Pregnant after a Loss

Gift for my midwife.

Warning possible trigger***

My midwife has been a constant
source of support and help for me throughout this pregnancy. She was the midwife who was on call for the birth of my noah last year and was devastated when we lost him, she stayed in contact with us after the funeral and i feel a weird need to have her stay in my life as she was the first one to hold my baby when i never got a chanve to until he was gone and tried her absolute hardest to rescusitate him even though he simply was to poorly to survive. She will be there for my c section in 8 weeks time and i wanted to get a feel for others ideas on wether me getting her a gift would be weird or not? I was thinking a bracelet or something woth both my boys names on it? But as i said i dont know if this would be over stepping some sort of boundary :/ thankyou in advance

Re: Gift for my midwife.

  • If you have a special relationship with her, I think it's a sweet thing to get a gift, and she'll appreciate it. You might want something more subtle, though. I'm not sure, but it would seem weird to me to have your kids' names on a bracelet. A necklace with something symbolic--a meaningful design or even gemstones from their birth months--that would acknowledge them more obliquely would likely be worn more frequently. I don't think it would be weird unless it was too big a gift, but this is just my opinion.

    Good luck with your CS!

I agree, I think it's a beautiful idea and plan to do something for my midwife, too. I would advise against their names, though. I just don't know if it would be worn. Maybe a charm representing what she means to you?
