My DH has been a rock star the past couple of weeks. I started back to work monday and in typical "life" fashion, the big girls got sick last weekend. So here we are dealing with crabby, sick two year olds and my first day of work is Monday. He plays Mr. Mom and stays home with them so I won't miss my first day back. They still had fevers Monday night, so they had to stay home again yesterday and he not only stayed home with them, but took them (by himself) to the doctor! He also told me last night he appreciates everything I do and he didn't realize how much work it actually is being home with them. *jaw drops*
He may just get secks tonight...for the first time since...hmmmm...august?
Wow this was surprisingly hard - wake up call to me to actually rediscover some of my non-mom identity.
This is small but I'm proud of going on long walks with DH, the offspring (didn't say baby!) and our dog several times/week. I've had some pp abdomen pain so it's been hard to be motivated to get up and get moving. But being outside, exercising and doing something with the whole family has been really great.
DH and I were fighting a lot because of family issues. Drama with his dad being his usual asshat self to me and issues with my family being slow in getting my grandmother the proper care. We've worked really hard this week and, knock on wood, haven't fough in almost a week. And no forced politeness either. It's been very nice.
I am minutes from walking into my appt to get my hair lighlighted and trimmed and I'm pretty excited.
Left the house 30 min early for a little extra baby free time, and I sit in the car peeling my nail polish off. Ah well. At least the radio is on full volume
I got some A's for fall semester, happy because I worked really hard to finish. I had the worst morning sickness during exams last spring and my grades reflected it. So getting good grades for the semester I was 7-9 months pregnant is hilarious to me.
"You can’t use “man” (unless you’re referring to particular male human) in any academic publications – which I think you should be contributing to some day soon!"
Her correction was in response to my using "man" to refer the human species as a whole, as it is often used within theological studies. I still use it out of habit outside that context. But woot! on the last part! *dance*
It would be my dream job (one of them at least) to work in academia, but it's unlikely to happen. The feedback is still awesome.
And I got an A for the independent study I did for fall term.

I cooked a dinner last night. An actual dinner.....stuffed peppers. It required 2 pots, a skillet, and a 9 x 13 casserole dish. First time in a long time for that!

My awesome husband. He really is the bestest guy in the world! And we are going to a friend's wedding this weekend! It is outside...in the evening...so it's going to be FREEZING. But it's been so long since I went to a wedding, I'm looking forward to it anyway! (Good idea, @missnacholover ! I love Ronan, and enjoy being a mom, but it's god to focus on other things for just a couple minutes!)
Kind and delusional souls keep telling me how good I look. ie, My MW called me glowing.... One person I don't know asked if I used a surrogate... Etc. It's all weird but nice. Lol. I feel like a puffy eyed troll with a muffin top.
I'm on night two of cooking dinner, I used to cook every night from scratch. I'm so excited by this, I'm starting to feel like I'm back. I'm even getting better about putting LO in her swing so I can get things done in the kitchen.
@lissydee holy smokes that's a lot of steps!! I got a Fitbit for Christmas and I only hit the 10k steps goal once! I turned it down to 5000 per day so I could reach it more often! I know it will be so much easier once it's nice out and I can get outside more often.

I finally got it together this week and chose a date and booked a place for my sister's bridal shower this spring! H and I also submitted an offer on a house yesterday, we're happy in our house but it'd be a better long term location. Also found out this week that a manuscript that I co-authored was accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal! This is the first week that I feel like I have some non baby stuff going on.
TTC since Sept 2011, Unexplained IF Oct 12 - Jan 14: 3 clomid/TI cycles, 2 hysteroscopies, 2 IUIs, 1 BFP (MMC @ 12w), 2 more IUIs Feb 14: Gonal-f + IUI #5 = BFP! (EDD 11/4/14) Baby boy arrived 11/13/14!
I'm being head hunted for another job. Seriously considering it as it would give me more time with LO and more money, but there are some down sides too. In the process of calling around to trusted colleagues to get more info about the position, I was offered another job. It's not one I would take due to distance, but it sure feels good to have multiple practices wanting to hire me, especially after being off for almost 3 months!
I have lost all the pregnancy weight plus an extra 6lbs. Granted it is because of the diet change with the gallbladder but I still feel good about it.
Also, I totally flirted with my DH yesterday. Like when we first started dating. I feel like we haven't made an extra efforts to spend time together or talk about anything but DS. It was nice to feel the fireworks again.
TTC Since 2009
BFP 1: Nov 2010 MMC at 5 Weeks
BFP 2: June 2010 First Round of Clomid Blighted Ovum at 7 weeks
Surprise BFP 3: Feb 2014, Healthy Baby Boy Due October 27th 2014. OB thinks this is it!
Oh any I have over 12k steps today (my Fitbit did a happy dance in celebration) and I'm back on track with WW and working out again. 7lbs to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight and 27 to go til I am at where I was pre-pregnancy with all my kiddos!
You helped me think of something! Although, not unique because I'm using my fitbit again too. I think I've gotten a couple "goal-reached happy dances" from mine this week. :P
@Wildflower810 I didn't know there were any fun two-player card games! DH and I were just complaining that we don't have a few more people around to play with us.
I bought my first new car! We were in need of a car with 3rd row seating and found a great deal on a Ford Flex. It wasn't my first choice, but I'm surprised by how much I like driving it.
@kfo22 Dh and I play skipbo, Rummy, Speed, and 31 together or at least we used to when we were both sleeping through the night. its been awhile but we just talked about how we needed to get back into playing games again.
Like a few that have already posted I have NOTHING (especially since I was in the house for 12 days straight after Christmas; it's too cold to risk LO getting sick) ... but I am on my way to get my hair done and cut. I will post before and after pictures a little later!
Update... Almost had a meltdown because the hair salon was closed! Like a store for rent sign in the Window Closed!! Luckily found out from a friend they just moved down the block!! Thank sweet baby Jesus! Here's the results... I usually wear my hair in a bun around the house... just woke up shot... take the bun down (not so bad)... and final result! I almost feel like a new person!
I've managed to put on makeup everytime I leave the house. DH (bless him) says I don't need it but what he doesn't understand is that it's fun for me. I'm an art kid, I design for a living and I just love playing with the colors!
Also, my new website is just about done! I've also been working on making a makeup brush roll for myself and my friend. Should be finished later today!
I had nothing... but I'm pretty happy that my husband and I are in a really good place now. We just made it through our first rough patch, and ended up better for it.
After a bit of back and forth the sellers accepted our offer, yikes, looks like we might be moving! Selling a house and packing and moving with a newborn? I'm starting to re-think this plan a little!

We can motivate each other! Looks like I'll be moving back home in less than 2 months because DH is deploying in February/March.

also in the middle of moving/packing. Trying to do a little each day while LO naps, but I'm sure this will change as I return to work tomorrow (*sniff*).

Good luck tomorrow, I have no idea how packing will get done once I go back next month. Better start this week if the inspection goes well!
