I will be 26 weeks tomorrow and do not have a huge bump. I wouldn't worry about it unless your doctor is worried. I will be popped out completely soon enough!
I'm 23w and only just starting to curve - haven't put weight on, but I'm tall so it's hiding well. Keep reminding myself that in 10w I'll be wishing I'm like this
Yall make me feel better. I'm 14 weeks and obsessing about where my belly is. My baby belly that is. I have a little fluff so I'm sure it will take longer for me to show actual baby belly. I've (stupidly) googles 14 week pregnant belly and seen this big baby bumps and wondered when mine will pop out.
For now I'm just enjoying the freedom of not having to suck in my fluff and if ppl mistake it for a baby bump them so be it

I've done the google thing too, but I chalk it up to those being second or + time moms, because I've never seen a FTM with a belly like that at 14 weeks! Whoa!
I've got some extra fluff too and was worried I'd look fatter instead of pregnant, LOL. I'm thinking because of my extra love, it'll be awhile until I show. If I run my hand across the area though I can feel my uterus, which is neat.

I can feel a little uterus bump too! That makes me feel a lot better to know everything is growing down there. I've been asked if I was pregnant before I even thought about being pregnant. My fluff just has a great way of accumulating right in the belly in a nice round way (not a flabby you can tell it's fluff and not baby way) So now I'm just letting it all hang out and enjoying my fake bump till my real one shows up! haha
I'll trade you bellys! I'm 18 weeks and every time I pass a co worker, I either get "are you sure it's not twins?!" or "you're going to need a wheel chair by the time you hit 9 months!!"
@staciecoffey seriously?? I've heard the "are you sure it's not twins" before. And while it's insensitive it's 100 times better than "you'll need a wheelchair by 9 mos" That one is new and I can't believe ppl would actually say that!

Fortunately they're all friends so I don't take it personally, but you'd be amazed at what all people say in response to belly size/far along you are.
People can be so rude. I don't know why they think it's okay to comment on a woman's size regardless.
I'm with you OP, I am 19 weeks and people keep telling me I don't look it. I just had portraits done (not maternity just regular) and the photographer was shocked when I told her halfway through that I'm pregnant. I'm getting sick of people telling me I'm not showing. I'm just starting to gain some weight back after losing 15-20 lb since falling pregnant. My close friends do tell me I'm showing. Not sure if it's because they know me better or because they're telling me what I want to hear, but I'll take it!
I didn't get a belly til mid-late 20's and wasn't noticeable enough for strangers to comment until like 31 weeks. It will come. Until then enjoy bending over.
I just popped yesterday (halfway through week 20) but still don't have a big bump. It was so random because it went from looking like I was gaining some weight in the middle and then BAM, I woke up and it turned into a bump overnight. Only way you could tell though is if I wear something tighter around my mid-section.
Most women only gain minimally in their first trimester (if they didn't lose because of morning sickness) and in your second trimester (at this stage) you should not be gaining in excess yet anyways
A lot of it depends on how the uterus is sitting, what your BMI was prior to pregnancy, and how you eat. Remember, in your second trimester you really only need an extra 350 kcal/day which is no more than a glass of milk and maybe a bagel (half if you put toppings on it). Most women do not really show until they are further along in their second trimester.
The BabyCenter has a weight tracking tool you can use but ultimately it will depend on how your healthcare provider feels (midwife or ob only as doula's cannot comment on health concerns including weight as they are not medically trained)
Don't fret - soon enough you will wish you could see your toes.
So glad I'm not the only one using my food-baby "bump" this way! LOL. I am enjoying the shit out of it. Heheh
Omg I'm the same way. I lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years and I still have the belly fat roll. But ALL of my husband's family is like "omg, you're showing already!!" and I'm like, "no, that's just a roll." LOL!
I'm 14 weeks now and I'll be *so glad* when I start showing so that I can finally say it's not just fat! haha!

Amen to that! I mean, I'm not ashamed of my chub, it is what it is... But when people come up to me like OMG YOURE SHOWING ALREADY HOW CUTE and rub my belly( which I absolutely cannot stand) I'm like...OMG noooo, def. not showing anything but chunk and how much I just ate! LOL. Then they feel dumb hahah.
Omg, when I was about 6 weeks, I went to give my mom a hug while she was sitting down and she pulled up my shirt and tried to kiss my "non-existanct baby-bump-fat-belly" and I nearly smacked her in the back of the head! LOL It was cute, in a way, because she wanted to kiss the baby. But I was like "no touchy!!" at least until I actually get a huge baby belly! haha!

Lol aww! That's sweet though I do find it hilarious when people bend over and rub and talk to my fat rolls. I agree with the no touchy thing! I would prefer to have that even with the bump because I hate being touched lol, but I know it's inevitable so I may as well get used to it.
Actually, you don't have to get used it it. It's your body and just because you're pregnant and swollen doesn't give others the right to touch you without permission. That's something I'm a firm believer of. When my best friend was pregnant, she said that when people (usually women) would touch her belly without asking, she would grab their boob or other random body part. She said they were always shocked and confused. But she explained, you didn't ask to touch my body, so I didn't bother asking to touch yours. =D =D

Fortunately the only people that touch my belly are my momma and my DH. He only touches it when I feel the baby move, and momma well she rubs it every time I see her and says hello little ting ting and before I leave. Everyone else has been super respectful which is nice since I'm most definitely showing.
Wait until baby #3. When I told my boss about my pregnancy at about 13.5 weeks she goes "Well duh! You're showing!". Oops. With #1 I think I received my first stranger comment at about 26 weeks. Also depends on what you wear. I'm 16 weeks now with a small but obvious bump. Wit my first, not so much.

I'd like to add my two cents...i'm 16.5 weeks, i'm overweight and i'm showing but in a different way...it looks more like a fat gut instead of a pregnant belly LoL.
@mrsdowster, I feel your pain. I lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years but still have a lot of extra skin that still makes me look overweight around the midsection. I'm terrified that I'm going to go my whole pregnancy not looking pregnant but like a fat lady. =( lol

I am also overweight...I call it my food baby. Haha.

I will have to say bless maternity pants. They do something to my chub rolls that makes them look like baby bump. I'll gladly play pretend. This will be the one time I can just unabashedly let my fat fly, I'm rolling with it.
I was a healthy weight before pregnancy and have kept up a healthy diet and exercise the whole time. It's my first baby and my stomach muscles were pretty tight, and I also have a long abdomen so plenty of room in there.
I didn't look the least bit pregnant until about 24 weeks. Even then, I could dress certain ways and there is no way you would know. Now, there is absolutely no mistaking it. I look like I swallowed a basketball!
No one goes 9 months without looking pregnant!! No need to worry!
I love that she just touched their book or somewhere else lol. I've only had people touch my belly twice it was so weird the first time and unexpected. I'm *Fluffy* too lol so it's like uh that's all me... The baby is deeper in there for one for two why do you feel the need to rub my belly I'm the middle of a store randomly... I'm 16 weeks and still filling out I can feel it sticking out more when I lay down and feel and you can tell everything is starting to push its way out more but I'm not lucky enough for my chub to look like I'm pregnant yet.. hopefully soon just need the middle near my belly button to fill in more and I'll be happy lol.
