11/2, but I guess she was an eager beaver. Was a bit small and stuggled with jaundice and slow weight gain. Saw an LC twice, latch looked good but poor transfer. We now bottle feed by EPing and formula supplementing, about 50:50 or 40:60.
Just secured day care for when I return to work. Struggling to get her to sleep on a flat surface instead of just the RNP.
Hi I have been lurking here since my 2nd trimester. I have been married for a little over a year and my husband came with two boys 10 and 12. They are pretty great kids. I have sweet baby boy who was born 11/14. Going back to work next week and so nervous about daycare.

Awesome! I live in elk city I forgot about the base in Enid. It is a good town!
Hello! I'm a FTM, my boy was born October 28 2014. I went from having a pretty uneventful pregnancy to developing pre-eclampsia one random weekend. BP was slightly elevated on thursday and they induced me Monday. Baby E was born Tuesday night after I labored for 36 hours to 9cm and then had a C-Section. I was 37 weeks on the dot. He weighed 8Ibs 5oz even though he was 3 weeks early! I've sincerely enjoyed reading along with this forum even though I felt too shy to say anything before now. I'm looking forward to being brave and getting to know you ladies.
Hi ladies! I am also a long time lurker since my bfp in March but only posted a couple of times early on because I was fairly shy. I have been wanting to jump back in but it felt like it was too late!
I am a first time mom to Max (Maxwell) who was born November 20,2014 by c-section. He was 8lbs 5 ounces and 19.5 inches long he was 16 pounds at the pediatricians office last week at 7.5 weeks. He is ebf and a great eater! He is still waking every 2-3 hours at night to eat but I don't mind middle of the night cuddles!
My husband and I have been married for 2.5 years and he has been phenomenal with Max and with helping with the house. I have not cooked, grocery shopped or cleaned (except for doing a load of dishes occasionally) since just beforeMax was born!
I will be returning to work as a healthcare analyst/consultant in two weeks and although I live mu job I'm dreading leaving my baby.
I'm excited to get to know you ladies and am going try to be brave and be active on the board!
Hello, I'm a stay at home mom of two lovely ladies, Summer 2.5 and Selby 2 months. We live in south Florida. My husband works from home and Summer goes to Montessori preschool 3 times a week. We have two idiot dogs. I used to work in property management and have a BA in psychology. My labor with #2 was super short and intense. I got to the hospital in labor and at 5 cm, 100% and dilated to 10 in 30 mins while they were checking us in and trying to get an IV in my writhing arm. Soooo no epidural for me. I had to do it au naturale and woo was that crazy. I screamed like the exorcist, but I go through it obviously. It was 3 hours of labor total. Because little one wasn't all doped up with drugs she latched right on. She is a great breast feeder and she rarely cries. My other child had colic and cried from 8-12 every night. I feel very blessed to have a "normal" baby this time.
Hello! I'm a FTM to Cooper Martin who was due on 12/1. He was born on 11/20 via emergency c-section after 19 hours of labor. Turns out I have a heart shaped pelvis, and there was no way he was coming out that way! This was our second pregnancy. Our first ended in a loss at 7 weeks.
About me. I'm 26 and DH is 28. We have one spoiled rescue pup named Ellie. I work in banking and I'm dreading returning to work in a couple of weeks.
I mostly posted on D14 and was active up through the halfway mark. Life got in the way and I really regret not continuing to post. I have learned so much from ladies around here and would love to get to know you ladies more if you will have me!
Fellow lurker here! I am a FTM. Knox was due Nov 8 but my water broke at home one night and after 12 hours of labor and three hours of pushing he arrived via C section on 10-27 at a healthy 7 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches! I got to stay home with him for 10 weeks and went back to my teaching position after Christmas break!
Hi everyone! I'm a FTM been lurker for two years.... Started on ttgp before we Actually started trying and on this bored since my BFP. I've only posted once or twice her and there. My LO was born 11-6 @ 39 wks Labor was 4 hours and made it without the epidural. I came in at 4cm and 80% effaced and was a 10 within 1hr and a half. Had a little trouble pushing but he made it out A little about me: I am a pediatric RN and graduate this December with my APN in pediatrics. Needless to say I am very busy but hoping to get more involved. I waiting to long to join in but now seems like a good time to jump in while all my fellow lurker a are speaking up.
Hi everyone! I've recently started lurking..I've been more active on the breastfeeding page. My husband and i tried getting pregnant for 2.5 years before doing IVF. which luckily resulted in a successful and healthy pregnancy. My baby girl (Brooklyn) was due 11/5 but was born 11/10 after being induced and in labor for 23.5 hours. 1.5 hours was active pushing. Like @arts my daughter was born with her hands in front of her face...still has them in front of her face all the time.
I work for the army as a contract specialist and sadly will be returning to work in a little over 2 weeks I'm starting Brooklyn in daycare the week before I go back so we can both slowly adjust to daycare. I am from Iowa.
I've been reading posts since my second trimester. I was originally placed on the D14 group with my due date 6 December. But LO arrived on thanksgiving morning (27 November) after 7 hours of labor (although I thought it was just really bad cramps until 4 hours before) and 30 mins of pushing. I'm happy to join such a wonderful group of ladies!
I'm a FTM, finishing writing my dissertation for my PhD in history from a British university, living in NYC at the moment with my DH (last term med student) LO and our dog. I'm finding being a SAHM both wonderful and overwhelming and breastfeeding (EBF) has been a challenge. I'm glad to be part of this community!
Hello I didn't find you guys till my third trimester so I felt a little weird just jumping in. Sorry in advance but I'm on mobile. I am a stm my girl well be four in july, and my little man was born 11-28-14 both were c-sections. My first was breech so I didn't get to experience all the lovely baby being low stuff. My first birth experience was bad i am allergic to morphine but didn't know it at the time. So my second was alot easier and I am actually getting to efb.
Another long time lurker here and was also hesitant to post. To be honest, after reading some especially catty/sarcastic/rude responses it made me less than eager to participate. But I'm going to give it a shot! I'm 33yo and live in Northern California. My baby girl was due 11/19, and was born on 11/23 after an eventful 22 hours of labor and scary delivery. Totally worth all the craziness and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I am a FTM and a step mama to a 15 yo SD and 11 yo SS. My husband has obviously had some practice and is amazing with the baby! It's helped me to not excessively worry about little things because he is just so calm about everything to do with having a new baby. I am a therapist and in management, getting ready to go back to work in 3 weeks. And like others have mentioned, I absolutely love my job but am dreading going back to work and leaving baby girl. I commute about 45 minutes each way a day so I keep thinking about how I'd much rather spend that time with my babe! I'll be going back part time for a while which I am so grateful for and my husband (who is self employed) will be home with her. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tiny bit jealous but feel really lucky to have her be with family all the time for now. We are EBF and I'm just now starting to pump to build up a freezer supply so could use some motivation around that. Hoping to be more active here! It was really nice to read about you all and have the opportunity to connect with other November mamas.
Hi Everyone, I'm newish to lurking on this board. My DD was born early and came in November instead of December. I only lurked on the December board. But now that I have a baby in my arms (and I seem to have forgot everything) I feel like I need somewhere to go. I hope to be part of this group. I made some amazing friends from my DS's BMB. I'm happy to meet you ladies!
I guess my husband is right... I'm always late to the party hi ladies. I'm a FTM to Gray who was due 12/8 and came 11/18 At 6lb 10oz. I work for the dept of education and went back to work at 8wk. I raise my 16yr old brother and 6yr old SD. We BF with supplementation for weight as my LO is in the 20th percentile for weight but 90th for length. My husband is a LEO and I am very proud of the work that he does.
Hi Everyone! Great idea with this post! I have been lurking and wanted to start to participate but didn't know how to start.
I am a FTM to and my baby Luke was born November 10th via C-Section. He was 7 pounds 6 ounces and 21 inches. I was on bed rest from 29 weeks on due to an "irritable uterus". I was also high risk because I had a low hormone level and the docs were concerned about interuterine growth restriction. But luckily he was born happy and healthy! I have to say my C-section amazing. I was so scared about it especially after hearing some horror stories. I had Luke on Monday and by Friday I was walking around Whole Foods myself. So I was very fortunate to have a speedy recovery. I am a psychologist but currently staying at home with the baby. My husband and I plan to move back to our hometown to be closer to both our families so I am waiting to go back to work until we have settled. As soon as we moved here I got put on bed rest so I don't know anyone in the area and it can get lonely. I tend to like to be around lots of people so this is an adjustment. Which is why I am so glad to have a community like this!
Hi all, I've been reading the N14 board since July but have mostly been a lurker. I posted a few times in the beginning but quickly got the feeling that the other group members were already so tight with one another that I kind of felt like an impostor! Also, I felt really uncomfortable reading some of the unkind comments and responses that were directed at "newbies" and it made me really hesitant to post because I was terrified I would unknowingly say the "wrong" thing. I'm glad to say hello to all of you ladies and that you're all still here using this board. I am not exactly sure what happened to cause the "mass exodus" but I am all for putting together a board where we can just support and help one another. I find as a new mom that it really helps to have a place to go to ask questions to see if others are experiencing the same things as me. My daughter was born on 11/27 and she is almost 11 weeks old. I am totally in love with her! She was due on 11/28 (those of you who have been reading this board for awhile know how funny that is) but came one day early on Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed my pregnancy and had a wonderful labor and delivery; we just had a lot of problems afterwards which I won't bore you with now! Things finally feel like they are beginning to smooth out a little. I am fortunate to be home with her until she's 15 weeks old. So T-minus 4 weeks until I have to go back to work. (I am a HS teacher.) I am not looking forward to putting her into daycare, even though the place we have lined up is great. I know it's going to be really difficult! Anyways, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I hope you other ladies continue to post and I will do the same!
Hi, I've never posted on this board. I was a regular in J13 back when DS was a NB. DD was born November 16 2014. I was wondering if there is a fb group, and if I may join?
Hi everyone I'm a FTM 11/6 I was posting kinda regularly starting in me second trimester. Got super overwhelmed after LO was born and it became such a ghost town that I just gave up on TheBump. But I just moved 1000miles away and need people to talk to and ask advice. I'm glad you ladies are trying to keep this board alive! Hopefully it stays for a while as this is such a great resource and outlwt for many women!
Life with new baby Avery has been a struggle. Sitting in hospital right now. her heart defect that wasn't a big deal became a big deal. She has 2 holes instead of just the one and on LASIK and digi. She has silent acid reflux really bad. Just had 2 month shots and now we've been in hospital for 3 days. . Will never do rotavirus vaccine again!
I was pretty active in the TTGP board but not as much once I was pregnant (because I was exhausted). but now that baby is sleeping through the night sometimes, I have some free time.
I gave birth to my second son on 11-17-14. Right smack on his due date. My body had quite a trying time during labor (sent home from the hospital twice saying I wasn't in labor until I hit 5cm and was admitted (cussed out my doc around 4 cm), weird epidural, scary low blood pressure, a heart tachycardia). But my baby was solid as a rock in his heart rate and arrived with only 1 push. He's sooo much easier than my first.

FTM here! I was on the December 2014 board during pregnancy but LO decided to come early in November. Was so busy with LO that I never got back to the December 2014 board after giving birth. LO decided to come 6 weeks early and was in the NICU for 9 days. We are still sorting that crazy bill with insurance 3 month later.
Just started back at work this week and missing LO terribly. LO is at daycare for 2 days and with my mom 3 days.

I've been lurking since my BFP, like anlicsceadu. The board has been such a wealth of knowledge for me. You all seem like an awesome group of gals, I'm bummed I didn't come out of the shadows sooner!

Just secured day care for when I return to work. Struggling to get her to sleep on a flat surface instead of just the RNP.
My LO was born 11-6 @ 39 wks Labor was 4 hours and made it without the epidural. I came in at 4cm and 80% effaced and was a 10 within 1hr and a half. Had a little trouble pushing but he made it out
A little about me: I am a pediatric RN and graduate this December with my APN in pediatrics. Needless to say I am very busy but hoping to get more involved. I waiting to long to join in but now seems like a good time to jump in while all my fellow lurker a are speaking up.
I'm newish to lurking on this board.
I am glad to meet you all!
I've been reading the N14 board since July but have mostly been a lurker.

Hope everyone has a great day!
