SIL's pregnancy, odd feeing.

My SIL is 38+ weeks pregnant and she is experiencing an odd sensation. Two days ago she told me that it felt like a water balloon stretching inside her. Then last night she felt it 3 times. Has any one else experienced this? I never has this happen whit any of my pregnancies and I had 3.

Lower abdomen the fist time, then the three times last night she said it felt like it was outside of the cervix.

She has an ultrasound and OB visit at 9:20 this morning.
