Sunday Fun Day Chatterbox

Re: Sunday Fun Day Chatterbox

  • So I'm the hotel parent for my daughters travel softball team. I find the hotels, set up blocks, send the information out to the families for every tournament that is out of town. Probably 5/year. I try to stick to hotels that aren't too expensive, have free breakfast and a pool. So this weekend I made arrangements, but several families thought the hotel I booked was too expensive so they stayed at another hotel that was very cheap, but didn't have the extras. Those families showed up at the hotel I booked for breakfast BOTH mornings to eat FOR FREE. Also came to swim. The use of the pool doesn't bother me as much as the meal. I find it tacky and I don't want our team to get a bad name. We stay at this place at least once a year. The families that chose not to stay there are newer members of the team. I am I crazy to think that's wrong?

No you're not wrong. That's ghetto as hell!!! I think that maybe needs to be brought to their attention. Possibly you can air your concerns to the coach?

It's wrong and weird. I don't even know how I would approach that situation!
This! It's also technically considered stealing. I worked at a hotel for 9 years, that is (or should be) built into the room rate.
It absolutely is stealing. It's not fair to whomever actually stays there
  • Sending good thoughts to those who could use them.

Jennifer Anniston has had some work done, no?
  • The chick from the new Star Wars movie is wearing glasses with formalwear!
  • Also, it must be 100 degrees in there because they are all so sweaty!
  • I'm jealous of everyone watching the Globes!

    Sorry about your husband's grandma @mamrotu73. :(

  • @UnofficiallyLO‌ I can post here, I've never done a pm so didn't know how to anyway :). How was your lo through the day? What was the plan for the lo throughout the day as there's times at your own wedding where you can't look after them, what about during the evening?

I've hired a country house for the weekend 30 friends and family are staying and the whole wedding is there, we have additional guests too, I was thinking of asking my mum mil or sister to be the main one to look after him at times where I can't... ?

    Sorry it's a bit long!

    Sorry it's a bit long!

I would make the day as normal as possible for LO, the day of the wedding I left around 9:30 for hair and makeup and didn't come home until 3 but he was at home with DH until 1 and then Nana until I got there. He was great until I was there and wasn't holding him so getting into my dress was frustrating but somehow he quieted down just in time. My SIL walked down the aisle holding him and when they got to their seats we had a bottle and some crackers for him. They said he ate crackers and stared at us the whole time we exchanged vows, I didn't want to hold him up there but since he was fussy I was mentally prepared to lol As mentioned, he's normally a very happy baby but there was so much going on this weekend and so many people in his face that he was a bit fussy. Like you said there will be times that you can't tend to LO so when I could, I did, just to hold him over. Let me know if there is anything else you can think of, good luck!!
