1. I studied criminal justice. It was fascinating and I loved it. I never ended up going to law school, so it was a fun waste of time. Lol!
2. I loved all my criminal law classes. I even kept my textbooks. I also loved my biology classes: bio 101, microbio, marine bio, and (not bio) geology. I remember the most from those classes.
3. Marine biology, Spanish, backpacking (it was basically a weekend camping trip!), and educational philosophy.
4. So many! Tennis, golf, swimming, karate, surfing, skiing, archery, kickboxing, and horseback riding.

@kensie5226 thanks for the offer. I am half German so it is something I've wanted to peruse for a while. They only offered Spanish and French while I was in HS and then, the year after I graduate they added German classes. Good luck getting back into the triathlon groove.
@sammae, unfortunately, I don't think I know of many people who are actually working in the same field that their degree is in.

1. If you went to college, what did you study? I have my masters degree in elementary education with a math minor. I taught kindergarten for 5 years and decided it wasn't for me! You live, you learn.
2. What was you favorite class in school? I always loved math. I especially liked any course that was algebraicly based. Geometry, not so much.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? I've taken a cake decorating class at a local bakery. I wasn't half bad! Perhaps I missed my calling
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? I've thought about tennis lessons. I come from a HUGE sports family with lots of college football and professional tennis players. One of my cousins even went to the Olympics! Wish more of those sporty genes came my way.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I'd really like to learn to write calligraphy. What an awesome talent to have!
Me (29) DH (37)
Married 7/11
Actively TTC 3/12
DX: PCOS
Current treatment: Break from IUIs until after the holidays
Learning new things can be fun, so let's talk about education.
1. If you went to college, what did you study?- Nursing
2. What was you favorite class in school?- Anything science related.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy?- I was taking barre work out classes which I really enjoyed, but it got costly so I had to stop.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for?- I would like to learn to run.... I am a TERRIBLE runner. I feel like I hold my breath so I have poor endurance. I commend all you marathon and tri runners... I'd like to start by running a 5K.
5. What is something you would like to learn?- I would like to take cooking/baking classes. I really enjoy cooking and baking and would like to learn to make something new. Or cake decorating... I love cupcakes, they are delicious and make me smile
1. International studies (an interdisciplinary major), Chinese, and Education.
2. Best classes ever - a Drama class where the class produced a play I wrote, and a World Issues class where I first learned about the worst of the 20th century and learned to see myself as a world citizen.
3. I took 3 semesters of badminton in college just for the fun of it...it took me (literally) years to be able to hit the bird with the racquet when trying to serve, but after getting the hang of it, it became my favorite workout for years.
4. I have no interest in taking lessons for any sport, except maybe how to clean the house in 30 minutes and magically expend 1000 calories while doing so. Crohn's + IF makes me tooo tired for physical exertion.
5. I would love to learn to knit. I have been taught 3 times by different people but the results were pitiful and the ability just won't stick in my brain. My grandma knits items for charity and I would love, love, love to help her keep that legacy going but I'm afraid it's hopeless. So given that knitting is out of the question...definitely quilting! Our bed has 5 quilts made by grandma and I dream of making one with dozens of random fabrics.

@theholmanherd I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be me this week, but I've been so distracted at work, thanks for jumping in! I'll take next week for you!
1. If you went to college, what did you study? I studies political science undergrad and public policy in grad school
2. What was you favorite class in school? When I was studying abroad in college I took a class on Czech relations with the US taught by a former dissident and ambassador to the US it was fascinating to learn from someone with those types of experiences.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? Like @annaclaire256 I took a cake decorating class too, one of the Wilton ones. I enjoyed it and still use some of the skills.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? I take adult ballet classes, which I love. I'd like to learn to snowboard, but I'm not a terribly adventerous person.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I took a pottery class in high school and loved working on the wheel, I'd like to take some classes on that. Our local art museum offers them, but unfortunately the classes are pretty expensive. Some day I hope to be able to.

1. If you went to college, what did you study? I was a double major in Psychology and Music (Voice Performance) and I have a Masters of Social Work.
2. What was you favorite class in school? This is a tough one for me. I guess I'd say my favorite class was abnormal psychology during undergrad since the professor was one of te best I've ever had and he made the topic even more facinatin than it already was.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? I'd say my wholeMusic major was because it was something I enjoyed tha I wasn't willing to give up yet. More recently I'd like to take a painting class. I've been doing it a lot more and just love it.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? Ugh, I'm tragically uncoordianted. I played soccer for a while as a kid, but ended giving it up when I got to highschool. I honestly probably would not take a lesson for a sport.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I'd love to learn to crochet. I always see these cute things on pinterest and I feel like I would find it relaxing.
@rainbowbridge14, I did an internship in a prison for a semester and it was definetly an interesting experience. I always like classes that take you on field trips, so your class sounds like fun!
So many
people have such interesting educational backgrounds!!! You all sound so darn
intelligent!!!@kensie5226 – I really
would like to know what career path you’ve taken with your smarty pants
degrees.
If you went to college, what did you study?
I studied psychology in undergrad. I am now in grad school
getting my masters in counseling.
What was your favorite
class in school?
Anything psychology-related: I loved Abnormal Psychology in
undergrad and Maladaptive in grad school.
Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy?
I have not, but I REALLY want to take a cooking class someday.
And I would really like to get back to piano or vocal lessons.
What sport would you like to take lessons for?
BOXING!
What is something you would like to learn?
Like a lot of you here, I’d love to learn another language.
Spanish would be the most practical, but French or Italian would be more fun.

3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? I took an online photography class last year. I would love to take an in-person one at some point.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? I guess running is something I wish I were good at. I've tried the Couch to 5K program and it didn't really work for me.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I'd like to learn how to knit more than just scarves, and I'd love to learn how to crochet too. My mom crochets, and she's tried to teach me, but it didn't stick.

@Rumbera28 I am drooling at the thought of your Symbolic Logic class. That sounds like so much fun!
@BlueFairy5 I did two courses through https://www.flyingphotoschool.com/ but I had bought Groupon-type deals so it was way less expensive than the actual prices listed on their website. I did one that helped me learn some of the more advanced features of my camera, and another on composition.
@BlueFairy5 Anatomy is where stuff is located in an organism, Physiology is how everything actually works together. It's generally the class you dissect an animal (which I didn't love, but it's cool to see how everything is connected).
Me & DH: Both 30 / Married 3 years / TTC since 10/2013
1. If you went to college, what did you study? I double majored in Communications and Public Relations, and got a job planning events so I count it as using my degree - loosely anyway. That's part of why I majors in Communication, it was so broad it could be applied to anything. 2. What was you favorite class in school? I really enjoyed taking American Sign Language. I took it for 4 semesters and would have kept taking it but I really wanted to graduate in 4 years and didn't have room in my course load for it anymore. 3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? Not really. I would love to take a class on different crochet techniques though, or bread making. Usually I just teach myself from YouTube videos. 4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? I would love to learn how to pace myself when running, I can't seem to do it so running not on a treadmill always goes bad. 5. What is something you would like to learn?
I have wanted to learn French for a long time, I started on DuoLingo but didn't keep up with it.

@theholmanherd no worries! I figured you were covering me, and I owed you, so thanks!
@firstarabesque arabesque were always one of my personal favorites, so much easier kicking that leg back than forward for me!
@BlueFairy - current events frighten me on sooooo many levels. I was actually having a conversation with a good friend yesterday that basically boiled down to a debate between isolationism versus global responsibility. It's interesting stuff for sure.

@firstarabesque I haven't taken any ballet classes since the summer after high school . For awhile in college I took hip hop classes, which were fun, but the teacher always said I still danced hip hop like a ballerina lol. I haven't done anything in awhile, which makes me sad. I think ballet would kill my body at this point in my life, and I've also feared that it would make me a little sad to go back to it since it would never be the same as how I danced before.

I majored in anthropology with a focus on the socio-cultural and a minor in sociology.
2. What was you favorite class in school? All of my classes relating to my major/minor were my favorite. I loved learning about the inter-twinings of different cultures within cultures and why people are the way they are. I took a lot of women and gender studies classes, lots of diversity issues.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? I secretly enjoyed science as well although I always felt I wasn't smart in that way…I think I had a smart insecurity…like if I didn't know everything I wasn't smart enough to talk about it….come to think about it I think I might still feel that way about some aspects of my life…hmmm weird…I digress
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? sports always seem like a good idea in theory…but I have never been super competitive and honestly get bored of them pretty quickly….I like golf, the little I have played…but golf is less athletic and more psychological, an exercise in patience…I think we are all experts in that.
5. What is something you would like to learn?
Definitely another language. I think Spanish.

-----All Welcome----
~~~January 3T Siggy Challenge: New Year's Resolutions~~~
(I don't do resolutions...so I stole T-Rex's)
Learning new things can be fun, so let's talk about education.
1. If you went to college, what did you study?- Nursing
2. What was you favorite class in school?- Anything science related.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy?- I was taking barre work out classes which I really enjoyed, but it got costly so I had to stop.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for?- I would like to learn to run.... I am a TERRIBLE runner. I feel like I hold my breath so I have poor endurance. I commend all you marathon and tri runners... I'd like to start by running a 5K.
5. What is something you would like to learn?- I would like to take cooking/baking classes. I really enjoy cooking and baking and would like to learn to make something new. Or cake decorating... I love cupcakes, they are delicious and make me smile
2. Best classes ever - a Drama class where the class produced a play I wrote, and a World Issues class where I first learned about the worst of the 20th century and learned to see myself as a world citizen.
3. I took 3 semesters of badminton in college just for the fun of it...it took me (literally) years to be able to hit the bird with the racquet when trying to serve, but after getting the hang of it, it became my favorite workout for years.
4. I have no interest in taking lessons for any sport, except maybe how to clean the house in 30 minutes and magically expend 1000 calories while doing so. Crohn's + IF makes me tooo tired for physical exertion.
5. I would love to learn to knit. I have been taught 3 times by different people but the results were pitiful and the ability just won't stick in my brain. My grandma knits items for charity and I would love, love, love to help her keep that legacy going but I'm afraid it's hopeless. So given that knitting is out of the question...definitely quilting! Our bed has 5 quilts made by grandma and I dream of making one with dozens of random fabrics.
@theholmanherd I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be me this week, but I've been so distracted at work, thanks for jumping in! I'll take next week for you!
1. If you went to college, what did you study? I studies political science undergrad and public policy in grad school
2. What was you favorite class in school? When I was studying abroad in college I took a class on Czech relations with the US taught by a former dissident and ambassador to the US it was fascinating to learn from someone with those types of experiences.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? Like @annaclaire256 I took a cake decorating class too, one of the Wilton ones. I enjoyed it and still use some of the skills.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? I take adult ballet classes, which I love. I'd like to learn to snowboard, but I'm not a terribly adventerous person.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I took a pottery class in high school and loved working on the wheel, I'd like to take some classes on that. Our local art museum offers them, but unfortunately the classes are pretty expensive. Some day I hope to be able to.
1. If you went to college, what did you study? I was a double major in Psychology and Music (Voice Performance) and I have a Masters of Social Work.
2. What was you favorite class in school? This is a tough one for me. I guess I'd say my favorite class was abnormal psychology during undergrad since the professor was one of te best I've ever had and he made the topic even more facinatin than it already was.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? I'd say my wholeMusic major was because it was something I enjoyed tha I wasn't willing to give up yet. More recently I'd like to take a painting class. I've been doing it a lot more and just love it.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? Ugh, I'm tragically uncoordianted. I played soccer for a while as a kid, but ended giving it up when I got to highschool. I honestly probably would not take a lesson for a sport.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I'd love to learn to crochet. I always see these cute things on pinterest and I feel like I would find it relaxing.
@rainbowbridge14, I did an internship in a prison for a semester and it was definetly an interesting experience. I always like classes that take you on field trips, so your class sounds like fun!
WOW! We have a lot of VERY smart women on here!!
@theholmanherd what a fun thing to study in school! I bet it was fascinating! I love watching all of those ID channel investigation shows!
Learning new things can be fun, so let's talk about education.
1. If you went to college, what did you study?
Broadcast Communications. I always wanted to be a sports broadcaster!
2. What was you favorite class in school?
Anything that WAS NOT math! Terrible at math, great at English.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy?
A few hip hop classes here and there. I danced all through HS and then one year in college.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for?
hhmm....I'm not very athletically inclined, but I'd love to learn to ski better. My husband loves it, but I just can't hang with him.
5. What is something you would like to learn?
To be more creative and crafty! I love Pinterest, but my creations never seem to turn out the way they do! ha!
So many people have such interesting educational backgrounds!!! You all sound so darn intelligent!!! @kensie5226 – I really would like to know what career path you’ve taken with your smarty pants degrees.
If you went to college, what did you study?
I studied psychology in undergrad. I am now in grad school getting my masters in counseling.
What was your favorite class in school?
Anything psychology-related: I loved Abnormal Psychology in undergrad and Maladaptive in grad school.
Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy?
I have not, but I REALLY want to take a cooking class someday. And I would really like to get back to piano or vocal lessons.
What sport would you like to take lessons for?
BOXING!
What is something you would like to learn?
Like a lot of you here, I’d love to learn another language. Spanish would be the most practical, but French or Italian would be more fun.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? I took an online photography class last year. I would love to take an in-person one at some point.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? I guess running is something I wish I were good at. I've tried the Couch to 5K program and it didn't really work for me.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I'd like to learn how to knit more than just scarves, and I'd love to learn how to crochet too. My mom crochets, and she's tried to teach me, but it didn't stick.
2. What was you favorite class in school? Psychology and history. I am a nerd.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy? Yes, I took a singing class and actually sang opera. I was not anywhere near a music major so it was always interesting. I sang in an all girls group, all of whom were music majors. I learned a lot in there.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for? If you count Dressage (horseback riding) a sport. I took lessons for that too. I miss that the most, I think.
5. What is something you would like to learn? I want to get some equine science classes under my belt. I love everything about horses, so learning how to better care for them, seems to be a natural progression. Did I mention I was a nerd? :-B
2. What was you favorite class in school? Endangered Habitats and Medical Anthropology
5. What is something you would like to learn? To paint!
3. I took a number of cooking classes several years ago, I really enjoyed them.
4. I would love to take a tap class. I used to love it when I was little.
5. I'd like to learn more about real estate.
5. What is something you would like to learn? How to knit, I think I lack the patience but would like to try
I double majored in Communications and Public Relations, and got a job planning events so I count it as using my degree - loosely anyway. That's part of why I majors in Communication, it was so broad it could be applied to anything.
2. What was you favorite class in school?
I really enjoyed taking American Sign Language. I took it for 4 semesters and would have kept taking it but I really wanted to graduate in 4 years and didn't have room in my course load for it anymore.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy?
Not really. I would love to take a class on different crochet techniques though, or bread making. Usually I just teach myself from YouTube videos.
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for?
I would love to learn how to pace myself when running, I can't seem to do it so running not on a treadmill always goes bad.
5. What is something you would like to learn?
August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB
@theholmanherd no worries! I figured you were covering me, and I owed you, so thanks!
@firstarabesque arabesque were always one of my personal favorites, so much easier kicking that leg back than forward for me!
@BlueFairy - current events frighten me on sooooo many levels. I was actually having a conversation with a good friend yesterday that basically boiled down to a debate between isolationism versus global responsibility. It's interesting stuff for sure.
2. What was you favorite class in school?
All of my classes relating to my major/minor were my favorite. I loved learning about the inter-twinings of different cultures within cultures and why people are the way they are. I took a lot of women and gender studies classes, lots of diversity issues.
3. Have you taken a class for a hobby you enjoy?
I secretly enjoyed science as well although I always felt I wasn't smart in that way…I think I had a smart insecurity…like if I didn't know everything I wasn't smart enough to talk about it….come to think about it I think I might still feel that way about some aspects of my life…hmmm weird…I digress
4. What sport would you like to take lessons for?
sports always seem like a good idea in theory…but I have never been super competitive and honestly get bored of them pretty quickly….I like golf, the little I have played…but golf is less athletic and more psychological, an exercise in patience…I think we are all experts in that.
5. What is something you would like to learn?
