I have come down with a head cold stuffy runny nose throat is sore and I even have a headache from it all or maybe just the pregnancy but I want to know what I can do to help kick this cold with out taking any medicine.
Inhale steam with a few drops of lavender. I know you don't want meds, and I tried for two days to tough it out, but I finally took the doctor approved plain sudafed just twice and felt so much better. Good luck!
Im just getting over one! A mix of honey and lemon helps me a lot, i squeeze a lemon into a cup of honey and slowely swallow a couple of spoons 2-3 times a day. Make tea and inhale the steam, eat lots of fruit especially with vitamin c, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, mine got better after 3 days and it was tough but I do my best to avoid all meds in pregnancy
Put two cups of Epsom salt in a warm bath with a few drops of eucalyptus oil soak for 20-30 min then drink lots of water afterwards. It helps flush the toxins from the body also helps a little with constipation. feel better soon
Hot fluids, vit C, hard candy, sit in a steamy shower, neti pot. Tylenol and rest . My doc approves Sudafed while prego but I did not want to take anything if I didn't have too. It's awful, hope you feel better.
Sleep with a humidifier on and with a nasal strip on (like Breathe Right, but I get the generic!). That and I second the saline nasal rinse (either the netipot or the one with the bottle). Lots of fluids, reduce dairy to keep secretions thin. It sucks not being able to take medicine, I had a rough upper respiratory infection over the holidays and all I wanted was an Aleve-D.
