Re: Thursday Randoms!

  • @Skrittens‌ Fingers crossed LO makes it till 37 weeks, but we're all here for you as you get ready.

@FrecklesInside‌ I'm sorry your appointment was so discouraging. I am glad that you're advocating for yourself though. Hang in there.

  • @frecklesinside - sorry about the frustration / anxiety that type of conversation brought - that very talk would have MADE my blood pressure high! Maybe you can blame it on their stressful chat :)

@graciest719‌ - I would have FREAKED the F out if someone pepper sprayed my dog too. Our situation sounds similar to yours - frequently our dogs go potty out in the front yard - we have a back yard as well but the neighbor's dogs are extremely aggressive and if they are out - I choose to let mine out the front. The puppy we tie up, but my older dog listens and would come back if called. However; I'm not sure he would stay put if another person and dog came into our yard, especially if I was home by myself. He is pretty protective if DH isn't home. Mind you, hes a 12 lb mini aussie and NOT scary at all - but if he would have pepper sprayed either of mine, I think I would have chased him down the street and sprayed him too! How terrible!

AFM - add me to the list of ppl not sleeping well. I was SO tired last night, and just got the WORST sleep ever. Couldn't get comfortable - always felt like I couldn't lay still. Woke up with what I think is the beginning of a cold - can't breathe out of my nose and stuffy head. UGH. It is check in at the college this weekend, so I don't get a day off until NEXT Sunday - which means I dont have TIME to be under the weather.

  • I feel like someone kicked me in the vag. That is all.
You're not alone, momma! Between lightening crotch, pelvic pressure, and my shifty-ass pelvis (there's a technical term for this nonsense, where the bones start to separate, but my brain is failing me), I feel like I've been physically abused in the crotch. Only 2 more months! (repeating that makes it better.... right....  :-S )
  • @ruemorgan I got my BFP at 7 weeks, and I have 7 weeks left! You're right, time really does fly.

@FrecklesInside I'm so sorry that you have to deal with all of that.  I might be talking out of my ass (because I'm not a doctor) but one high BP reading shouldn't have brought on such a lecture about induction.  Wouldn't they need to see a pattern of having high BP readings in order to open up a discussion like that?

I know different practices do different things but mine has told me that because of my prior c-section, they will not induce me and if I don't go into labor on my own, it will be RCS.  Is your practice the same way or they will induce and you still have a chance at a VBAC?  I know how badly you want to go for it and just the talk of induction would make me frustrated and stressed out.

My last practice said no induction for vbac but this practice does allow induction and vbac. So that's good. If it did come down to induction, she still believes I have a good shot at a vbac. But again, there is no indication that I'm going to need one...which is why I was bummed we were having such a serious talk.
  • Is anyone else all of a sudden wondering how much worse the discomfort gets in the next two months?

It's only a past noon and I have a headache, swollen hands and an aching pelvis. I can't imagine these things improve as you get closer.

    :-/
  • Today is my future mother in laws birthday so we are going over to her house and my fiancé who is an awesome cook is making her a birthday dinner. I just made a strawberry cheesecake from scratch for desert and I'm exhausted. It's ridiculous hhow little it takes to tire me out these days

Seriously. I never thought I'd be this uncomfortable. I'm not ready for him to be out yet but damn my hips/pelvis hurt like hell!

ETA: TB hated me for a few minutes there. I kept getting an error message that I wasn't allowed to do anything. WTF?

I'm wondering. I just made no bake cookies, someone posted a picture on FB and I have no control, and the short amount of time I had to stand just to do that has my lower back/hips in serious pain.

Me! I had my son at 38 weeks, and I felt great up until I started contracting. I never really got super uncomfortable. But I'm so uncomfortable already. Sore back, especially tailbone, the pelvic pain that everyone's talking about. I'm only 30 weeks, and the thought of things getting worse in the next 10 weeks isn't really appealing. BUT, I do hope this baby stays in for the 10 weeks, so if the pain and discomfort get worse, I'll just put my feet up, wait for the baby, and someone will just have to teach my 2 year old how to get his own cereal... Lol jk.

@kcbizme It happened to me, too.  I tried to quote someone and it said I didn't have permission to do that.  I thought I got banned for a second but figured since I hadn't had any warnings that couldn't be it.

    Oh wait......
    Exactly..

I even sent someone a message just to see if I could and to see if I was banned! I had to log out twice and walk away from the computer. So strange.

Word. We'll take it and figure it out.
  • @Skrittens‌ Hoping that you get to hang on until 37 weeks!!

@FrecklesInside‌ That seems a little excessive for one high BP reading. I'm glad you are standing up for yourself though, sending all the hugs!

RJ has major hiccups right now. My whole belly is just shaking. DH felt her hiccuping for the first time and his face cracked me up!

We have our second childbirth class tonight, I can't wait! And add me to the list that can't believe Mel had her baby today...keep cooking, March babies!

I am about to fall asleep at my desk! Which brings me to a random: H told me he finished his book "Dude! You're Going to be a Dad!" yesterday. I asked him what he learned. He said that in the first year of their life we lose an average of about 6 months of sleep. I don't like the sound of that!
At our first childbirth class, one of the dad's recommended that book, so I bought it for H the next day because he seemed really interested in it. It's still sitting on the dresser even though he said he would read it. I think I might remind him about it.. LOL
  • Add me to the not sleeping well club and the OMG I'm not ready, there is still so much to do.

I'm pretty sure that my pelvis is starting to get wider (I'm sure there is a term for this) because I have been feeling pain or more like discomfort in my pubic bone region.  I teach ballet (just one class a week) and after class on Tuesday I could barely walk without being in at least mild pain.  I'm going to either demonstrate far less or have to stop before the end of the month like I had planned.

I have been very productive around the house in the last week and a half. Christmas is put away or at least in the garage.  The crib and dresser were ordered and picked up, the dresser has been put together and is in the nursery (the crib is still in the box).  I finally pulled out DS old clothes and started the process of going through it all, washing them and putting it away.  all while keeping up with the regular household tasks.  Nesting is amazing and exhausting!

also a little AW from me today check out our finished Shower!  We had to replace the tile on the floor of our shower because there was missing grout that was allowing water to get under the tiles.  We replaced it with sheets of river rocks, so comfy on my tired feet at the end of the day.  Anyways we are very proud of the work we did and the way it all turned out.

I also feel just sad about the bump, it just isn't the same.  And I agree with pp that it doesn't feel as "safe" anymore.

Hoping everyone can get some good sleep and  that all our aches and pains are manageable.

  • @FrecklesInside‌ - sorry about the appt. My practice is super conservative and I have the same - one high BP or protein after 34 weeks and they will deliver - no trying to manage it (and mine won't do RCS either). It sounds like yours isn't quite that severe - but I wonder if it could be regional - you are in the northeast too I think.

  • Thanks @jcar2, I'll look into spinning babies.

It is so ridiculously hot in my building at work. Apparently the ventilation system is messed up, which is harboring a ton of bacteria, making it really hot in here, and tons of people are getting sick. Ugh. I just stepped outside to cool off and I'm so ready to go home.

  • @mommyofkaylin‌ my baby is also still breech at 33 weeks, I'm going to ask my OBs permission tomorrow to start spinning babies. I heard they'll do a version at 37 weeks if baby is still breech but if things turn south they'll open you up right there and take baby out. Scary. I'm hoping to be able to get him to flip with the least invasive options first!
  • I've been MIA for a couple of days, but I hope our moms on bed rest are doing all right. It's so wonderful to hear that Mel's baby is doing well. But everyone else, keep cooking!
@frecklesinside, that sounds completely ridiculous to me, to freak out over one high BP reading. of course, I don't know your health history, but I do think many med professionals make too many assumptions based on weight. Hoping everything works out.

My random is that I am very excited to watch the new Parks and Rec episodes tonight - missed them on Tuesday.
  • @janda426, I'm hoping to avoid them manually turning the baby, I've heard it's not very pleasant. We still have plenty of time, though. A lot can happen in 4 weeks!

  • It's in Parenting too
  • Bad apples? Replacing people? Low blow.

Who says that? Seriously. So fucking juvenile. Like way to call names and violate your own TOU.
  • How do you ladies get to that discussion in the app?! I can get there online but it's so frustrating trying to find bumphq on the app!

My random is that my DS school sent home a letter today saying there has been a very large # of students with the stomach flu and they are taking measures recommended by the health department.... I'm panicked the thought of the stomach flu in the 3rd tri scares me!!

Idk how old your son is but tell him to wash his hands every hour, do NOT touch his face, don't let anyone touch his food and definitely wash hands before eating! If possible. If he's very little he might not be capable of half that haha

The only way you can get the stomach virus (stomach flu is a misnomer) is by fecal-oral contact, aka another kid not washing their hands well enough after they poo and either touching something your son touches or touches your son himself, and then the virus will go through his mouth when he eats or touches his mouth. I also hope they're using hospital grade wipes cause Lysol does not kill the stomach virus.
  • @FrecklesInside I think it's kind of ridiculous that they are talking about induction with only one high BP. That is more than a little bit ridiculous. Hopefully everything remains smooth though and you have no other issues. I'd fight like hell through that as well.

@Skrittens I am glad that everything was good and they let you go home!! That's reassuring, even though 34 weeks is so close for you. Hopefully you'll be able to keep baking until 37 wks.

I know that they were a bunch more I wanted to get to, but due to it taking me a couple of hours to make it through the randoms today, quite frankly I'm too lazy to go back.

AFM, I have an unplanned apt tomorrow with my MW because I have been having a crazy amount of sharp stabbing pain in my hips and abdomen. That, and I have a brand new floater, so they are recommending to be seen before the weekend just in case. Either baby has made it his mission to be as low as possible and make me constantly feel like I either have to pee or poo 24/7, or something is causing this constant pressure. That and the GI issues have been flowing like crazy. TMI, but I have heard of constipation during this point, but not chronic diarrhea. That coupled with the heartburn is making me anti-eat anything ever at all. Which is hard when you're constantly hungry!! Oi.

  • I just got home a little while ago from cleaning a new house. I haven't picked up a new house in almost a year. I'm sore and exhausted. And now a bit worried that I won't be able to do this for too much longer.
But on a brighter note, the new bottles and drying rack came today. Just a few more things off our list!!!
  • @Carmar3‌ oh good, that will kill it too. People think when they hear Lysol "kills the cold and flu virus" that the "stomach flu" is included in that and then everyone's bent out of shape when they Lysol everything but still get sick.

It's like my personal mission in life to educate about the stomach virus and how to prevent it from spreading hahah. In the past 4 years it's entered my house three times (each time by a different person) and *knock on wood* every time I've managed to keep it to ONLY the person who got it. Lord please let me keep that up if our son gets it! That's when shit gets messy. Literally.
