This kid finished eating almost 2 hours ago and I'm still trying to get him to burp. Any pointers, I feel like I've tried every position I know. I'm so exhausted that I've been reduced to tears. Just freaking burp already!!
The only thing I do to get burps is switch positions while burping. Eventually we get one. Or I'll just change his diaper and try again after a change. Sometimes he let's them out on his own during the diaper change
@heidih21 I feel like the sweats are a vicious cycle. I go to bed cold, then sweat my ass off. Kick the covers off, and then freeze because I'm wet from sweating.....and repeat the cycle.
He isn't content. If I skip the burps he will grunt and cry until it comes out, but he just ripped the biggest little man fart and fell right to sleep. Now it's my turn ;-)
Edit to say, it's my turn to fall asleep, not rip a big man fart )
DS2 will be 24 hours old in 30 minutes! It almost still feels surreal.
He and I are both doing great. I was really sad/mad because when his blood sugar was checked at about 6 hours old, they insisted on giving him formula because it was a little low. I was wanting to EBF or at least try, but they were insistent. Anyway, his blood sugar went up after that, and he has nursed ok since then, so I guess that's ok.
Everything else is good. DH has been really sweet through all this. He kept trying to rub my back during labor, and I kept saying, "Please stop," "Can you stop that please," "You don't need to do that," and finally, "Please don't touch me." Oops. He was trying to "help" because he said it was hard to see me in pain, but I felt all hot and bothered and didn't want to be touched. Then later he gave me two letters, one for me and one for DS2, and they were so sweet. And a necklace! I didn't give him anything except the baby, so I'll have to do something sweet when we get home.
DS2 is having his 24 hr checkup and HepB shot. I hope he's good! Oh, and here's a photo.
Is night rage a thing? Cause I feel it every freaking time my husband falls asleep and starts snoring in my face. Telling him to shut the fuck up is only a temporary solution. Once he falls back to sleep.he snores again. Smothering is my next option.
1. I am sick and feeling totally dehydrated. Kept trying to ignore my contractions, but they are coming every 10 minutes... so I'm chugging a bottle of Gatorade and hoping that I can get back to sleep soon.
2. MIL will be showing up this evening. Yay for free babysitting, but ugh the extra stress of entertaining a houseguest for the next month...
Good morning! I just booked baby's first airplane ride for next month to NY. I can't wait! Now I just gotta figure out the best way to lug(sp?) him through the airport besides wearing him. My stroller is too heavy to bring on the plane.
What about a light weight stroller frame to put the infant seat in? I've also heard TONS of good things about babywearing when traveling.
I feel like a new woman right now now. After 2 nights of crappy sleep since we got home from the hospital where we slept crappy, I suggested we do "shifts". except I'd have to nurse during both DH's and my shifts. My thought was why are we both up losing sleep at 2am bickering.
I took 9-12 to sleep and he was on Sam duty. I guess Sam was pretty chill and dozed in his swing & DH held him some too. Then he woke me to feed Sam at 10:30 and I went back to sleep until about 1.
DH went to bed and I nursed Sam again, did a diaper change, made sure he was fully asleep and he let me put him in his RNP about 2am. Sam just woke up at 5, giving us our very 1st 3(ish) hr at night ever!!

Ohhh exciting!
We have a flight booked for somewhere, too, but we still have awhile. Excited to see how it goes for you!
I have no desire to do anything today, but I feel like I have so much to do.
Zoe's big stretch was from 10-5 so she slept super good again.
I still need to take down my Christmas tree.....

I'm wearing mine. I feel like I have no choice. I need to keep one hand on my 4 year old and need the other hand to carry my stuff. We take our first flight a week from today. I'm nervous to do it with two kids and no H.
@robsbabygirl08 for burping have you tried sitting him in an upright position and bending him forward and backwards or side to side. I had not, but during the breastfeeding clinic a few nights ago this is what the osteopath recommended. Worth a try.
I slipped on ice last night and came down pretty hard. I was fairly certain I was ok but knew if I didn't get checked out I'd be worried about it for the next....until baby is born. So I went in to the hospital and they hooked me up to the monitors. Thankfully all is well with baby. Now my knee, elbow and shoulder are a different story. A tad sore today.

@VioletGjoni, I've heard good things about these rolly car seat transporter things. Maybe this would be an option if you can't take the stroller but need to take the car seat to the gate?
Still weeks away from EDD, starting to get bad back pain and intermittent cramps. I know everything is fine, and just getting ready for the big day, its just so freaking uncomfortable. Day off from work tomorrow, I'll be staying in bed for as long as I can stand it.
I got 6 hours of sleep last night without waking up. My normal routine has been 4 hours then up for 2 then a little more sleep. Felt so good. But now I'm awake since 5 and probably won't sleep more. Oh well!
I'm pretty sure that I've gotten 10.5 hours of sleep over the past three nights. Like, 10.5 hours total. 2 hours the first night, 6 hours the next night (amazing!), and 2.5 hours last night. There comes a time when I wean myself entirely off of sleep, right??
I woke up with a big zit on my chin. My first thought was, oh crap, now all the pictures of me and new baby will have this in them. Second though, maybe this is a sign of impending labor?
I need sleep and this baby out of me (tomorrow is EDD).

I got a bad one on my chin yesterday and thought the same thing, great, it will be in all the pics!
Still unsure if im in early labor.... Probably false alarm but feeling contractions somewhat regularly but not painful at all. Slept pretty well last night but excited if this is a sign she is on her way!
I'm throwing myself a big fat pity party this morning. Last night my feet got super swollen (even though I haven't had any issue with that this whole pregnancy) and I had pretty regular contractions every 5ish minutes for about 2.5 hours. They weren't super intense though, so I didn't want to go in. They went away and I went to sleep. Boo. This morning my feet were okay when I woke up, but now they're back to monster size. I'm tired and cranky and disappointed that last night was a fake out. We have garth brooks tickets for tonight and I honestly don't even want to go anymore. Wah wah wah - rant over.
Morning! I can no longer sleep. This SPD is Unreal! Only a few more days I'm sure, and I'm looking forward to the relief. Anyone else suffer from this that have already delivered, how soon after did you find relief?
Owen slept all night in his own bed! It's still early, and he's still sleeping. With him being nearly 19 months old, I still feel like I need to go check on him when he sleeps through the night in his own room. I won't, because I'll probably wake him up and then kick myself for going in to check.
I have my mfm this morning, and I *think* my last growth ultrasound. I'm excited to get an estimate of his weight, and hopefully I'll get a good last picture of his sweet face. My H, mom, and friend think he'll be here by this weekend. I'm still trying to hold out until the 21st. @britb618 we very well could deliver on the same day! Btw, you've got a PM in a few minutes.
I think I've made it clear that I'm in no rush to be done with this pregnancy, but seeing all these sweet baby pictures gets me all giddy, and really excited that soon I'll have my little man to show case! :x
Today was my original EDD. It was pushed to the 19th though (which was more in line with my cycle anyway). I know she (midwife) doesn't KNOW if I'll have to be induced, but last week she didn't think I'd have to. Yesterday she gave me a script to have an NST done at the hospital just before 41wks and said we'd schedule an induction date at my appt next week. Gah- come on kid, let's skip the pitocin this time!
I feel ya! If I don't have baby come Monday (39 weeks) I get to schedule my induction. I'm not looking forward to it, and just pray he decides on his own to show up. On the other hand, I had a terrible experience being induced with my 1st, so. .. Now that this is my 4th, and I'm already 2 to 3 cm, maybe it wouldn't be AS bad, and it'll be a quick labor.
I'm getting really nervous about going into labor. I feel like a FTM. Since I was induced last time, I don't know what it feels like to go into labor naturally. I need my mom to leave work and drive an hour to come watch DD when the time comes so I just want a clear sign that it's for real! I would feel horrible if i called her and it was a fake out! I would love it if my water broke, there's no denying that!

I felt the same. Trust me. You'll know. I swear. If you have to question if it's real, it's not time yet. For me a spontaneous labor was much easier to handle. It didn't feel forced.
Ok when people say they've had contractions off and on for the last couple days, do they mean Braxton hicks? Or real ones? I've never had real contractions that just come and go. Either they're tons of BH, or it's true, hard labour.
@littlefoote thanks for the advice! I'll give my dr a call at lunch and see what they say. I can always run up to walgreens or cvs later and check my blood pressure. I'll try drinking lots of water today - the frequent bathroom breaks will be a welcome distraction from the work I so don't want to do.

I think it gets confusing because BH can pick up in intensity and feel like early labor contractions. I don't think there is a clear delineation for everyone.

Yes you're right. I just wish my non-painful Braxton hicks contractions would turn into the real thing. I'm so tired of them coming and going!! I guess in the end it's my body's way of preparing, but it's still annoying
@babystandish how does one enjoy food? I had to warm up my coffee three times yesterday before I got a chance to drink the whole cup.
LO is looking more like DH every day and not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous. That also could be due to the fact that I haven't slept in my own bed in two days. DH said he's going to do night duty this weekend so I can sleep in bed! Way too excited for that.
My first cup went cold about halfway through, instead of heating it up I just added another scolding got cup to it
Re: Thursday Randoms
Or make dad give it a go
I'm soaked constantly! Even when I ditch the blanket and turn the fan on me.
Edit to say, it's my turn to fall asleep, not rip a big man fart
