I know that this was mentioned in the ransoms thread but perhaps needs it's own discussion area here?

The new bump guidelines are not a change to the TOS are they? What happens when they are not followed?

Apparently the news if these changes is being discussed elsewhere on the internet.

I saw posts with tons of banned users but didn't know what was going on. So that clears it up a bit more for me.

The new TOU are definitely stricter than they used to be. Quite a lot stricter actually.

I think people are less angry about the new TOS than they are about certain mods being banned for what don't seem like very good reasons.

I removed the link. I didn't realize people were being banned for posting a link to a non pregnancy related board (current events and politics). Literally no one from TB is jumping ship over there. It was just a discussion of the changes here and links to various posts on TB message boards.

It does seem like TB is going to lose a substantial amount of posters, but perhaps they will get them back in time.

It seemed like it was more because of the reasons that were given for banning the mods. They felt TB was overstepping. I don't know though.

Yeah, it's not clear to me, either. I'm definitely skeptical of the explanation given by TB, which is that they violated a confidentiality agreement. But the idea of TB banning a bunch of long time mods because they disagreed with the new TOS seems crazy to me, too. And obviously I don't have the whole story!

I read some stuff on parenting. I'm still confused. I didn't even read the bump guidelines, I started to then it was blah blah blah to me.
I occasionally lurked parenting, and enjoyed most of the regulars over there. I found them to be hilarious, so it sucks now that they've decided to move on, or they got banned.

I am happy with TB the way it was. If this place starts farting rainbows and puppies, I think I'm out! I like a little snark, and telling it like it is.

I know I'm not a regular or anything. This is my first pregnancy so I'm here to read relatable things.... however, it would be so sad if any of you were banned or left. I've been around for 6 months I believe and every time I'm here I've enjoyed reading the drama (not all of it is good and I don't like others in pain) and laughing at the gifs...
If we cannot get a good laugh through all this pregnancy hormonal stuff then what's the point?

I didn't see the threads in which the info was "leaked," but it seems totally unfair to ban the mods for seeking input from (or giving a heads up to) the people who would be affected by the new TOU. Seems like that is more in line with the effort to foster community than a totally top down approach. And besides, it's not like TB TOU are government secrets. I think some higher ups probably need to get over themselves.

This. There was a ton of shady stuff that went down on a very established board. Regs and mods were banned for no reason. This was all done after hours and threads just started disappearing. The company is now refusing to delete user history of banned members. The board was a safe place for so many people. Irl friendships were formed and support was given. That's all gone now. Waiting to see how long this post takes to disappear.

I don't intend to GBCB at this point. I've been just kind of sitting back, watching everything happen, and wondering where it all will land. I'm sad about some of it, confused about some of it... Not sure where it's all headed, but I'm here with Jan '15, at least, until the board dies out.

Though while the site was down a few minutes ago it looks like all (most? some?) mods, myself included, have lost moderating abilities?? I still have a crown but it says member under my name now. Not sure if it was on purpose or if there are a ton of glitches taking place. I guess we'll see.

Lurking from feb15 here. Most of the regulars from feb15 have jumped ship and different people have started posting but it is dead slow over there. I wasn't considered a regular but I did try to partake in conversation and help the community when I felt I could. I'm hoping things will pick back up, and that people will stay and continue on but if for some reason the board dies off I'm hoping I can hop on over and join you ladies
I am due Feb. 1st so technically I could end up being in Jan 15th.

I really hope this board doesn't die. I've gotten my feelings hurt a few times in the beginning, but honestly I'd rather have someone tell me something without sugar coating it then have them take forever to get to the point.

I'm slowly learning more about the mods that have been banned and I think it's ridiculous. They better not mess with @ICarriedAWatermelon‌ or @LadyXaverian‌! I really like you two

Well, that's just the nature of BMBs. Most eventually fizzle out.

ICAW and I are pretty uncontroversial, so I don't think either of us will get banned, but it's kind of touch and go right now with trying to understand exactly what is happening and why.

I know the BMB won't be around forever. I'm just hoping it doesn't fizzle prematurely. There are still a lot of babies that haven't made their debut yet!

Hopefully you two will be left alone because you are fair when it comes to working out any controversy.

The May 2015 board is very annoying.... the 24 hours of silence bit that has been spreading to June and maybe beyond is so crazy.... I'm so glad all of us aren't being like that....

I support the silence on any board that feels the need to do so. I don't see it as "beyond crazy" at all. There are people, myself included, who have been a part of this community for 5 or 6 years (or more) and have made life-long friends here. Some of the people who came together in this community have now been banned, losing their "safe havens". I know not everyone understands board culture, but especially on 3T, IF, the loss boards etc... Those friendships and communities are.... I have no words for what those boards mean/meant to their members. Parenting, where I hung out a lot-- some of those ladies I originally met on TTGP or the 1st trimester board when I was expecting my now almost-4 year old. So 5+ years invested in some of those friendships/communities.

I'm rambling, but all that to say, some people are feeling an incredible loss of community today, so if they want to stay silent for 24 hours as an honor to the friends who have been removed from the boards, I understand that completely.

I also wanted to point out that I never meant to overly offend any regular members. It was meant to sound slightly overwhelming.

I can appreciate those defending but I am just one internet person. I don't try to go out of my way to hurt others.

So, after what I originally said.

@dharpster Definitely keep checking in on your F15 board since I'm sure you've gotten to know those ladies over the past 7 or so months, but you are more than welcome here, too! Like you said, you could end up having your baby in January, and some of us may end up with February babies.

ETA: And I'm sure plenty of bonding will happen in the coming months as we are all looking for advice related to our newborns.
